I remember when pCARS news attracted commenters.
After one year after release, things have changed…

    • Leeman

I comment on PCars. I just don’t care about VR support. At least, not yet.

    • Chillisteak

Your comment alone proves people still comment on Project CARS news 😛

  • Tom Coombs

pCARS news still gets commentors. I don’t get what you’re on about really?

pCars is finally coming into it’s own slot in PC Sim Racing. Modding is moving forward. Create your own mixed Grids is here. Create your own championships. At least 8 high quality modded cars. And it’s just a delight to drive and race the A.I. Make your own Grid of 55 cars at Nords Combined. Have a blast racing in changing weather and time of day. Also at Le Mans. No other game offers all that pCars now does. And I hear tracks, modded are being worked on. OK, all you moaners, take your shots at me.

Was worried they were going to forget about the Vive given how much they pushed the launch of the Oculus.
Glad to see that isn’t the case as this is one of my main games and the Vive is the headset I’ll be going for shortly.

Tried it last night with my vive and it’s a huge improvement on the revive method of getting it to work. Pop in was completely gone and I was able to run it maxed with the few decent sized grids I tried with seemingly no performance issues. This is the future of sim racing. It’ll probably be the 2nd or even 3rd generation headsets before it’s for everyone as at the moment some just couldn’t get over the resolution but for those like myself who can put that to one side the immersion is just epic. I won’t be getting rid of my 42″ triples just yet but it’s so much fun fighting in the middle of a pack with a VR headset on.

    • Revive injector used sub-low settings. I tried it the day before vive support was implemented, and the drawing distance was so short … even the lowest settings in pcars don’t have so short drawing distance and so close LOD switch.

But i’m surprised, you played with the game maxed?

      • Slim_Boy_Fat

Yes, I have more to add. I didn’t initially delete the xml files as suggested. I did however delete them last night and when I maxed the settings I was getting stuttering so had to lower them. So I think the fact that I initially didn’t delete the xml files meant that my maxing the settings was not recognised by the game.

Works well I thought I’d make a video showing it off and talking about how it compares to the rift support / playing pcars on the rift

  • Ernie

Has the shadow rendering problem in VR been fixed in Patch 11?
