For an early version, this is already SUPERB!! A few laps around Brands…what a blast! Imagine if one day we’ll have a fullfield o this fantastic BTCC era,,,gosh!

    THANKS Patrik!

  • pupsbubi

    Nice

  • Matthew Arnold

Hey Patrik, Just had a few laps at Spa in your baby 🙂

This is lots of fun to drive, physics seem solid, especially for an early version.

And the modelling is done really well to. I’m not familiar with this car so cannot judge how accurate it is, but i had a good look around with the free camera and it looks really good.

Thanks for getting us an early viewing 🙂 You didn’t have to do that, so just know its appreciated.

Good luck with future endeavors 🙂

I agree with everything said here.

Just had a handful of laps around Silverstone. It’s as good as I thought it would be.
Car model at this stage looks really good. I like the handling too.
Very nice job Patrik and others involved in this car. Thanks for your contributions.

Can’t wait to try this tonight, looks fantastic!

  • TC

Great modeling. Found handling ok, but I think it needs to improve physics aspect (not criticizing!), that it surely will do in next versions.

    • Sim Antics

I thought the handling was great even if I don’t like the Spec Gear Ratios and hammering on the Rev Limiter in 6th. I also didn’t check if there was a less grippy tire offered that some people may enjoy. I find other things in place to add realistic difficulty in AC other than ungrippy tires.

      • kkacper

You know, best way of actually having less grip is just to pick the “Old” surface configuration. I’ve not used optimal for a while, I’m having a lot of fun on the “slow” as it actually has some grip but not too much as for the cars to feel like they’re on rails 🙂

      • Sim Antics

Yes you are right about the ability to change track condition and I posted to the effect that I think it’s a good idea to change track condition more so then degrading the service of the tire.

Anyway FTMP for the different cars I find that the tires I would normally choose provide a good and believable amount of grip and a good and believable amount of loss of grip and that the tight track configurations offer a bit of challenge.

      • Patrik Marek

well there are soft/medium and hard tires provided, hard tires should have less grip – you can try those out

    • David Hughes

I think the problem with the physics is just the real life physics problem that FF cars are crappy to drive!
Good work on the mod so far, but I doubt I will spend much time with any front wheel drive car unfortunately.

      • TC

I hear that a lot from my community friends since Race06-Race07, but i think FWD are fun to drive, and a kind of a challenge too.

Since yesterday i’ve runned Primera a lot (even in servers), it’s fun and provides fun races.

  • Rudy van Buren

    Quick preview around Imola!

  • pastor_tedhaggard

what is a LOD? i type in google ‘pc game LOD’ but don’t get anything…..

    • Justin Schmidt

different levels of quality of the model.(level of detail) high detail model when the car is close to the camera and the further the car goes away it switches to lower and lower quality models.(for performance)

      • Patrik Marek

yes exactly that, reduced quality models for when the car is small in the view, so that it’s saves FPS, because at bigger distance, you can’t really see the detail anymore,

Of course it needs to be done well, so that you wont’ see “pop” from one LOD to another

      • BackMarker

thanks for the explanation. my ocd kicks in everytime I watch an AC vid with car graphics “popping” in and out. haha

  • http://derekspearedesigns.com/ Derek Speare

    Great stuff!

  • Hugo Stiglitz

    I’ll have to try it.

Been really enjoying AC since 1.0 was released. Really digging the career mode.

    • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ PetrolheadDen

Me too! Career modes usually just irritate me but this one has me sucked right in.

      • tejohr

I still cannot do it properly as long as it keeps me on the end of the grid when it says I’m starting second.

      • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ PetrolheadDen

That changes after the first lap. Wish that header on the bottom could be removed to be honest but don’t see an option.

      • noneofyourbusiness

You mean the bottom learderboard? That is F9

      • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ PetrolheadDen

        Thanks!! That is great!!

  • http://s1.zetaboards.com/SimSkinsByDen/index/ PetrolheadDen

Drove it around Imola for a couple laps. Other then the hands not lining up with the steering wheel, I have to say I was quite impressed by the quality. I been worried about that with Asssetto and also rFactor2 after some of the abysmal stuff that was released for rFactor1. This mod is definitely a good sign!
