wgueze & Tosh have released a first preview video of their scratch-made Zolder track for rFactor 2.

The video shows a few laps around the Belgian venue during a Megane Trophy race, allowing us to check out the latest progress the pair has made.

Opened in 1963, Zolder hosted ten editions of the Belgian Grand Prix among several other high-profile sports car & touring car series. Today, the track hosts both international events and Belgian series, the track also has its own 24 Hours race.

Looks awesome. Can’t wait for the release!

    • F1Racer

Me neither. Zolder will be a great addition to rF2. Classic track.

  • Leeman

Glad to see it’s not using the “transparent trees” that seem to be so prevalent in the rF2 tracks lately. This is looking good. Looking forward to the release.

Do you mean the transparent trees in some tracks like Croft and Putnam Park?! It is bug that you can easily correct by going to player.ini and modificate the “Transparency AA=”0″ // Soften edges around alpha test objects”

      • Leeman

Yes, that’s exactly what I meant! I love those two tracks but they’re virtually ruined by that effect. I had no idea it was a bug. Thanks for the info, I’ll edit the player ini per your instructions and give it a try. Thank you!

        this

“Transparency AA=”0″ // Soften edges around alpha test objects”

You find it in Userdate/player….after editing it don’t forget to save the edite!

Where is player.ini? I usually edit the plr file but I have never even seen player.ini it’s not in the player folder.

Indeed, there is no such file in my entire rF2 intallation. player.plr yes, but I cannot find the ” textures transparence” . I did find this:

        Player Texture Override=”-1″

        in the PLR file

EDIT: never mind. I found the other post

That is fantastic. While I try to understand the skill and time that must be required to make a track from scratch, I must say, it looks too flat and smooth. I would rather pay for a laser scanned track. I don’t know much about the track making process, so maybe the final touches will add the bumpy surface that gives a race track its character, but I do know that there are too many scratch tracks in rFactor (1) that are flat and dead, and now that Kunos and iRacing have so many laser scanned tracks out there, I just really, really don’t enjoy a flat track.

What?! This is a circuit made by a single private modders and please tell me how he can make a laser-scanned tracks?! Do you Know how much does it cost to laser scan any track?!

Please tell me, do you think that AC tracks that will be released from third party modders will be laser-scanned?!

He doesn’t asked the modder to use laser scanning, he just not enjoying flat track anymore

I am amazed how good this already looks, and how accurate it is. Even in this early state.
