Indycar 2014 Carset for rF2 – Released

boxer has released a full 2014 season Indycar skin pack for rFactor 2.

Almost a  year ago, Image Space Incorporated released the Dallara DW12 Indycar for rFactor 2, introducing only a handful of real liveries among plenty of fictional ones.

For those who want the full realism of a real Indycar season grid, boxer has now released a complete carset 2014 season Indycar liveries!

The complete car set does not only come with all 2014 season cars, it also includes special Indy 500 paint schemes and matching talent files for the cars.

Needless to say, the original Indycar release needs to be installed for these to work!

At last. A simple addition to this mod that will make a huge difference.

Regular season and 500 and talent files! This is the attention to detail we rF2 drivers love. Fewer good quality mods are better than many lesser quality ones.

    • Chris Wright

Just surprising how long it has taken to get to this point, however. Based on previous experience, I expected a full Indy carset within a month of the release of the DW12.

      • Marc Collins

Better late than never. ISI announcing almost immediately after release that the DW-12 needed an update probably didn’t help. We are still waiting for that, of course. It will be one year next month.

      • Chris Wright

Meantime new cars keep coming out. Not a good way to run things in my view.

      • Gui Cramer

I think the creator was waiting for possible changes or updates. Plus the templates aren’t always friendly like the helmets, which are a pain in the butt.

Great stuff. Thanks for this, boxer.

It’s amazing how hard rF2 makes it to just add skins. I use to have to create my own mods just so I didn’t have to race against three 370z cars and it was a pain. I thought about doing it from the DW12 but thanks to this mod no pain only pleasure !!! THANKS A LOT !!!

Given the success of rF1 modding, the adage of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it should have applied. The simplicity of inserting files and folders in a sim really can’t be beaten, as most everyone understands the idea.

      • The Associat0r

rF1’s modding model didn’t work well in multiplayer. rF2’s model improved it a lot.

      • Chris Wright

Fair comment, but they still could have made it less user unfriendly in my view.

      • Mark Bass

Yea for skins at least can’t beat AC’s drop in a folder, pull out the cars you don’t want, done ! Well until an major update puts in empty folders that are missing and now you have white cars in the race. I’ve been putting 1_FOLDERNAME in my skins do the next AC update that puts unwanted ones in I know where all my IMSA BMW 1M cars are.

  • HammerX

    Sweet! THANK YOU!!!

  • Kev

    Good stuff. Thanks, Boxer.

    Was the car ever fixed?
