Another preview and it looks great of course. Kind of frustrating though, when you have several betas kicking around. The AC tech preview is getting old, good though it is.

Going off topic, but talking betas, I’d heartily recommend sceptics to invest in the Nascar The Game Inside Line beta that came out last week. Not the last word in simulation, yet, but the AI is insanely good following a patch earlier this week and it also impresses from graphics/physics standpoints.

And no I have no affiliation with Eutechnyx. They just deserve a recommendation or two in this community. Cue flamers.

      Why invite them ?

I’m gonna try out that Nascar game because I was pee’d when it was only coming out on consoles and apart from the VHR mod, I’ve not had fun with NASCAR since NR2003 which I still have installed.
Not everything needs to be a pure sim to be enjoyed so if this isn’t as difficult as trying to keep an rF2 Corvette on the road on a green track, I won’t lose any sleep.

They need no invitation it’s true.

Well I didn’t mean it that way.

        Whatever

How much can I expect to make from the investment?

The only issue with Nascar 2013 is that it only recognizes one controllers. It no longer crashes at startup merely by the presence of multiple controllers, they have patched that, but if you have separate pedals you are screwed. For now at least. They said they are working on it.

The AI is good, you say? Because that’s the biggest problem with most NASCAR/oval racing sims (good AI is hugely important in oval racing) and a lot of games in general. Got any good videos to show me? Because everything I could find was the typical start last/5 laps/easy mode junk…

Looks a bit artificial (of course it does, it’s a computer game :).

Getting a strong sense of deja vu with all these sims. Nonetheless, can’t wait!

I thought in the Ferrari previews, Silverstone looked better. Mind you, Silverstone isn’t exactly the most photogenic of tracks in the first place…

No more preview pictures appreciated…there hasnt been any valuable news in the last weeks. What about the promise to talk about the “when” soon…just bored by useless still lifes

I don’t think they want to give a date in-case they missed it , I get the impression AC will be one of those games that’s “done when its done” which is normally for the best when it comes to indi developers.

But I definitely think Ac marketing and public sentiment could have been improved if they did more professional style promotional releases. For example every 2 weeks have a release of some screen shots + a well produced video showing a feature of the game off. ( not recorded with an i phone lol ! )

I think the reason why they don’t is because they produce everything internally and putting out promotional content can be quite a time drain if you are already in crunch and don’t have spare staff to do it.

Having said that they seem to have gotten allot of hype with what they have done so far , though I think that’s mostly built from the reputation they have with NKP rather than the promotional efforts for AC.
