A new gameplay video of Gran Turismo 6 has surfaced, showing off replay footage of the BWM Z4 GT3 race car.

A new gameplay video of Gran Turismo 6 has surfaced, showing off replay footage of the BWM Z4 GT3 race car.

As it is clearly audible from the video, the current GT6 demo still uses the same sounds as Gran Turismo 5, lacking the V8 rumble of the original car. As revealed in an interview with Kazunori Yamauchi a few weeks ago, PD is looking to do major improvements to the sounds, a feature that might not make it into GT6 though.

Gran Turismo 6 will come to the Playstation 3. featuring 1200 cars, 150 of which will be new to Gran Turismo.

As announced by Kazunori Yamauchi, the distinction between standard & premium models will remain, the cars ported over from Gran Turismo 4 will be slightly touched up to fit the new title better.

GT6 will also come with 33 tracks, with seven locations being all-new including Silverstone, the home of Nissan’s GT Academy competition.

A playable demo of GT6 will be released next week, kicking off the next GT Academy competition.

Don’t exaggerate. It’s nothing like a vacuum cleaner.

More like a hair dryer 🙂

In which part of Japan does a V8 sound like that?

    • F1Racer

The part where you are stood about 2 miles away from the track with sound-cancelling headphones on.

In which part of Japan does a V8 sound like that?

  • Jim. C

    The sound really is appalling.

    • Nicolas Grignon

      shameful… I would say.

  • Raphael Oliveira

Dear God the first person hands animations are HORRIBLE! Sincerely, the more videos I watch more I’m sure this is the same game than GT5…jeez…and how about these sounds, imagine a real BMW driving a competition like 24h VLN, after the race the pilot will go to the hospital with a strong headache…hahahahaha

  • Mike Cantwell

My God the sound is CRAP. The hands look wrong…….is this going to be more of the same…..

  • John Krisfalusci

    Is this GT5.5? =(

    • Nicolas Grignon

yup… always was especially when you remove the “hype” factor.

Nostalgic sounds. Brings back memories of the time I played Micro Machines on the Genisis.

I can’t understand how Polyphony manages to not get annoyed by their own engine sounds over the years. As much as they try to push the racing and the sim aspect in a console game, the more I wonder if japanese people hear things different than the rest of the world. That BMW sound is not only bad, it is a threat to race enthusiasts.

Ever been in Tokyo? Japanese ppl do have a very very different kind of taste….

      • Markus Ott

I know. But I do not only mean a different taste. I wonder if they seriously capture sound differently (ofc they don’t) because this Z4 sound is inexcusable. How can they not bleed out of their ears at Polyphony. After so many years we must suspect those sounds are intentional.

        Dear Japan… WHY?!

    • Hugo Stiglitz

      I wonder that myself.

They have plans to improve the sound but they’re so friggin picky about things that I don’t know if it will even make it into the game. The demo does not have final engine sounds, but who knows how much better the final sounds will be.

Most people excused some of these issues with GT5, but now there is no excuse. Now it’s clear that PD just doesn’t care. They’ve always been like that, whatever they think is a higher priority is what will end up in the game. They hardly care at all what customers want. They’ll give the customer what they can do easily, but they have never went out of their way to make sure they include everything the customers have requested. And I don’t mean literally everything, but there are issues that always are brought up by customers, one being sound, and PD is taking their time figuring out how to do it right.

The sad part is it really wouldn’t even take much to improve the sounds.

They make great games, in my opinion much better than anything Turn 10 has done, but they also do a lot of things poorly. I don’t expect perfection, but when there are certain things done so half assed like the sounds in GT5, it’s hard not to get frustrated. ANd the truth is, I don’t even care that much about the sounds, but it’s still annoying that they do so many things better than their competitors but then do some things terribly. It’s inconsistent.

Painfull sounds, good physics btw …
