Mak Corp – Touring Car Classics Mod Announced

Following their Formula One Classics mod, Mak Corp has released the next WIP project for rFactor 2 – Touring Car Classics.

Following their Formula One Classics mod, Mak Corp has released the next WIP project for rFactor 2 – Touring Car Classics.

The mod will bring iconic touring cars from various series such as the WTCC, ETCC, DTM, BTCC as well as Japanese and Australian Series to rFactor 2.

Instead of focusing on complete seasons of each series, Mak Corp will be combining the most iconic cars from all series into one package.

The first beta of the mod is due to be released in Q1 2014 for rFactor 2, an Assetto Corsa version will follow once modding is possible on the new platform.

Below are first previews of the mod, showing renders of the 1993 Ford Falcon EB of Australian Touring Car Championship fame.

This is one of my favourite series/eras; still love to spend time with TCL for rFactor. This is therefore great news, if it feels and sounds as good as it looks. Love that last, interior shot!

    • Realkman666

Yes, I’ll have to buy a good shifter.

The perfect mod to go with your new Lakeside build Mike! 🙂

  • Rhys Gardiner

Sim racing has needed a mod like this for years. I’ve always wanted to give the proto-V8 Supercars a whirl!

  • lol

oh look another mak corp mod announcement, Thats about 20 now. How many released in 7 years? 1. Keep the trolling going though. In before you fav fanboy f1racer comes in and defends you like the dedicated muppet he is. This moron actually become a mod here just so he could defend mak corp and protect their trolling. How pathetic is that? lol

    • Realkman666

I guess you missed the two rF2 mods that we released recently.

  • IAg Gai

I will believe it when I see it. But I will not hold my breath. Mak you sure have a lot of passion but my advise is start releasing what you have promised before adding more stuff. The only reason people are speaking negatively is because of your past record. By all means prove us wrong but dude please try to concentrate on one or two projects at a time.

We have released 4 mods in four months. Maybe people should start paying attention. Vehicles are developed by what the modelers like to model. When they are near ready to be released, we show them and state the mod they will be in. This vehicle is planned to be released in Q1 2014 so we’re showing it off with the name of the mod so no one else comes out and grabs the mod name and then claims we’re copying them. Trust me, there are countless of vehicles we haven’t shown or announced. But we have released four mods in four months, one of them perceived as the best car in rF2 at the moment. I think people need to lay off the past and see what we’ve actually been doing this year.

      • IAg Gai

I did not say you have not. What I am saying is that in the past you have announced a lot of mods and we are still waiting for them. I just suggesting you hold off on announcing new mods until you have released the ones you have already announced. As I said you have a lot of passion for the sim racing community but you have to accept that the track record of MAK announcing mods but us not seeing them has not helped your rep. How’s the progress of your own game going?

      • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

yes in the past we did, which is why we stopped announcing mods anymore unless they are over 80% completed for the base release. F1 2008 Mod is in rF2 and being worked on currently. The Group C mod collaboration in the past we had made we stopped the collaboration when we found out the team we were working with was using models from other people without permission and we didn’t want to be a part of that. The 2006 F1 mod we canceled in favor of developing the 2007 F1 mod that we released simply because CTDP were making a 2006 mod and we didn’t see the point of doing the same season. F1 1994 mod, well modelers didn’t stick around and other modelers lost motivation, but the Mclaren MP4/9 we showed recently which is in game in rF2 and being worked on for release very soon. Sooner than you all expect.

The Initial D mod, unfortunately all the modelers who had wanted to work on that either disappeared or decided to go on their own and do high poly modeling. I cannot control what modders do, I can only hope they will produce what they say. I learned from that lesson however and the last couple years I have not shown any cars we have been doing, and there is a large number of them. I refrain from showing some cars that are even in game and over 80% ready. But vehicles very soon to be released go out to be shown.

I understand where your coming from, and I agree with you, but wait and see, you will be surprised with the way MAK-Corp has changed. The years have brought experience, the team has changed with new people who are more dedicated and reliable, we have released four mods in four months and aim to release much much more. These are just words of course, but wait and see what more is coming and you will be happy to see that MAK-Corp will not be as dead as it was in rF1. 🙂

      • IAg Gai

Good then it sounds like your doing the right thing finally. End of the day as the saying goes “Proof will be in the pudding”.

  • Elton Veoitao
