R3E – Corner Makers To Disappear Soon

Simbin has announced to address one of many people’s major complaints about their R3E title – The fictional track corner makers.

Simbin has announced to address one of many people’s major complaints about their R3E title – The fictional track corner makers.

As of now, tracks in RaceRoom Racing Experience and DTM Experience are equipped with large and colorful fictional corner-makers that certainly make the title’s easier approachable for novice drivers but ruin a lot of the immersion for sim racers.

Now, Simbin has announced that the corner markers will be possible to be switched off soon, to be replaced with the real-life corner markers of each track.

Since this change requires all tracks to be altered, Simbin will release the new feature in several patches, each of which will be about 1 gigabytes in size. The release of the patches is due to start in about three weeks time.

Credit’s due, at least they have a sense of humor about it 🙂

    • F1Racer

Yeah haha. That video made me laugh 🙂

  • Rodrigo Borba

The multiplayer disappear too LOL !

  • Dani .

Great news, it’s a good point that they listen to the 0.1% of players complaining about this. That’s the heavy weight of old school of simracers. Nice to know.

Boom Boom Out Go The Markers!!!

  • Chris Wright

Great that they can have fun at their expense like this. Even better that RRE and DTM will no longer be blighted by this silliness.

Yep, but the purple and lime green crowds…

  • Kreshnik Halili

    awesome =)

Still the fans will have flags the size of an house.

    • Kai

but you can turn them off, set track details to low or something like that – but how can i do this is pcars??? these are ugly as hell, too 😀

It would be nice if this racing sim had some sort of RACING!!

It does have the AI which has received some patching for adaptive ability. AFM I would rather have an old school slider style difficulty setting rather than being run over by an AI running at 120% levels till the adaptive feature kicks in.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s too little too late to get the sim crowd back? If offering a full blown sim with aids is almost sacrilege to some than surely going first for casual racers and then sim guys won’t work.

    Granted, it’s SimBin.

I for one am not gonna dig that deep into the idea of what audience SimBin was possibly trying to attract with some of the features and modes as long as game play is up to standards that I enjoy and FTMP it is. I think a little bit here and there as far as small changes the addition of MP and I think they will be fine. Will they corner the market? I would say no but let’s hope they maintain a positive level of success!

I agree that they totally misjudged the demographic of their potential customer base. I sense they have learned that lesson and now will hopefully position themselves to give iRacing a hard time, although iRacing has made some big strides lately with the latest tire model, so that’s not going to be easy either.

    • Chris Wright

They are going to have to price themselves back into the market, it’s never too late if they get that right.

    What a waste of resources.
