Get Your RACE Pro Questions Answered

Simbin’s RACE Pro for Xbox 360 is due to be released in mid-February and until it comes out, quite a few questions on their first Console racing simulation are still unanswered. VirtualR readers now have the exclusive chance to get their questions answered by Official Xbox Magazine’s Mike Channell.

Mike has written a RACE Pro preview for the magazine and is now looking to write another article and wonders what serious sim racers want to know about the upcomming title. So if you have any questions on the sim, make sure to leave your top three questions by using the comment feature as Mike will try answering them in the magazine’s next RACE Pro article.

  • DChaps

    1) What does Race Pro bring to the table for PC sim racers who already have purchased and raced all the Simbin products (GTR series, GT Legends, Race series, etc.)?

    2) Is it recommended to have a wheel to best experience Race Pro, and if so which one?

    3) What types of online race results/stat tracking will be available for Xbox Live online play?

  • navalhawkeye

    1. What do you mean? I don’t think there is anything included in Race Pro that’s not in the RACE games.

    2. I don’t like the wheel for the 360, it’s terrible IMO.

  • stabiz

    1. Lizard graphics engine

    2. I suspect its toned down to be accessible for pad-users, but wheels are always best

The questions are for *Mike, to answer in his article*, not for you guys to answer here in the comments section. Putting your own answers here in the same numbered format as the answers will prove to be nothing more than annoying for Mike, who will, as a result, have to sit there and cherry pick questions in the midst of a bunch of answers being slammed in here by you guys. *Do not use a numbered format unless you’re asking a question.*

  • xilix

Same numbered format as the *questions*… typo

  • zudthespud

    1) Are cars planned for the DLC aswell as tracks? If so what cars?

    2) Is there an in detail replay mode similar to GRID?

    3) Is there a True skill ranking system or a points based ranking system like Forza Motorsport or GRID?

  • RKipker

    1) How will the offline / career feature work? (I can not play online :sad2:

    2) Will the game allow for all assist to be turned off?

    3) How is the AI and can different AI levels be applied?

    Thanks for answering these questions.

  • Raikku

    1) Why you did this for Xbox 360, when there haven’t been proper wheels available for it? PS3 already had a support for quality wheels, like G25.(XO’s own wheel is shite)

    2) In cockpit-view and with pad, have you managed to get ingame steering wheel move smoothly, not with jerky movements?
    (Like in TDU etc)

    3) Do we get Nords for this, and do we get soon those few tracks form this to PC-side?

  • HoW Monty

    1) Wheels aren’t everything. I and many other racers use gamepads and have a perfectly enjoyable experience. Put up or shut up.

  • Raikku

Yes they are. That’s why i bought Grid/Dirt and MC:LA for PS3, not for XO. And i really think that PS3 has more potential as an racing sim(ish)-console.

  • HoW Monty

Point being? Get this: there are other games than just sims. Shocking, I know. the Xbox 360 is far better for those. Get a grip.

  • zudthespud

Considering that the porsche 911 wheel is coming out for the 360 soon then there is no need to rant about it.

Also, consoles will never have a decent race sim. PC racers will always be better. Console games are designed for a mass audience, so if you make a game too realistic all the short attention spanned console whores won’t buy it.

  • ForzaBarca88

    1) Is the AI in Race Pro actually worth racing against? And by that I mean compared to the higher standards of GP4 or VGP3.

    2) If there is some sort of port of nordschleife to Race Pro, will it have proper shadows? I’m assuming yes but this is an important immersion factor imo.

    3) Are Simbin looking to form any sort of partnership or affiliation with a hardware manufacturer as far as peripherals are concerned? I mean the way Logitech worked with Polyphony for GT5.

  • hogig

I bought the Fanatec Porsche 911 Wheel and clubsport pedals for xb360 to play RACE PRO (shipping at end of Feb). Is there specific support for this wheel? I wouldn’t want to run it like the MS wheel.

Graphically you have outdone GTR Evo, please ensure that the feel/control/realism is the same. Then you got a loyal customer for lifetime.
