Codemasters have announced that another patch for their F1 2016 title is due to be made available in the coming 24 hours.

Patch 1.51 will introduce the following changes:

  • Fixed a crash loading specific mid-session saves from a previous version.
  • Fixed the LCD display on the steering wheel not always showing the current gear.
  • Fixed a multiplayer bug that would sometimes show players who pit under the safety car as being in first place which led to the queue breaking and penalties being awarded incorrectly.
  • Players who disconnect now behave like players who have paused, they will ghost and drive at the chosen AI difficulty level.
  • The session starts in countdown will no longer reset when a new player joins the lobby.
  • Fixed a number of crash bugs

The patch is expected to hit the Xbox One version first, with Playstation 4 and the PC version following shortly after.

“Players who disconnect now behave like players who have paused, they will ghost and drive at the chosen AI difficulty level.”

why it took forever to figure out this ? best solution for MP racing disconnects imo
    good job codies

It is pretty smart. Plus it means if you get a net problem you can rejoin the MP race when you reconnect.
I’ve heard the AI will only drive for you for 5 mins though. Can’t confirm that..

Some players need to just let the AI drive for them as they don’t know how to drive an open wheel like their butts on the line in my opinion. 😛

not sure, but I always though of AI taking over ( btw. meaning that’s how it should work, not that codies or anyone else done that) and drive into pits, where the car goes into garage. if player reconnects, he would drive out of pits, or if he reconnects quickly he would get back behind the wheel before car gets to pits

yeah, sounds like no brainer to me and would make so many people happy
