R3E – First Multiplayer Preview Video

A first video of multiplayer racing in Simbin’s RaceRoom Racing Experience title has been released.

When it comes to Simbin’s RaceRoom Racing Experience title, two things are continuesly being asked for by the community: AI and multiplayer.

It seems like the latter request is due to be answered rather soon as a first video of multiplayer racing in the free to play title has surfaced at Racedepartment.

The video shows a multiplayer test race at Zandvoort, using a pack of BMW 320 TC WTCC cars, also confirming the future addition of WTCC content to R3E.

An ETA for the release of the multiplayer mode has not been revealed yet but it seems like the days of R3E being confined to hotlapping only are due to be over rather soon.

Now I can reinstall RRRE once MP is released, the time of the day lighting looks brilliant 1st class.

    • feels3

I can tell you that it looks even better when you drive a car from cockpit view πŸ™‚

      • kosmo1982

congratulations on joining simbin!:D looking forward what you can do with their engine, love your tracks in rf2!

      • fkkamil

Hej feels, podaj dane do Twojego konta steam:D:D

Feels3 your work is outstanding. I would gladly pay for your tracks in RF2. I know you are track builder, but since there is no answer from simbin about 3D vision I hope you can answer me. Will 3D Vision be supported or not? Thanks.

  • zerez86

Looks good so far. There’s also a honda civic in it.

    • Olivier D’Aubioul

Yes indeed! Honda lovers rejoice! first rf2 now here πŸ™‚

  • PΓ©ter KerΓ©nyi

I’ve never been a fan and user of RRRE, but the second the remove those ugly brake markers and add packs such as WTCC and the already released DTM, with at least AI, preferably with multi as well, I’ll certainly give it a go with positive attitude. It’s heading the right way.
It had my curiosity before, now it has my attention πŸ™‚

    Finally !

Even if a simulator has average physics if they do the multi-player well its worth playing just for the gameplay that comes from on-line racing.

From my Time with R3E I think it has potentail to be a fantastic and fun multi-player racer , GTRE provided awesome BTCC style racing and was the only simulator to allow for proper car contact without it causing insta death/insta spin.

  • Jann Dircks

    320tc! Hell yeah!

  • Tomasz Kubiak

    Finally a new WTCC content!

  • Alex White

At last! With the removal of the brake markers and the addition of multiplayer, this is beginning to look like it could be quite good πŸ™‚

  • Jos

I like how the racing line looks, but thats static right?

  • damys

how many cars are free ?

    • David Wright

  • Chris Wright

Well I guess those of us who’ve kept the faith and invested in more or less all the add ons for RRE are about to get a terrific ROI πŸ™‚

This looks incredible. What more is there to say, other than “please tell us when?” πŸ™‚

    • Paul Thompson

I was in it from the start, you only have to look at the companies back catalog to understand that they had all of that to re-release in a new updated format. It was a win win for us πŸ˜€

  • Eric S

Color me surprised and well, actually excited. I think some new hirings by these folks may move things in a positive direction. Good for them. Looking forward to this

  • I S A

show us the contact between cars, in multiplayer mode, the big problem gtr2

    Contactless gt racing are boring!

    • GamerMuscle

GTRE was one of the best games for contact on-line racing.

  • David Wright

Ah now the Sonoma Raceway announcement makes sense – its part of the WTCC 2013. I had lost interest in the WTCC a few years ago as it seemed to be in decline but checking out the 2013 season there are some nice tracks and fair mix of cars. Things are looking up πŸ™‚

  • Patrik Marek

this is something that might get be back into RRRE

  • Petros Dialektakis

To be honest: that was about time and really neccessary! I’m eagerly looking forward to give RRRE another try. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

  • Pablo Coronel

This are the same models as Race 07? can use those liverys?

    • zerez86

      it’s a completely new model

    • Marcus Reynolds

A real cut above, the detail in the rims is particularly pleasing as well, rims to be proud of, there is also multiple different rims depending on team.

  • Deatroy

When its out, i will give it a go again with the 5 free cars.

  • GamingCanuck

    Great news.

are they still using a silly in-game currency instead of real money prices? that’s another step they could take to make it more appealing. I absolutely hate in-game currencies.

I still don’t know how MP is expected to work well when you have to buy separate content though. If i don’t have a certain track i won’t be able to join a certain event, perhaps? Or maybe i buy a cool track and no one uses it online or has bought it so it’s wasted money? I’d rather they do bundles like the old simbin titles, a touring bundle, gt bundle, and so on, so more people interested in a specific class have matched content, which in turn means online races will be more full and concentrated with users.

Basically, this title really needs to revamps it’s pricing model. I know i won’t buy anything until i know the state of how people are setting up online races and servers, how busy they are, etc.

Back when they announced it it sounded a little like this: You need to buy the track the online race is taking place on and at least one car from the class being in use. You don’t need all GT3 cars to participate in a GT3 MP-race. But as I said this was a long time ago and things tend to change..

  • Wesley Modderkolk

What is AI and multiplayer doing in a hotlapping competition?

  • Mario Strada

Once this is out, maybe they can review their livery policy. Having to pay for liveries, especially when they are either almost identical to the default or ugly as sin is a joke. Plus simbin will miss out on what is a large part of the audience by preventing people from building and sharing liveries.

    • Patrik Marek

if nobody buys them, it will deliver the message really fast

    • Anonymous

I have to agree immensely taking away the creativity of the communities is not a good policy.

    • Marcus Reynolds

A livery sharing system is wanted of course, but I am guessing will never be released in an unfinished state, a little patience will see people happier in the end I am sure.
