F1 2010 – Lots of HD Screengrabs

Three days ago, Codemasters released the second of their developer diary videos, showing off some new in-game footage of their Formula One 2010 title.

Those of you who haven’t been able to catch all the details in the fast-paced, low resolution video trailer can now check them out in 27 HD screengrabs below. The shots show of some very impressive details such as very detailed trackside objects and some very sharp looking textures.

Following their maiden Formula One title that was released only for the Playstation Portable and the Nintendo Wii, Codemasters will be bringing the 2010 Formula One season to the PC, the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. F1 2010 has been confirmed to be released in September 2010.

Nice details, but can we please get past the ‘everything must be brown’ phase?

  • free2game365

Man they’re really pimping out next-gen brown.

  • AeroMechanical

It really is very, very brown. That can’t just be a stylistic choice.

    lolwut? 🙄

mmm… and the white stripes in Ferrari Car? I think it is a licensed game, all the sponsor should be present, right? 😐

    Errr….

If I’m totally honest I think it looks pretty average.

And the “Codemasters Dev’s pooped all over the screen” look kind of sucks too.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Unless of course the cover says:

“Most amazing book ever! 2,000 chapters! Completely hooking storyline!”

And the book itself is clearly only 2 pages long.

    That sums up Codemasters.

They measure their 4 inches of shame with a metre long stick.

Afaik there are allready mods dealing with the brown color in Dirt2.
So i´m positive people will be able to tweak that once the game is out.

Was the same in GP4 and F1C so they won’t appear.

  • BenUK

    Why is it so brown?

Is pointed to tobacco sponsoring from Philip Morris, so that’s why it isn’t in the game.

on topic: Still think the T-cam looks weird, you see way too much of the helmet. :weird:

Nope: even in the past officially licensed games a lot of sponsor were missing. As for the brown color, this message on the official forum may be interesting: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/f1-2010-game-1316/412460-colour-balance-photochromatic-aberrations-5.html#post6166774

I agree. That “nextgen” brown coloring makes me sick already. It’s almost in every game now.

The whole idea to put a kind of brown or whatever filter to make colors less oversaturated on customers monitors while monitor companies add a special “game mode” to make colors even more oversaturated looks very weird imho.

Why not just make natural, realistic colors and put a saturation slider in the options for those who don’t want to bother with calibrating their monitors.

codies haven’t got the hint yet we’d like to see screenies or videos of f1 2010 please…..enough of the 2009 cars & other content…..

  • aosudif1

Did you guys noticed that all the steering wheels have the same shape? I have some expectations on this game, but the physics I think, will let us down… let’s hope for the best anyway…

  • Jos

codies should make the game look less like Grid and more like Dirt2…

  • captain_underpants

I was thinking ‘what’s it look like on a bright sunny day?’, when I realised it was. Why mute the colours so badly?

You can generally turn off the more annoying graphical features like bloom and motion blur, but I’m not sure about the sepiacam. That post linked by Uff sounds promising, though. Make it optional, and I’ll have no complaints.

Otherwise, I reckon the game’s looking pretty awesome.
