WRC 4 – First Video Trailer

BigBen Interactive & Milestone have released a first video trailer of their upcoming World Rally Championship 4 title.

BigBen Interactive & Milestone have released a first video trailer of their upcoming World Rally Championship 4 title.

The trailer shows some snow-rallying action in Sweden using the Citroen DS3 WRC.

WRC  4 will bring the cars & stars of the 2013 World Rally Championship season to the PC and current-gen consoles, the title will be released in October.

Aside from adding the newest cars and rallies to the title, WRC 4 will also come with improved graphics.

Furthermore, the developers promised to have taken a lot of fan feedback into account for the new title. Hopefully, this will also apply to the franchise’s less than stellar track record when it comes to realistic driving physics.

Hope it bases more on the setting of WRC2. I really enjoyed the team thingy and the road upwards to WRC. Had quite some fun with that.

Oh and wish they’d stop putting dubstep in every launch video(not specifically Milestone, but pretty much everyone)

    • Realkman666

“Oh and wish they’d stop putting dubstep in every launch video” thanks for sparing me.

Me too. I almost watched it. lol.

      • Realkman666

Yes, I was “this” close to clicking it.

      • Professional Operator

so you people didn’t watch the video because of dubstep and you say WRC 4 is not good (because of dubstep)? I have some internet cookies for ya. 🙂

      • Realkman666

        Eh?

  • Dani .

    I like dubstep

Unfortunately it looks pretty bad even from a 1 min video. About the same as WRC3 or WRC2, and that’s worse than RBR for sure

    • http://virtualr.net/ F1Racer

Yep, very much samey. It’s like you can’t really see the progess.

    • Anonymous

Maybe instead of saying worse than RBR say not even close to as good. We don’t want to take anything away from the best rally sim ever:)

      • Anonymous

Yeah I realized that seconds after posting.
NOT worse than RBR, it’s not as great as RBR.

      • Professional Operator

which makes WRC 3 and 4 still very good games worth playing. RBR is the best rally sim ever made on this planet, we can’t pretend every rally title to be like RBR. If they get somehow close it’s still a great result.

If they show me something I’m game to buy it. I like Codies Dirt series so why would I be against this title. I can admit I only tested WRC3 via demo but seemed the UI and Fanatec support still was not great.

      • Mario Strada

Dirt 3 is actually not that bad as long as you use the grip reduction mod. The problem there is that it’s mostly stupid gimkana silliness and 4 rallies, half of which are 3km long and each stage is almost as wide as they are long.

Plus, it has the Lancia HF which is my all time favorite rally car and the Alpine Renault, my second favorite. Too bad they designed those god awful liveries for it. (Yes, I did download a classic livery, but it only works in single player mode, not in career)

  • Silvio

FIA should redo some licences contracts.

    • Realkman666

Who should take F1 and WRC?

      • http://virtualr.net/ F1Racer

Geoff Crammond for F1 and the RBR guys for WRC. In an ideal world of course…. a world we call…. the Twilight Zone….. na na na na

      • Anonymous

Well maybe a fire needs to be lit under the butts of the creators of these 2 titles. Geoff Crammond was such a pioneer it’s hard not to see him involved.

      • Rhys Gardiner

Just wondered… What’s Geoff Crammond doing with himself nowadays?

      • http://virtualr.net/ F1Racer

I can tell you what he’s NOT doing ! 🙁

      • Anonymous

Sitting on his elevated deck sitting in a lounger drinking some frilly drink and thinking to himself should I do any coding today? Then answers himself naw I’ll think on that one again tomorrow.

      • Pablo Coronel

        Hope God hears you

      • http://virtualr.net/ F1Racer

Well you’re saying that to the wrong person. I’m a proud atheist thankfully. 🙂

      • Realkman666

        shhh…

      • Mario Strada

So am I, but if somebody finally comes up with a decent rally sim that will recognize all my controllers and handles even remotely like RBR I would be willing to convert (To a UU church)

      • http://virtualr.net/ F1Racer

        Heh 🙂

      • Stupid Sweden

        Kunos Simulazioni of course !

  • Andy Thompson

It just doesn’t look natural. Sounds are awful and their attempt at transmission noise is horrendous. Shame.

    • Andy Thompson

Whoever voted that down, could you please make a comment as to why you didn’t agree. I’m very interested. Maybe you haven’t driven RBR.

Welcome to Virtualr and no I did not downvote you,

  • John Krisfalusci

Unbelievable graphics I think I’m gonna cry.. NOT! heh..heh..

  • Bobby

Well, its not a true sim like everyone here wants, or anywhere near on par with RBR, but I bought WRC3 on the xbox (no wheel) and thoroughly enjoyed it for a fun pick and play driving game. A hell of a lot better than F1 2012 which I traded in to buy it second hand.

I just hope they add more variety on the stages, as running through the same junction 4 times in 6 stages got pretty damn boring as each map was either a T shape or a complete circuit.

  • Mario Strada

Nice video of the flight physics. It’s be great to see how the cars handle when they are actually driving instead of flying.
