Forza Motorsport 3 – Le Mans Videos

Turn 10 unveiled the Circuit de la Sarthe in their upcoming Forza Motorsport Xbox 360 title on Friday, releasing a big bunch of preview shots.

Now, first moving footage of Le Mans in Forza 3 has surfaced, showing the track in action in the Peugeot Sport hospitality. The first video shows Peugeot driver Stephane Sarrazin driving on the 13,6 kilometer track, the second video shows a race against the Audi R10 from cockpit view. That video pretty much confirms the rather disappointing car limit though as only eight cars are racing each other.

Forza Motorsport 3 will include the legendary Le Mans circuit as well as a big bunch of Le Mans prototypes to race on it, the third installment of the Forza series will be released in October.

    Oh my god 🙄

Sounds like hi-revs petrol engine. Brakes like spaceship. For god sake… how can somebody say that this is simulator…

IMHO. Graphics are very nice and the track layout isn’t bad !

Great looking track, but only 8 cars at Le Mans is big nonsense. :weird:

    Very disapointing indeed.

Btw, there are still Gran Turismo all over the circuit today. I’m curious if the Forza version will have those signs :sd:

lol @ 2 lap Le Mans race with 7 opponents 😆

  • Raikku

And that wasn’t cockpit view… that was bumber view, which is crap.

Yeah that brakes thing is really noticeable in the second video. After a long straight, that car came almost immediately to a complete stop. It actually slowed down so quickly that it even surprised the driver, who had to accelerate to reach the turn!

I assume driving aids are on but I couldn’t make a stop that fast in Forza 1 or Forza 2 even with EVERY single aid on. BTW keep up the complaining about the lack of opponents everyone. The constant complaining was the only thing that got Turn10 to put in driver cockpits. Hopefully it’ll work again.

It looks like the car turns in much more violently than Sarrazin expects too.

The 908 in the Sarrazin video sounds 100% authentic, it’s the area I was most interested in as good graphics are a given.

As for braking, these cars do break like spaceships, regardless of that all driving aids were being used and the guys at SRT have already reported how amazed they were after trying Forza 3 at E3, comparing it directly with the best the PC has to offer.

The main problem I see with that is that there’s absolutely no bumps or holes in the track. That was a problem in Forza 2 too, and it’s a problem with most racing games (and sims) out there. Just makes the driving feel a little less exciting than it should.

How do they run 3 monitors on an Xbox360?

I don’t exactly know how to, but I do know you need 3 Xboxs. Well, thats what the guys at SRT said in their E3 special. 😉

Makes me wish I had two more Xboxes, so I could run it on 3 screens like that.

Check out the other Forza 3 videos… amazing!

    DAMN DAMN DAMN.

I was in that Peugeot Sport hospitality just 70 hours or somewhat ago, I COULD HAVE HAD A GO AT IT! And all I did was look at the screens and think; ‘hmm, never seen that HUD before, looks a bit like Forza 2… ooh nevermind’ AND THEN I WALKED AWAY!!! **cries**

I’m sorry I let you down, I should have been posting my preview to you guys right now. Sorry!

Looks good, given that a simulation of the Le Mans 24hr is probably the most challenging simulation to put together (50 plus cars with lots of variety, day/night progression, damage/failures/pitting and AI that takes into account the different car classes, etc.).
