Strap In For A Wild Ride – iRacing Dirt In ForceDynamic’s Simulator

Force Dynamics has released a new video of their 401cr simulator, showing it in action with iRacing’s recently-released dirt racing content.

Designed and built by Force Dynamics, the 401cr is able to generate over a G of acceleration, giving users the idea what it is like to drive in a real race car.

According to Force Dynamics, the simulator can do two things no other simulator can: Provide a perfect one-to-one ratio between vehicle rotation and simulator rotation, and it can do so without washouts or any inverse forces.

More info is available on the Force Dynamics website.

  • Me

Hmmm…not sure how immersive that would be seeing the room spinning by. Would make more sense to me to strap on that Rift behind the seat.

  • JR Armstrong

Stupid looks like a good way to get sick plus a wing sprint car does not move that much.

    • HardRock

The point isn’t that it moves that much, but that by rotating and tilting the rig can emulate the forces acting on your body. Not their exact strength of course, but it’s still better than nothing as far as immersion goes.

  • GamerMuscle

I’d get so motion sick playing that in a well lit room ! VR or with lights off would be good though.

    • Bakkster

In VR, I’m sure that would start getting to the point where I’d be braking early with my self-preservation kicking in. Would be an absolute blast, though.

      • HardRock

Would be the perfect way to get rid of any of that pesky self-preservation non-sense then. 🙂

Also any of that annoying spare cash in my retirement account. 🙂

You spin me right round baby right round like record player right round round round
