Forza Motorsport 6: Apex – Behind The Scenes Trailer

Turn 10 Studios have released a new preview video of their upcoming Forza Motorsport 6: Apex title.

Turn 10 Studios have released a new preview video of their upcoming Forza Motorsport 6: Apex title.

The trailer takes us for a peek behind the scenes of the first-ever Windows-based Forza title that is due to be released late this spring.

Being released as a free to play title in the Windows Store this spring, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex will give PC players a taste of the Forza Motorsport world with a limited selection of content, including 63 cars, coming with working damage and cockpits.

On the positive side, the game will also include 6 tracks with 20 different layouts, including rain and night racing functionality. The cars can be used in a limited-version of Forza Motorsport’s career mode, including a 12-event “Showcase Tour.

Also included in the PC version will be Forza Motorsport’s Autovista showroom mode, also included will be the title’s popular photo mode. In terms of technical details, the video trailer below confirms a DirectX12 graphics engine running at up to 4k resolution.

There’s also some bad news in store though as Forza 6 Apex won’t include any multiplayer functionality apart from leaderboard rankings and, a huge blow for PC sim racers, no steering wheel support whatsoever.

was there any hints of release date ?

edit: and by that I mean more then Spring 2016

    • Slim_Boy_Fat

I haven’t heard any more about a release date but I did notice quite a few tweets from various MS sources yesterday so seems they are ramping up promotion of it. So hopefully we’ll get to hear soon and it won’t be long after that.

They definitely know how to market themselves…that was an impressive short video….when / if they get good wheel support for the PC, I will buy it

    • Slim_Boy_Fat

      It’s free 😉

      • ImageArtSigns .

oh, ok, thanks for the info…then I will get it when it has wheel support eventually. 🙂

  • fritzisbro

if you read the the above … at the bottom it say’s there will be no steering wheel support what so ever.

well that sounds to me that there is wheel support in the future so it seems there is no wheel support on release.

It’s still a free title. Turn10 are considering it a glorified tech demo, to showcase what FM6 could have been capable of if it was on pc and what people can expect from FM7 if they go cross plattform. Any missing feature, while regrettable, will either come later as patch or be kept for FM7.

      • Leper Messiah

your point? I was replying to ftrracing who states “there is wheel support”. It would have been good to compare Apex to the existing games to assess where T10 stand in, will have to wait till wheel support arrives. Should be interesting, although not sure if T10 games still have the loose rear bias that Forza 3 and 4 have.

All future Forza titles will be both on PC and Xbox, Dan said on the video.

Would be great to be able to make other racing titles or mods with this engine. As it’s a full DX12 engine it comes with some great new possibilities.

      • pez2k

Forza games are extremely moddable, the only reason there aren’t any for FM5 or 6 yet is the XB1’s security. We’ll see what happens with Apex, but MS’ official stance on mods for their PC games is that there’s a maybe a slight chance of allowing the use of mods on future UWA games, but only those mods specifically approved by MS because unapproved mods will ‘capture all of your passwords out of Chrome’ and other such scaremongering.

Basically, MS won’t allow modding, but the UWA platform itself is the only obstacle I suspect.

I’ve got the same orange Indy McLaren die cast as seen at 1:08 and it’s awesome 😛

This game would be a blast on any LAN party but without the MP…soooo bad!

  • delpinsky

Free tech-demo with DX12 graphics, decent gameplay, although only with joypad for now. Turn10 can surely attract a lot of people with this arcade/sim-cade. If they can add wheels supports for the end of the year, with MP mode they could find a lot of potential buyers in the PC world. I’m interested to try it and see what it’s going to offer. If competition stimulates improvements, it’s good to see another competitor jumping in.

someone dead at VR? two great releases yesterday and no news

    • gimmelbop

They are usually a bit late and sometimes even misses major news

      • MC

It’s like picking up a newspaper and reading yesterday’s news, or in vR’s case the day before that =)

  • Guimengo

Can a dedicated soul port Sebring and Rio de Janeiro to things we play?

    • Patrik Marek

if there will be Mods on it ( which sounded like there might) it could be interesting modding platform for sure

      • Guimengo

I meant the other way around :p. I am not touching Windows 10 but would love an accurate Sebring outside of iR. And Rio… well, it would be nice to enjoy the view, parked up the mountain, without the risk of being robbed :p.

      • Patrik Marek

well, I guess you know what I would say to that 😉
