iHUD for iRacing & LFS – Now Available

iHUD for iOS devies is now also available for iRacing & Live for Speed.

Two weeks ago, MightyGate released their iHUD app that allows iOS devices to be used as data displays for rFactor.

Now, the iHUD functionality has been expanded to other simulations as the app is also available for iRacing & Live for Speed.

Like the rFactor version, the app comes in two parts. One is a free plugin that can be downloaded off the MightyGate website, the other is the actual app that is available in iTunes (here & here).

The apps allow to display various data such as speed and times, not all data is available from both sims though as you can see below:

iRacing Version

  •   RPM.
  •   Speed.
  •   Times:
  •       Best lap.
  •       Best sector.
  •       Current Lap.
  •       Relative time with the car behind and ahead you.
  •   Oil temp.
  •   Water temp.
  •   Actual position.

Live for Speed Version

  •   RPM.
  •   Speed.
  •   Times:
  •       Best lap.
  •       Best sector.
  •       Current Lap.
  •       Relative time with the car behind and ahead you.
  •   Brake % (it’s not possible to re acquire the oil temp)
  •   Throttle % (it’s not possible to re acquire the water temp)
  •   Actual position.

Below is a video of the iRacing version in action, MightyGate is already working on a new version for all three sims that will allow sim racers to design their custom dash designs.

Is a shame that you only support iphone 4, could you make some patch for iphone 3g please?

    • Info MightyGate

      Hi Tiago,
iHUD for rFactor, iHUD for LFS and iHUD for iRacing works in any iOS devices!! iPhone 3G too, of course. The only requisite is iOS 4.3 or more.

        3G doesnt’t go to 4.3. You need a 3GS for that.

Same kind of thing, and even better, are available for a long time on windows mobile and for free, but hey of course nothing’s free in Apple’s kingdom …

    • Vette Man

Are you talking about iDash?  Is that available for the iPad 2 or iPhone?

  • Vette Man

I bought it on the iPad 2 apps store.  It’s working, but I can’t find any way to change from Celcius to Fahrenheit.  The yellow dash is Fahrenheit, but I can’t figure out how to change them.  Also, on the Skip Barber the fuel is in the red with 3.1 gallons.  It doesn’t seem to pick up the car you are driving, so full isn’t full.

The blog on the website is in Spanish, so that’s not helping me too much.  Maybe I’m doing something wrong.  Looks great though!  🙂
