Mak Corp has released new previews of their Classic Cars mod, showing off three liveries on the Mazda 787B

The 787B is one of the most famous Le Mans cars of all time, being the first rotary-powered as well as the first and only Japanese car to win the event in 1991, driven by Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler & Bertrand Gachot.

Mak Corp has high-flying plans for their classic cars mod as versions for rFactor, rFactor 2, RACE07, Assetto Corsa and GTR3 are planned.

    Wow !, Lovin that

  • Jim

lol the same old story with MMG. Endless model and livery previews, and hype and no mods. Its been 5 years since the last mod release, and they have only released 1 mod ever, so its amazing anyone still takes these jokers seriously, and stop allowing them to waste virtualr;s bandwidth with this nonsense.

    • Anonymous

Care to make us a mod yourself mate?

    • F1Racer

So what do you think they are doing now ? Modelling these cars for nothing ?

      Quit yer trolling.

      • Jim

They must be , what other explanation do you have for them releasing no mods in 5 years, yet so many different previews? You can create a whole game in 5 years. You should not be defending and promoting frauds. Your a mod you should know better, and be more responsible. The only trolling around here is from MMG

      • F1Racer

I don’t need to have an explanation. There are plenty of mod teams that haven’t released anything for years.
But it is quite clear they are working on this mod actively as we have seen the progress and they have not been working on this mod for 5 years. You have to assume from that, that their intention is to release it when it’s done.
You’re just another MMG hater who wants to hate on them for the sake of it and talk as if they owe you something.

You need to look up the meaning of the word fraud too because you’re using that word out of context. And it’s not so much as I’m defending them but rather defending VirtualR against trolling which is what you are doing.
About telling me what I should know better as a mod…. don’t even go there !

Go and spread your hate somewhere else. If you make another post like your first one and talk down to me again, it will be your last.

      • Jim

Other mod teams do not constantly claim to be working on 100 mods and making promises, and posting renders of 100 mods on websites. They are just hot air and wasting everyones time including this website which is why this site should not be promoting them because they are exploiting you.

That is why they are a laughing stock, and i cant beleive anyone still takes them seriously lol. How many different mods have they announced in the their history and how many have they released? LOL.

      • F1Racer

Time will tell then won’t it. And if they do release this mod are we going to hear an apology from you and an admittance that you were wrong ? Like I said, these models aren’t being made for no reason so people must be actively working on them. We have seen now quite a few cars for this mod so we know it is progressing. So it would be silly not to post this progress as it is sim news. If it doesn’t get released or whatever then so be it. In the grand scheme of things it’s not like you’ve lost some money. All it’s cost you is that you’ve read the odd thread and seen some pictures. Unless you want to post and ridicule them in which case it costs you that effort as well.
A couple of mods they announced in the past have not made it out for one reason or another but that doesn’t mean this classic car mod won’t. The progress on this one seems to be pretty regular. So I would say give them the benefit of the doubt on this one and don’t be so judgemental and insult people who have done you no harm. It’s not like they are trying to con you or make people disappointed. Sometimes things don’t work out and sometimes they do.

At first I was like “wow, mod looking great” but after reading Jims comment I actually agree with him 100%.
Some mod groups just AREN’T going to EVER release anything. Why do they keep teasing us – I don’t know, Jim doesn’t know it either – you have to ask those modders, not us. What about teamplayers and their 1955 mod? What about VLM and their group C mod?
Now, especially VLM already gave us lots of TOP quality work for which we are all very grateful but it’s naive to think that everything what’s being worked on will be released, something just won’t.

Nobody believes these mods will ever go public, and this story sounds similar.

      • F1Racer

They don’t believe it simply because it is not released and they feel they are being cheated (or as you say teased) so this is the only explanation they can resort to. Hope and a lack of patience turns to resentment and you end up with assumptions and guesses.
Again these mod groups don’t owe you a mod. Why don’t you ask VLM where their long awaited mod is ? Maybe life got in the way for some members. Maybe they scrapped it or maybe they are devoting time to other things right now.
Whatever the reason it’s their business and totally up to them.
It just goes to show that not every mod gets completed and there can be loads of different and justifiable reasons why.
I’m sure none of them are to deliberately deceive anyone.

So what do you think is happening with this classic car mod? Are the previews from this mod just here to tease us with something we will never see ? Are the modelers and texture artists working on something just to annoy us ? Or…. could it possibly be that the goal of this mod is to have it finished and released at some point and some people don’t have the patience to wait so instead they resort to the kind of rhetoric we see from Jim ?

      • Anonymous

Reason could be (at least thats what I heard) that they have certain intentions to go professional so they just want to show off their work now, while still not being paid when they dont have to deal with licenses.
I doubt they are going to release publicly.

Either way, not much point in showing it here on virtualr.

      • F1Racer

Well it got shown. So I guess this must all be lies… “versions for rFactor, rFactor 2, RACE07, Assetto Corsa and GTR3 are planned.”

      • Anonymous

Maybe not lies on purpose but just because they say they plan it doesn’t mean its gonna happen.
I could also say our mod is gonna be in rf2, gtr3, ac with 100% chance but you don’t see me saying it beacuse its too ambitious and probably not gonna happen.
IMO they shouldnt say it but whatever.

      • F1Racer

Then the same should apply to all mod makers. No announcement of future plans. No teasers. We just want to know when it’s released. Is that it ? Or does the rule only apply to MAK ?

So basically you think its ambitious, so therefore it probably won’t happen, so lets give them some verbal.

Anyway if you’ve been keeping up, they already said that having the mod released on all these platforms (particularly rF2 and AC) will depend on the mod structure, amount of work, modability etc etc. As for GTR3, well no-one knows if that sim will even happen. But I think that plan is, that if it does, they would like to convert the mod to that.
I don’t think anyone has promised anything. But it’s not a bad thing to have these targets. If they meet them and the mod is good then they have done the community a service.

How much does this mod actually matter to you anyway ? Is it the case that if it doesn’t get released that you will be majorly disappointed ? It doesn’t sound like it will be that big a deal for you (or Jim) if it doesn’t surface, yet we’re hearing the most sound from you both.
This should only bother you this much if the failure of the mod to appear would break your heart. Otherwise just do as most people do and wait it out and hope it goes get there because I’m sure that’s what they are aiming for. Don’t see them doing these previews for nothing.

      • Anonymous

I definitely WOULD like to see this released. rf1 is, by far, the sim I still play the most. I own both pcars and rf2 but those just arent finished yet. Im sure I will keep playing rf1 at least for another year ;).

      • F1Racer

Yep me too. Too many good mods on there.

      • Ash (ADUBZ)

OK guys, I have been reading through the comments and while their are some valid points there are a few things that have been taken out of context (Jim). What better than to hear it from the horse’s mouth? I am the main person actually working on the mod so I can say exactly whats going on. If someone would of actually done some reading they would of noted that I announced Beta testing for the mod within a month or two on ISIForums, not 100% sure on a date but it depends on how quick the Sound & Physics guys can punch them out. Currently as it stands the mod is being made in rF1 first, once the car is completed to my satisfaction then I transfer it to rF2 and adding all the new features.

Rest assured the classic cars mow will be out, as these cars are true legends we are putting our best work into doing them justice and that sometimes does take time.

      • Anonymous

Well, that’s fantastic to hear, didnt expect that.

      • F1Racer

..and I rest my case. Thanks Ash.

The models are extremely well done and the liveries look great. The modeler certainly knows his stuff. I do hope I get to see this car in the game.

Thank you guys for all your work

  • Stephen

Nice Forza model with a few upgrade!

    • Petros Mak

We build our models from scratch, we don’t use game models. Get your facts straight before you post comments.

  • devotid

Its crazy that VirtualR will run a story of just 3 “preview pics”………..When I have been sending in “articles” to them of my “released and available” RC racing simulation that i created from scratch with NO response at all………….only to be ignored for “renders”….lol.

Its called RCSIM ( never released a single picture or any hype photo before it was done….(maybe i should have and then gotten this kind of coverage:).

  • devotid

you should release it for nintendo, nintendo 64, PS2, PS3, XBOX, XBOX 360, commadore 64, iPhone, IOS and toasters too…… I mean if your going to be this ambitious……i say go for it all!!!

  • myvracelog

these cars were available 5 years ago for gtr2, i have the mod some where in my stuff.
