Endurance Series – Helmet Paint Kit Released

Team Enduracers have released a helmet paint kit for their Endurance Series rFactor mod.

Team Enduracers have released a helmet paint kit for their Endurance Series rFactor mod.

The paint kit allows users to paint up their own helmets using a supplied template and a 3D scene for 3DS 2010 and the Brazil plugin. A basic max file for those without Brazi will be available later.

Painters who have painted helmets of real-life drivers and would like to see them included in future versions of the mod can send them here.

Aah Enduracers. I need to re-dress something with these guys.

I have, in the past, been quite critical of this mod for its rear end physics. The rest of the mod looked and sounded great. But for whatever reason I struggled with it and I made it known. The result of that meant I didn’t play the mod because it was frustrating when the rear was stepping out during turn-in.
However…. I decided to load up the mod a couple of days ago. Dunno why, maybe to see how long I would last with it.

Now, I don’t know what’s changed since the last time I played it, apart from a replacement wheel, but I picked out a GT1 Lambo and I was on it, setting a decent pace. A quick check of the driver assists and I saw that I had High TC on 🙁 This was left over from when I was testing something in rF1 the last time I used it.

So… took TC off (even though the real cars had it I believe) and made sure all the other assists except auto-clutch were off.
Went back out and beat my previous time. I had turned down the steering ratio in the setup so it wasn’t as twitchy and played with the diff, but that’s about it.
Then I grabbed the GT2 Porsche, the car that gave me so much grief before.
Again, no issues. I dunno what’s changed between then and now or why I found it so un-driveable before.
I have since been racing lots of historic cars on the Nordschliefe so maybe I’ve improved or changed my driving style now that I’m not so much on F1 mods.
Guess it will be a mystery. But either way, this mod really is damn good.

So I just wanna give a big thumbs up to the Enduracers guys and I take back every negative thing I said about the mod.

I look forward to future versions of this great mod.

You probably learned to rev match much better with the historical cars.
Many people where blocking their rear tires because of excessive downshifting. Although i admit the first version was very twitcy.
The last version felt really solid.

Yeah maybe that has something to do with it. Although I seem to remember that once I`d done all my braking and turned in to the corner, the rear end would just say “nope, not me, I’m carrying on straight” 🙂

I’m just right now at Road America with the C6R and I’m 3.5s off the pace of the AI Corvette 🙂 I`ll make some of that up when I take some wing off.

Glad to see people recognizing this mod it’s good
I always thought that people complaining about this, were confused because downshift at braking. I think it has the most realistic GT car behaviour in RF1, because they did’t let the game manage physics with generic AIDS. They take control over all, as TC, or blip/lift. In GT class only the lambo has auto blip for example. Sounds are the best in a modern GT mod for me too.

Racing primarily F1 will ruin your experience in every other car but running lots of laps in say HistorX does the opposite. 🙂 If I had to guess you are simply not over driving into the turns as much does to your time in historic cars. This is especially critical in the 997. Porsches are better diven slow in fast out. If you try to carry your breaking into the turn it tends to rotate on you. Especially if you don’t LFB.

I think this is pretty much how I would see it too. It has to be that.
I`ll just have to make sure that if I’m going to run F1’s that I do have a good share of racing historical tin-top cars too.

thanks Rob for the post 😉 we’ve updated the package with a “basic” .max
file, for the ones that don’t have Brazil plugin, in order to make
basic renders. Links can be found at the same place :

Ya I think they need to remake their banned Porsche mod into a Ruf mod and release it for all us good normal peasants who don’t care if it’s porsche

  • Dani .

This one, DRM, and HistoryX are my best 3 racing series mods.

    • http://virtualr.net/ F1Racer

      I`ll second that.

    • gt3rsr

If I had to choose one, it would be DRM.

Great stuff! If you have a program that can open these things.
I have already learned another way to do it and that seems to work.
