Assetto Corsa – Track Improvement Comparisons

Kunos Simulazioni has announced a major overhaul for Assetto Corsa’s tracks, bringing all of the title’s circuits to the latest tech spec.

Kunos Simulazioni has announced a major overhaul for Assetto Corsa’s tracks, bringing all of the title’s circuits to the latest tech spec.

Since releasing the initial version of Assetto Corsa with the first tracks, Kunos has made major advancements in their track-creation process as the studio is obtaining wider and more detailed laser-scan data, allowing for the inclusion of more trackside details and features such as 3D trees. To make sure all tracks are brought to the latest tech level, several of the title’s circuits are currently being upgraded with the new features.

Tracks that are planned to be upgraded with the upcoming free 1.5 version release include Vallelunga, Nurburgring GP, Mugello, Magione, Imola, Silverstone, Monza, Spa Francorchamps, as well as the Nordschleife.

Until then, you can check out the difference the new versions will make in several comparison shots below.

i hope they correct the karussell @ nordschleife its impossible to travel too much bump and low grip to race with gt3 cars.

    • Brownninja97 .

wait WHAT. no way, its fine. most people that ive seen complain about it say that they cant feel it enough. its infamous for a reason, it a turn made to slap you in the face if you mess up.

      • EZehn

Not to mention the fact that it’s laser scanned so correcting it would mean faking data.

      • Patrik Marek

so if the track is fine, it must be the car physics then ? 🙂

    • delpinsky

It’s funny.. you have a Laserscanned version of the circuit and people complain? Therefore I suggest you to take your car, go to Germany, buy a ticket and drive in the real track so you can check yourself if the Karussull is right…

Sure is a lot of Kunos spam on the circuit revisions. Reminds me of RaceRoom, advertisements everywhere. I get authentic advertisements, but the way RaceRoom and now AC are doing it leaves a funky feeling of breaking immersion.

    • e_r_n_i_e

Agree. All these self-ads feel kinda odd and immersion-breaking. If licensing is an issue here, i would rather have some fictional adbanners (like in PCARS) than Kunos/AC banners all over the place.

  • BarryDennen12

Having a bit of a brain fade here, but did they ever say if they were going to add the oval to Old Monza? Or have they done it already? I’ve not checked in ages haha

    • gianluca p

If I remember well they scanned also the old banking. But the game doesn’t have the combined version of the circuit.

      • BarryDennen12

dang, I hope they get around to it

  • gianluca p

Hey Kunos, don’t forget you have also a track called Trento Bondone in game.

  • Patrik Marek

    nice improvemnets! can’t wait

  • Philbert

But no screenshot of a corrected BMW font on Nuburgring GP? This should be simple for even a design student. I’m not interested in AC ad banners. The cars are great but they need some more focus on consistent trackside accuracy to go along with the laser scanning. Nordschleife looks good and then Nurb GP looks like another design team did it without the same attention to detail, which is jarring.

  • Sele

Call me crazy but the only improvement I see is that there are way more “Kunos” ads now. Oy yeah and some cranes.
