World Super GT 2 – Toyota GT-One Nordschleife Video

Team RMT has released a new preview video of their World Super GT 2 mod for rFactor 2, showing a complete lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Toyota GT-One.

Powered by a 3.6 litre bi-turbo V8 engine, the GT-One competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1998 and 1999. The car came ultimately close to win the prestigious event in 1999, only stopped by a high speed puncture in the closing hours of the race.

Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2, World Super GT 2 will bring some of of the most legendary GT cars of the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery to rFactor 2.

The job you are doing with this mod is simply amazing…
It’s actually the main reason for me to purchase rF2

  • Hawk

the cockpit is nice..but it looks like an arcade game in driving style.

  • kill4f00d

    This stuff is pro 😎

Hawk: the cockpit is nice..but it looks like an arcade game in driving style.

Tell me what sim is then.

  • Victor_RO

Looks excellent, although the engine sound is somewhat muffled compared to what could be heard in ’99 on the onboard video a few minutes before that tire failure. It’s nearly spot on, just a bit too muted compared to that.

  • Gulyo

dont criticize wong because he gonna cry like a baby :happyevil:

  • Deano

Never fails; if some of you guy’s found a million dollars, you’d bitch about having to pick it up and take it to the bank. 🙄

    Awsome video!!!!

and some people said here “https://www.virtualr.net/rfactor-2-two-high-resolution-screenshots-available/” the rF2 isn’t look like good.. maybe the basic rF2 isn’t look like good but this mod is enough good quality and if it’ll converted to rF2 it just look like more better. good luck, now is too look like [email protected]’ amazing 😛

  • gpfan

Very Very nice cockpit for sure!!!! Very Very Bad driving!!!!

Some comments here are really sad 🙄

Anyway really good video, i like it. Well done.

If this is the main reason for you to purchase rF2 then I suppose you haven’t played WSGT for GTR2 with all its wacky unrealistic physics. But models are top notch. 😉

BTW, is it just me who seems to that modding teams are actually spending more times posting previews than working on the mod itself? 🙄

  • Shum94

I start to understand why they didnt win le mans. You cant see shit in their cockpit.

It’s an ai driving right ?

  • Tensor

Hawk: the cockpit is nice..but it looks like an arcade game in driving style.

lol. do you know how much downforce a prototype can generate? those cars drive like on a railway track.

    but why rF1?
may i ask for a NFS Shift Round around the Nordschleife with tire model mod and less bloom?
i’d really like to see that in motion. cockpit AND TV camera.
i know this mod won’t come out for NFS Shift, but as already run the Honda in it, show us something in motion, plz. just to make me (us) drool.

  • http://www.bsimracing.com Arnold Carter Wong

Shum94: It was me who drove it.

Great job, nice cockpit, love the sounds 😉

Wong what about this one in Shift? hehe 😛

  • Shum94

I can see your name down right the screen but i thought you pressed “i” and let the ai drive.

Any turn on the right is hard with this cockpit.

For the Nordscheifle choice, i rather this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUxTLhGwbpU

The comment section here has really gone downhill after rob started covering consoles. Or maybe its because there are more members?

Anyhow, lovely cockpit! I agree that the sounds could be louder, but I like the sounds themselves.

Shum, really? A post to show you are faster on the Nords?

  • dknine

stunning cockpit graphics guys 😎 .
great quality sounds aswell, top notch RMT :ooo:

  • Dark Racer

Really nice work guys, and I cant see what was wrong with the driving of that lap.

dunno but..i’m totally agree with you. 😐

  • http://www.tltracks.com Alex

more to do with there being nowhere else to go, and hence you just get more people in general.

  • Uff

Rob should really start to ban someone here: comments section is becoming more and more ridiculous..

  • FONismo

Cockpit looks fantastic with some awesome detail and the sounds seem ok aswell. Not sure what the guy meant about it looking arcasy exactly, but to a point it does seem very floaty, but this no way of knowing if it is arcady. For me it’s the cockpit looks very static that gives it that floaty look, like the cockpit vibration is completely off or something? These guys don’t muck around so i know it will be great/

We all know how bumpy nords is and especially in rFactor. Can’t wait for this mod as i’m sure it will be sublime. BTW, i notice it ssys beta physics, will there be a RF1 beta release? I’m sure i read it somewhere.

There will be substantial changes to the comment section in the coming days that will address the issue of trolling too… please sit tight until then 😀

Looks great. But what’s with that fog? Is it windshield? Or it is my eyes that are seeing fog?

  • http://www.bsimracing.com Arnold Carter Wong

    it’s the windscreen.

  • KastaRules

This can compete with the premium cars of GT5 😮

Keep up the excellent work guys, keep doing what you love… and don’t mind these whiny trolls!

As I said @bsim: it looks, it sounds fantastic. Keep up the great work guys! This is Virtual-Art!

Anyway, it is really about time rF gets an update on GT/Touring Mods.

Enduracer, WSGT, V8Factor, JGTC, Historix…. all in the pipeline to be finished.

What a hard time for “non-regulare-F1-Mod-players” :sd:

I think my last fix was the really driveable TouringCarMasters-Mod(wtm)

As for the video, I think I will use it to finally learn this track: I’m always in trouble with the last part of the track and this beautiful cockpit will definitely help me in putting it in mind! 😉

  • http://www.bsimracing.com Arnold Carter Wong

CLK GTR onboard coming in an hour.

  • Der_KHAN

Arnold Carter Wong: it’s the windscreen.

i dont get it. why do people still keep ruining their beautiful mods with this useless effect!? :sad2:

  • klaasvh

Shum94: I start to understand why they didnt win le mans. You cant see shit in their cockpit. It’s an ai driving right ?

Yes, the view from the cockpit isn’t the best. Not sure if it was like this in real life but it’s worth tweaking the eyepoint or fov to make it better.

Der_KHAN: i dont get it. why do people still keep ruining their beautiful mods with this useless effect!?

You are right and it’s certainly something we’ll look into. Once again, I’m not sure if it’s realistic but I think that somethimes you have to sacrifice realisim for playability. We have so many wonderful looking tracks in rF1 so I’m sure many want to see them in full glory and not this effect.

  • Shum94

Shum, really? A post to show you are faster on the Nords?

    Really really :sd:

95% of rF population dont run vln mod and have no clue of what time is a reference.
Just saying the nord who comes with the vlm mod is the best to run to.

There is no doubt you guys do present the best models and textures. However physics on the other hand… We’ve been down this road before with WSGT1. There was plenty of feedback regarding physics, 95% of it constructive, yet it was ignored and flamed by you guys. Rather than actually address the concerns with the physics they took their bat and ball and moved sims.

Arnold sim racing is not massive understeer with no ill consequences.

It is quite apparent from those who have posted, who has had previous experience with WSGT1 and those who have not.

I don’t think we ignored the feedback. We now know that there was definately room for improvement with the WSGT1 physics but we didn’t know that 2 years ago.

Also keep in mind that these physics are far from finished. As we’re waiting for rF2, we’ve spent more times on models textures etc. than we did on physics. Furthermore, the TS020 has tons of downforce and Arnold is definately driving hard and probably ruining his tires in the process.

We’re still looking for a REALLY good physics guru by the way.

  • DeDios

Regarding physics, and going in OT a bit, i hope rF2 will be with a proper editor and manual. I mean something like Trex and..”heavy” manual like 3D studio one 😆

I wonder how it will look with the improved shadows and reflections in rf2

  • Bjorn

The sound is good, it just needs to be turned up a bit 🙂

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbG_NzPCNxU&feature=related

go 1.04 into the video and listen… It’s quite similar and I think that this is the best caption there is of this cars sound from the cockpit.

I might state that ThinlaneT is still working hard on the basic sound setup. Sounds will be tweaked during the Beta phase, and only then we can set volumes and equal the different soundsets. Then there is the fact that we dont know the sound system Rf2 will bring. So sound shaping is the only work at hand , at this moment.

  • Vince Klortho

The problem is you need to set up the gear box and engine files before sounds are finalized. Otherwise your sound guy might be a little irritated at having to remix a bunch of samples. I have seen this happen more than once. 😐

  • Bjorn

    Wix, Vince

    Makes sense!

‘We’re still looking for a REALLY good physics guru by the way.’

With all the self-proclaimed physics experts posting here, you’d think you’d be beating them off with a stick. Someone that can judge physics based on a mere video clip is clearly someone worth hiring.

Personally I think it looks and sounds great, and 6.22 is a pretty respectable time around that course, I’d say, but then again, I’m no PRO. I’ll definitely be grabbing it.

  • FanLebowski

wsgt team works a lot for us 😉 to have some awesome cars fastly on rf2.

if they don’t show their wip, everybody says that they don’t work, and if they show some videos or screens, we can read that there is too much polys, the physics or sound are bads …

enjoy good parts on the previews and don’t forget that is an alpha preview :sd:

  • klaasvh

That’s why I said ‘really’ We’re looking for someone who can not only judge physics based on this video but who can also make a complete physics set for this car within hours and claims it’s the best ever, without even driving the car. 😉

Seriously, there might be a chance you all can get to try our physics and judge them four yourselves within months.

‘The comment section here has really gone downhill after rob started covering consoles.’

From what I’ve seen the PC sim community is quite capable of destroying itself with infighting.

Lots of people in this community seem to have lost their passion for cars and seem incapable of enjoying anything that is not 100% to their liking.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/flaux1 Flaux

Anyway, it has nothing to do with the topic. So we should move on and keep this in mind. Just my 2 cents.

BTW: I’m really excited if and when ISI will knock on your door to give you the proper details on rF2. Must be horrible to wait and keep things open to possible changes… :weird:

  • DevonK

since nobody answered i’ll give it another try… what version of the nürburgring is that in the video? anyone? 🙂

well when i get in my car the sky is just as bright as it is outside. if i look very closely at a half-open side window there is like a 0.2% difference but it’s negligible. after all it’s clear glass and not sunglasses.

imo tinting glass is a legacy effect that people used in old 3d engines that had no reflections. it made sense in ego-shooters where it was the only way of telling the difference between an intact window and one that had been shot. but inside a car you only see the tinted glass all around, so you dont even know the real brightness of the outside surrounding. all this achieves is making the surrounding darker. i never felt like this gives me the impression of looking through clear glass and how could it…

Good point made. However , the way the glass looks is hardly a point of interest at this stage. like stated before,it will all depend on the features and dev process in rF2. So for now this is not something we should worry about.
