  • Pashalis Gergis

Awesome news! Can’t wait. By the way has anybody heard anything about their weather system? Just asking cause I never really heard a rumour or a hint about it.

    • Wally Masterson

Marco M. doesn’t like rain, it’s been revealed.

      • Pashalis Gergis

What is that supposed to mean?

      • Wally Masterson

Marco Massaroto said somewhere that he doesn’t think rain in racing games is important. He’s in the “you try racing in rain once, then never again” camp. So based on that attitutude, I would say rain in AC is not a priority.

      • Pashalis Gergis

I have to agree with that. I did that so in rF. Weather system has to be really really cool to be considered as an option for serious racing.

  • AC multiplayer

Its ok releasing another couple of tracks/cars, but im worried about the polishment made in online mode (if there is any) and avaliable features to online leagues. Not a word about it….

  • Fokke Antonides

Good to see the modded Shelby to be officially added

  • Jovica Ilic

    6 Evora’s!!

  • Mark

Looks like a Gran Turismo content list. Where are the racing cars?

    • Quffy

Yea.. this is not a game with only racing car versions, that’s for games like race07, gtr-e, gtr2, raceroom, iracing… In Assetto there is great content of both worlds.

    • Leeman

I agree 100%. Need more real race cars. Seriously, isn’t one Abarth one too many? The karts in GSCE are faster and more fun to drive.

      • Quffy

In a race series basically all cars, for example the karts like you refer, are the same thing… Kunos could easily do a bttc, do a wttc etc.. in the end it would be less work for them. But instead they are giving enough and plenty of content from racing and road cars.

There’s plenty of material to race a gt2 and gt3 league, or even mix some classes. Are you telling me you don’t enjoy all these cars Kunos model and apply individual physics and characteristics, like their real life car model.

      • Leeman

“Are you telling me you don’t enjoy all these cars Kunos model and apply individual physics and characteristics, like their real life car model.”

Umm, yes, I’m afraid that’s exactly what I’m telling you. I’m not interested in driving a street car around a race track. I want to drive a RACE car around a race track. This is a cargo van and a Humvee away from being FM5 for the PC.

I spend 70% of my time in AC with the GT3 cars and the rest with the open-wheelers. I have zero interest in driving an Abarth at 80mph around Silverstone.

      • Quffy

What race cars or which race car series they should add?

      • Leeman

Well, they added the Merc SLS AMG GT3 which I’m thrilled about. But, since I’m a big fan of the GT3 series I’m disappointed there aren’t more GT3 cars (an Aston Martin and an Audi R8 would be nice additions). I would love to see a full series of GT3 cars. Perhaps as DLC down the road or mods.

      • Michael Hornbuckle

I can’t believe that Kunos would actually include content in a game that people other than yourself might like. What the hell are they thinking?

      • Leeman

Exactly. They have a hell of a nerve. I’m glad you can see my side of it.

      • Michael Hornbuckle

I could have gotten an ‘A’ license in iracing by never competing in a single race if I had so desired; not sure what that has to do with anything.

I’m glad that you are so concerned with the health of your avatar that you only want him racing in cars with a roll cage and racing seat to protect him, but I like driving cars that I can (and have, in some cases) drive in the real world to actually see if the in game physics matches up with how the real thing drives; something that just isn’t possible to do with full on race cars. Having pretty much every turn on the track actually needing input from me other than keeping the throttle wide open and turning the wheel a quarter turn is a bonus.

      • Leeman

I never said there shouldn’t be street cars in the sim. I simply said I’d like to see more race cars and I’m only interested in racing, not driving.

I’m never going to drive a Ferrari or any other car on this list in real life (and neither will 90% of the people buying this sim) so I’ll have nothing to compare the physics to.

    • David Wright

Its far too short to look like a Gran Turismo content list, and there are several racing cars on the list.

    • traind

As David mentions… there are quite a few on the list. A number of great GT options are included and the open wheel selection is excellent. Three terrific (and very different to each other) historic F1 cars and a few modern open wheelers too (both fast and slow). P1 prototypes are coming after launch in the form of the new Toyota and probably the Audi as well.

All of this doesn’t include modders work… which is extensive and includes a number of other race cars

  • Slaven Ćorluka

lotus of AC is like GTR of GT series. 😀

  • Sim Antics

Looks wonderful! I am excited by this it is a more impressive list that I expected and this title has enough content and features to be considered as a RGOY award candidate. Good for you Kunos.

  • Lars

    Zandvoort! 🙂

  • Sylvain Villet

where does that list come from ?

    • Quffy

That’s not the final list, the rest of the list will be announced later on.

    • Ole Marius Myrvold

This list is from RaceDepartment, and the list was from the Media-Kit we got at the AC Press Event at Vallelunga – In other words, everything is given by Kunos to us 😉

  • Thord Jonsson

i miss alot of tracks for online league racing, only three cars for a GT3 league….. time to be negative …. but this feels like a polished console game… another simcader …. so are my fears for the Project cars also, but there its still hope.

    • Quffy

what’s a simcader and what’s a racing simulation to you?

      • Thord Jonsson

in my opinion, the only real simracer game nowadays are rFactor 2 and the poorly outdated GTR2, those are game that still can call themself Simulator.

      • vrasuk

you have absolutely no clue. i’d say you’re a “simcader”.

    • Deatroy

3 cars in each class (GT2, GT3, GT4). Is okay for league racing, or do you need 30 different GT3 to start a league ?
      I doubt it.

      • Thord Jonsson

i get three cars in GT3, but in the other classes GT2, and GT4 what cars are you reffering to.

      • Deatroy

        Lotus Evora GTC aka GT4
        Lotus 2-11 GT4
        Lotus Evora GT4

        BMW M3 GT2
        Ferrari GT2
        Glickenhaus GT2
        Glickenhaus GT2 2012 Hybrid

        enough for a league^^

    • Pascal

      This is nowhere near simcade.

    • traind

Simcade? Please, give us a break

    • Dinca Andrei

For the love of God…..Simcade?!?… you are confused

    • The Dark

you dont see many people being this wrong!

    • faybn

And still there are these people who just want to complain. I really don’t get it.

  • Leeman

I think they need a few more Lotuses. I must confess I’m pretty disappointed with the track list. Looks like we’ll be heavily dependent on the modding community for that. We already have a ’66 Monza, do we really need a ’62 version too? How many cars from that era are available? I’d have preferred a few more mainstream/modern circuits. But, it’s great that we’ll be getting Spa.

And I am very excited about the Merc AMG SLS GT3. Love that car.

    • koen

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that ’62 version is the one that includes oval section. It’s already modelled and textured, the only missing thing is a tricky mechanic that allows crossing finish line twice per lap (that’s how this layout goes).

      • Евгений Дружинин

Well, wiki says that last race with oval section was done in 1961…

    • Richard Pittam

I’m with you Leeman on the track list. It doesn’t excite me, but the car list sure does. Hottest DLC of the year for me, Cor blimey!

    • 2tyred

I’m not really sure why they list the oval version as 1962 rather than just an alternate for 1966.

When was the last year that the sports cars used the oval without the chicanes? I just checked and they appear to use them in 1966 so it could be to do with that.

I would reason they probably didn’t choose 1961 is that they would have to re-do parts of the surroundings that were changed due to Von-Trip’s accident.

For example, that was when they added the sand trap at parabolica (removing the grass banking) and cut down the trees on the straight, added more armco, better fences etc etc. At least, looking at videos from different years, it seems like it!

On a side note, RF2’s Monza 1966 seems rather more accurate in terms of atmosphere and surrounding detail. The AC thing seems to have quite a few things in the wrong place and just feels more “copy paste” with regards to detail.
There should be a break in the trees at Vialone where you can see all the way down to “daylight” through down the drag strip but in assetto corsa there is a big tree blocking the view.
Also the Fina Oil Can on the front straight is meant to be before the oval even starts but is miles further back.

Hopefully they will update it though 🙂

  • Deatroy

    Much free content after V1.0.
Excited for the Sauber C9 and F1 GTR :O

  • stenyak

No link to the official AC 1.0 announcement page, seriously? Come on VirtualR, why do you never post your sources, not even the simple “via” link that most other decent news sources include?

  • imme

Is the charger SRT/8 better than the Shelby GT500 (2005 version)my dumbass friend says charger is better

  • Keijo

Audi S1 Quattro – nuff said.

  • Glenn Briden

Nice variety of cars and tracks the base game will give users a nice place to develop driving skills the patch and DLC content will help build a good driving platform.
The biggest feature of this game is how well it accepts modder content if you are patient they will add pretty much every car or track you could want they are building in there own future Very well done.

  • pSynrg

Unfortunately it looks like AC is heading down the rFactor/netKar/GSC route rather than the iRacing route, despite its far superior physics/ffb.

We need strong centrally managed organisation! Otherwise it will all end up as one big fat mess. Like rFactor/netKar/GSC etc.

    • The Dark

      • Guest0000000011100010101010000

I think he means it will end up as a game that has cars and stuff in that you don’t have to pay $15 for each of. I think.

      • The Dark

        i see 😉

      • GamerMuscle

With games like NKP,GTRE,GSC,RFactor and RF2 it can be a nightmare to connect to online events or just race with people because content is all over the place.

One of the things i racing does really well is that so long as you are happy with the prices and so long as you pick a car and track that’s being raced, for the most part it will “just work”

Obviously you have services like Race2Play and private leagues but I think many people are simply unaware of them.

Some of the best times I had with RF1 for example were on the Rfactor central servers and that kind of became a default place for many to go to race RF1 online.

I think there is a lot to be said for some sort of structured system or endorsed external system from the developer that less experienced users will see and find easy to jump into.

      • Ghoults

Content (mods) being out of sync is a problem that is possible to solve. So far nobody has bothered to try to solve it.

Personally for me one of the reasons I play ac and not iracing is the organization. I never grew to like the iracing system. Wait and wait for one single race, no admins, admin decisions made behind the closed doors. Iracing kinds of system would not really even work with mods. I hope ac never goes that direction.

    • Michael Henke

Hate to admit it, but you’ve got a point there

    • Patrik Marek

I wonder if there will be a way to “mod” a server that would be similar to iRacing, .. you will have to register for events, practice in mean time, and then go to track,

as per the content, something like steam workshop would be prefect, but I don’t think they would allow illegal stuff :-/

      • Michael Hornbuckle

If somebody wanted I’m sure they could rent a server farm and get a programmer to code a rating system and such..big question is how much would how many need to pay to make such an endeavor worthwhile?

  • Chris Wright

If you’re not excited by that little lot…

    • Jason Madigan

      I am excited Chris 😉

      • Chris Wright

        It’s an amazing announcement.

  • Jason Madigan

Damn this is going to be awesome … mostly lloking forward to Nords and Trento and 458GT2 and LaFerrari and SauberC9 and Spa and Quadrifoglio and Zandvoort and OMG *passes out*

  • Juha Mikkola

classic team lotus 72 was originally about to make it in the game, any news what happened to it?

  • Neil Brady

Ah we need the fmod sound to appear too, spoiled by raceroom.

  • fatalabarth

    Only this???
    I’m kidding…. 😀
And what about all these graphic updates?
O.M.G my r9 290 will look like my old Gtx 560 after the release of v1.0
    Next step 980 SLI :PP

    • Deatroy

      i prefer 390x or 980ti with moar POWER 😀

      • fatalabarth

Haha 980ti is gonna be a monster but 2×980 will produce more power…of course they will cost more than 980ti so the best imo is 970sli…they will both cost less than 980ti and maybe give the same fps…
I have a R9 290 and i would advice you to forget about 390x…Nvidia all the way!

      • Deatroy

I hope you have a Sapphire 290 or else its not that good, but not bad. Haha
Just undervolt the 290 a lot, its saving a lot of energy.
Forget little Maxwell, when you OC them they drink more than your 290^^
980ti seems to be a Monster, but latest news about 390x says that AMD put Stacked VRAM on it.
        So 390x will a huge Monster 😀
Will be interesting, i am open for NV or AMD 😉

      • fatalabarth

It was my fault…o bought the Gigabyte edition rev 1 …the worst of r9 290 series…
        I will wait until 980ti comes out…sell r9 290 to a pure guy and job done…no more losing sign,black screens,crashes etc etc…i missed my gtx560ti :/

  • Francesco Kasta

Has the price of the future DLC been announced yet?

    • Chris

Not that I am aware of but I would like to know so I could start preparing for that now as I will definitely be buying it.

  • Gui Cramer

I hope to have more top third party tracks fitting of big beasts by the time this DLC is out because it will be difficult to resist getting that C9 :'(

    • Clive Lomax

Why did I read that as big breasts? 😀

  • Patrik Marek

nice to see little things like collideable trackside objects,
looking fwd to spa and pitstops, but still quite lot to come I think

congratulations for the release candidate !!

  • Roy Rki

Awesome stuff, I thought I wouldn’t have anything to play until Pcars. Now all I need is a CSW v2. Cmon Fanatec!

  • damys

you forgot the Lotus 2 eleven road and race version…

  • Anthony Birch

so bottom line, whats it gonna cost for Assetto Corsa v1.0, i already have the early access release but would like to know what sort of money for the ridgy didge v1.0

    • Nic Van

Version 1 will be free for you. Buying AC after it’s release will be 30% more expensive.

      • Anthony Birch

Hmmm i can live with that, i would be prepared to pay whatever they ask but that certainly is great news, thanks.

  • Mike Cimuchowski

    Oculus Rift + Spa + Toyota TS040 (eventually) + GT2/3/E :)))

  • ftrracingtv

How come they don’t have Fiorano since they had it for Ferrari Virtual Academy

    • Griphy

Probably because only virtual Ferrari cars are allowed on the virtual circuit.

      • ftrracingtv

could make a ferrari challenge on AC Where its an all ferrari race 😉 😉

  • Andy Thompson

I want to hear these new sounds 🙂

  • Mike O’Boyle

This makes its 0.22 status seem like a bit of a charade.

    • Wally Masterson

      Why’s that? It’s just a version number.

  • Marc Collins

    Very impressive base content.

  • PetrolheadDen

I am starting to take an interest.

  • Chris

They said 1.0 would contain their new graphics and sound engine in an interview, so have they confirmed that the next release will have Fmod in it? Or is it being added later?

    • Roger Wallentin

It is confirmed for v1.0 (from Kunos Facebook page) inlcuding revamped sounds for ALL cars 😀

Cant wait to hear a sample and try it out soon!!

      • Chris

Thankyou I am SOOO looking forward to this now! 😀

  • ftrracingtv

    That’s a lot of Lotus Evora’s lol

  • Jorge Azcoitia

Very excited for the release, especially with the scanned Nurby for the DLC, but I’m missing a few confirmed cars, most noticeably the AE86. I hope this list is not final =)
