Inside Red Bull’s rFactor Pro Simulator – Video

Over the past few weeks, the Red Bull Formula One team has released several videos showing various Formula One tracks in their professional-grade simulator.

Now, a new video has been released, showing us some behind the scenes footage of their their rFactor Pro-powered simulator.

Right now, the video is only available in German has Sebastian Vettel gives viewers tour of the high-tech simulator. The world championship hopeful explains how Red Bull’s simulator has become more important now that mid-season testing is limited.

The simulator’s telemetry system is compatible to the one used in the real cars on track, allowing the team to trade setups between the simulator and the real car and improve and check setups during the Grand Prix weekends.

I wonder if it accurately simulates knocking your team mate off the road also πŸ˜†

I never knew until know that my German is so bad!

I think Seb Vettel did say, “I’ve got to keep practicing turning in on my team mate. He is crazy so I must dispose of him!” πŸ˜†

p.s. I love you guys. Thanks for your funny sense of humour!

He added “alles cunt” which means that everyone in the team will back him up in case he tries to move his team mate out of the way.

love one of the comments on simracer64’s link:

“Does it simulate having to yield to Vettel for no reason other than team favouritism and team orders?”

Brings into perspective the cry babies Frank and the site owner acting as though the Redbull sim was some kind of community created effort, shamelessly stolen to advertise fizzy drinks πŸ™„

for all the non believers who thought an f1 team wouldnt possibly use something as primitive as rfactor pro for their testing – 0WNED.

With all the money involved one would think they could afford creating accurate tracks for their simulator.
As long as they use the same “cheap” tracks we do, there is no way they get profound data out of that sim.

  • Firestarter

They should atleast put in some AI cars that simulates Webber and Vettel with a realistic damage model.

maybe they only use the textures and trackside objects from the community tracks.
