F1 2011 – Three New Videos

Alan Boiston of VVV Automotive has released three interesting new videos of Codemasters’ upcoming F1 2011 title, showing off some footage captured at the Gamescom expo in Cologne.

The videos show off some rather messy racing action at Monza and the Nürburgring. Furthermore, the third video shows of the brand-new Indian Grand Prix venue. Just like with the South Korean Grand Prix in F1 2010, buyers of the new title actually get to race at the new track before the drivers do in real life.

F1 2011 will be released for the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on September 23, right in time for the final races of the real life 2011 Formula One World Championship season. The new title will come with improved graphics & handling, new features such as multiplayer splitscreen, a working safety car as well as a much more extensive career mode.

    Its pretty, yeah… but it looks like arcade physics. *Sigh* we’re never going to get a good mix of both in a racing game. Iracing=great physics, but still lacking graphics-wise… Rf2=similar story…. Shift= pretty, but physics still way off. Of course I never bought F1 2010… so please correct me if I’m wrong. Does it seem as if its always a trade-off? I won’t even get started on sounds… I don’t know of a game yet that has made a major improvement in sound simulation in the past 5 years. They’re still all based on loops and can’t accurately simulate environmental effects. 🙁

    @Alan:
    You’ve really grown on me.  Good reviews and clips, keep it up man.
    @George:
    F1 10 was pretty sick actually.  Def left some room for improvement but I’m an old school RF and GTR player and honestly f1 10 was quite nice.  This specific developer group are actual fans it seems and I think they did a good job.  Take off all the aids on F1-10 and it’s quite a challenge.  I’m looking forward to 11 and am actually happy that people are still creating genre specific sims.  GT & Forza are jack of all trades master of none.  F1 and GTR focused on 1 thing and just do it really well I think.  There’s always gonna be something to want but as long as they keep releasing the genre moves forward.  Look at this one and the things they’re addressing are the issues brought up by users early on so that in itself is a step forward.

    Looks as crap as last years if your asking me! Haven’t seen any oversteer in any of these videos and the gravel traps seem to have zero effect. Surprising when you consider how good the codemasters graphic engine is.

    really people why are you all so negative :O
    they will never make a f1 game that will look or fell like Iracing and those kind`s of sim`s
    and they can`t make everything perfect.

    and the best F1 experince is 2011 no doubt.
