rFactor 2 – New Renders & Release Date Info

Two days ago, Image Space Incorporated released a big batch of renders, showing off many of the car models that will be included in their upcoming rFactor 2 simulation.

Even though the renders already included lot of cars from various circuit racing disciplines, the studio has point out that not all included vehicles have been revealed in these renders. Below are some new ones, showing off impressive details on the Formula Renault 3.5 open-wheeler.

The tasty previews have gotten many sim racers excited and there’s more good news on the way as ISI has stated that initial release date info may be available as early as later this week.

rFactor 2 will introduce various improvements to the modding-friendly simulation including weather, driver animations and a refined graphics engine alongside plenty of current and historic motor racing content.

Change the title to “New renders”, my heart almost stopped for nothing when I saw “Release Date Info”.

    yawn

  • Wish Bone

I hope this game doesn’t require online activation or some such BS.

Internet is supposed to be a convience and add value, not the other way around, which is why I will not tether myself to it if I don’t have to… and I am saving $50-$100 a month by NOT subscribing and just using my work or phone to check e-mail, weather, blah blah. I only want to use my home computer for my PERSONAL stuff… not to spread my legs to the world.

All I want to do is load a DVD, click the install button, type in a serial no. and be DONE with it.

So I hope when it is released… that it is something I can “BUY” and not just “lease”.

  • BSR-WiX

bad news for you then. Subscription based gaming is what we will see more and more. When the service is par with the price, i do regard it a benefit.

Nice detail in the tire, Roening – Groening hahahah  πŸ˜€

    bullshit , i want pay once .

  • Maciej Pytel

not till the rest of my life

  • Eduardo Pimentel

I agree. And I hope ISI is also on the boat. I have the full intent on buying rFactor 2.. but if they do put some lease price… I will start looking towards pirating sites..

  • Ed Luna aka eddiespag

It will be a fantastic to experience the ‘new evolution’ of ISI’s tire physics, AI, and FFB. As far as the tire model/physics, I am wondering if ISI’s delay (at least one of the reasons) of rF2 is just to see and take a ‘peek under the hood’ of Dave Kaemmer’s and iRacing’s exhaustive, and expensive investment, new 2.0 tire model development release in August. …and if because iRacing’s team development is better funded, and Gjon Camaj respects Dave Kaemmer, his work and some of those working with him, why not. We shall see and we shall all benefit.

  • BSR-WiX

Then you are exactly the main reason why company´s will go more and more to subscription based products.   I dont say its a perfect world, but i know what i am talking about.  It is the way of the future.  even if we like it or not.

“If you dont do it my way I will steal it”. Grow up.

  • Riches

C’mon, it’s got some nice details, but not much more than some other mods out there for years.
Looking forward how it looks textured in the game!

  • Damjan Čule

yeah, in some other mods, but this is very big improvement over original rFactor models.

  • Dave A.

There are so many ways to protect a game user friendly, none of them are used. Its not the fault of the gamers that games are pirated so much, even i use noDRM files (á nodvd..) on my legal copies cause all the activation shit / Starforce and Co. sucks.

  • F1Racer

If people will resort to a pirated copy because the title is subscription based then clearly subscription based titles are not the answer.

You shouldn’t have to be tethered to the Internet to play racing sims.  iRacing being the exception because of the way it works, its an online sim in itself.

Ubisoft messed all this crap up with Splinter Cell Conviction and Assassins Creed 2 (I think) where ‘Internet connection is required’ was printed on the box.    It doesn’t do anything to deter piracy and only leaves the legit buyers having to jump through more hoops than those with pirated copies.  It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that something is wrong with that picture.

Anyway who said rF2 would be subscription based ?   Has there been some official word on that or are people just presuming ?

  • SergeantBoner

Your credability pretty much is lost when you say you’ve never paid for rF1, do you live on the street or what? The game is cheaper then most games out there.

  • Carbonfibre

That’s pre-emptive discovery of one of the first rF2 mods. πŸ˜‰

  • Carbonfibre

If rF2 ends up to be subscription based – I’ll eat my hat.

I disagree about subscriptions being the future too, corporations won’t find any more money from long term customers than they do over full MSRP payments during the first week of sales. Most games aren’t made to last any more. Saying that, rFactor is a huge exception to this, but we know ISI doesn’t get primary income from rFactor.

  • Marcelo Amaral

rFactor 2 will show how overrated iRacing really is. Compared to rFactor 2 it will lack so many things!

  • Marcelo Amaral

credibility lost for saying the truth? wow this world is upside down!

  • Predrag Drobac

What things exactly? Only thing I can remember is rain…
Only thing that is annoying in iRacing is safety rating (because of retards on track), otherwise it’s almost perfect sim – they are so close to perfection, maybe after summer update with new tire model will be perfect.

  • Eric Jondon

It WOULD be the perfect sim if they didn’t charge for every little thing AND have the audacity to charge a monthly fee.

If they could charge you for your tyres in game, they bloody would.

And in my experience with it (and yes, unlike some, I have actually had an iRacing account), it’s basically a moderately good sim with a very small selection of cars and tracks, no AI, and some of the biggest idiots I’ve ever come across on track.

Give me rF2, GTR etc… ANY DAY.

  • stabiz

None of us have tried rf2 yet, it will probably be great, but if you prefer GTR – any title in Simbins portfolio – over iRacing there is something wrong with you.

And Marcelo, it will take ages before rFactor 2 is at its peak. Modders have LOTS of work to do, because even if they port rf tracks into rF2 they will still be pretty versions of rF1 tracks, and we all know there is not exactly tons of good ones.

But yeah, just carry on the iRacing inferiority complex so many seem to have. Its almost so I wish rF2 is subscribtion based, just to see all the rage from the many (I am sure) pirates that didnt even buy rF1.

  • SergeantBoner

Lol what? Yes he told the truth, but when confessing of crimes one should neither condone it or be proud of it, you dont seem to get it. The fact that he has rF without paying for it is a crime…

  • SergeantBoner

oh and Its pretty cool to like your own posts? ..Your world has gone upside down!

  • The Biff

Awesome news and awesome pics!  I can’t wait.  I really don’t know why everybody wants to compare rF2 to iracing as iracing is strictly for morons who believe advertising hype.

  • PvtStash

Who cares what sim you enjoy, the point is you enjoy it. All this ” my sim is better than your sim ” crap is so patently stupid, they all have their own little things that make them good and also things that could be better. Why give someone a hard time because they see things different to you? It’s called an opinion and surprisingly, we are ALL entiltled to have one. It would be nice to see something along the lines of I respect your opnion but however, do not agree. Instead we get abuse, more or less. To those who think it’s funny to try and annoy other poeple just to see what happens, either grow up or piss off. I am looking forward to rF2, not because I think it will be better or worse than sim “x”, but simply because it gives me new toys and new places to explore. I have always enjoyed rF1 and see no reason for that to change with the arrival of rF2. Happy racing all.

  • Damjan Čule

look, not everyone can afford to buy every game he likes.
I know it is crime, to be more precise it is stealing, but lik I said in time I found out for rF1 I couldn’t afford it. Now, it is little stupid to buy something which will be changed with something new in 6 months or so…

  • Riches

What did iRacing do to you that you are so negative all the time about it?
Even on news topics that are not even about iRacing.
These iPeople have a product you can buy or don’t.
But you just keep bashing them for no apparent reason at all.

Before you start his fanboy shit.
I play mostly rFactor, as i develop content on this platform.

  • The Biff

” but if you prefer GTR – any title in Simbins portfolio – over iRacing there is something wrong with you. ”

@stabiz…LMFAO.   You are a complete moron.  You are proof that the average iracing fanboy has the IQ of a old pair of shoes.

  • stabiz

Well put, internet warrior.  πŸ˜€  I dont know what iRacing has done to you, but I enjoy the pain its causing.

  • The Biff

Do you live on this site stabiz?  lol.  Get a life bud!  Any life will do!  hahahaha.  Maybe get off of iracing for awhile, go outside and get some sun.  It is summer after all.  LMFAO at the fact it took you a whole 2 minutes to respond to me.

  • RTL

Montoya really needs to ban this fanboy freak asap, he’ll never learn!!

  • Alessio Presti

Today is sunday but nothing -.-
