To honor Kimi Raikkonnen’s win today, we get to see new previews of the Lotus Evora GTE, Exige S 2012 and Elise SC

All cars shown are part of Assetto Corsa’s licensing deal with Lotus that Kunos announced back in June, including both road & racing machinery.

    That cockpit…. Oh my….

  • Digiprost

    Impressive quality

  • http://www.facebook.com/abioqaas Aslan Abioqa

I love the way the lighting looks in this game.

    • http://www.facebook.com/nicolas.grignon Nicolas Grignon

nice, but it look a bit like GT5 plastic “too perfect-like”… and the tires need a bit more contrast and darkness… Pcars do a better job with oclusion shaders… but AC is still a very pretty game!!! (rFactor2 should take some graphic class from Kunos…;-) )

      • Kendra Jacobs

        I agree.

Yes its beautiful, but in that too perfect computerized look, I agree. Still beautiful though, but the backrounds, the cars, the buildings, and pretty much the entire atmosphere needs to have a much less perfect and clean cut designed by a lazer look.

As much as I love to see new games progress and stuff coming along im actually bored whit the “eye candy” look now and that gives us nothing new about the game itself.

It doesnt impress me anymore actually and whit right 3d model, textures and time on track every expert can make this kinda screens in rf2 allready.

    • Anonymous

weird comparison… Weird comment for that matter.
It still puzzles me what people do on sites and forums if all they can say is how bored they are with it all. Appart from that… bring on the candy. This is awesome stuff. It keeps the hobby interesting.

      • David Wright

The rF2 comment rather gives things away. He’s in denial – I’ve never seen an rF2 shot that looks as good as these.

      • ales alless

Like i sayed, give a lotus model done in this quality into rf2 and you will come up whit some stuff if its done corectly.

      • Big Ron

rf2’slighting model isn’t advanced enough to show this quality. That just begins with the shaders.

      • ales alless

have you actually seen unedited rf2 screens done by community? How good the game actually does look? If you get a good 3d model of car/track and right textures you can be amased what you can get even whit the old dx9. But its pointless to compare those games for first assetto isnt out yet to make some simple comparess.

I just pointed out that it would be time to get more of the game news and not the content. I dont care about the content if the game is crap and no im not saying it is.

Sofar only few people were testing it and few videos were showed on youtube but thats all and still it was in alpha/beta stage, well i dont know.

I know Kunos is small team and everything takes time and so on, I understand everything but still give us something we can really say woow, this is something we really want and we havent seen this yet.

Look at those Zonda news, only thing missing there was we would get each poly update on the model and we have seen that car in tons of game now allready. Only diferente between all them is some details and polygone order but end of it its same damn car. Thats what im bored of from the lates months news about those games.

      • Anonymous

When you say ” but still give us something we can really say woow, this is something we really want and we haven’t seen this yet.” you sort of go against your own statement. no ?

      • Kendra Jacobs

if you went into RF2’s mod mode, and enabled or turned up lots of the graphics stuff that they currently have disabled or set on very low in the regular game, I think you would be nicely suprised of what the engine is actually technically capable of 🙂

      • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Kendra, do you have any idea about who BSRWix is ?
I believe he knows what he’s talking about…
I’d rather trust him, even if his words make me sad (as a big rF2 & WSGT fan) but they ring true, him being a member of one of the best mod teams IMHO…

      • Kendra Jacobs

AC looks much more advanced than RF2 for the most part. For sure.

Having said that, if you went into RF2’s mod mode, and enabled or turned up lots of the graphics stuff that they currently have disabled or set on very low in the regular game, I think you would be nicely suprised of what the engine is actually technically capable of 🙂

On top of this ISI stated the engine is capable of being upgraded to DX11.

I see what you mean, but I don’t agree. Put a high quality model in rF2 at the moment,( and we did… ) and you will see that it looks ok, but hardly any better than what we have seen in rF1. Certainly not Tas what I expect from a 2012 title. This I find is the main reason why the modding scene is at sleep at the moment. Not many out there dare to say it, but apart from a few, nobody seems to be jumping to put certain amount of man hours in rF2 at the moment.

Its sad for ISI, but if AC will deliver, it would mean the end for rF2 as we have known it.
You cannot deny that community interest in rF2 has been what we expected before the release of the alpha.

Many mod teams we speak to, seem to be waiting for AC , not because the arent rF fans, but because they want to move on. At this time, IMO the graphics engine will not be able to combat the sheer quality of the rivaling titles. I could get flamed for saying it, but after we all have seen a thousand posts and comments about the visuals not being important , i am sure most people realise that in reality its a different story. If it does not look as its supposed to many would not bother, regardless the quality of the physics or any other quality.

That said I really hope ISI gets the job done, and makes rF2 shine once more as its older brother did, but with competition an all fronts with the DX11 titles out there i know i will not be far from the truth.

      • ales alless

True but we still have to wait for AC sofar and ive noticed that some modders are “bored” of waiting for more infos or whatever about AC actually cause we got like no new about the game. And rf2 did improve itself lately, atleast ive noticed alot of gut stuff from all points.
AC is actually really unknown right now. We know that from what you sayed physics is good compromise from sim and fun which is for sure amasing. AI “should” work fine, its again uknown as sofar there were what 2 cars driving sofar agains each other? How will it run whit full grid of what ever series or mod will you implent? Well there is tons of stuff id really like to know but no, i get zonda or lotus cars progress or even better-a smart phone interface…i think that was it once, this is what just bothers me alot.

But you don’t know how will be the new shaders that they are developing..

I’m not saying that you are right or no.. but why do you make hasty conclusions?

I can say nothing on new shaders.. can be a miracle. Or not. .. but wait man. I don’t understand all these comparations with another INCOMPLETE title (rf2.. poor rf2 ahah)-

        MAH !

        Nik

      • hoodge1

What do you invision for iRacings future? Guess thats why they gave into this ridicullous touch screen gimmick. Guess a totally new engine will be in order. But again, will people drop the big dime necessary to run these next gen sims at the quality they are meant to run at? I’ve got 2 next gen rigs ready. Many dont or cant afford it. Having graphics at low settings will not convince the whole sim community to ditch rf2 or iRacing when they look amazing enough on a average machine.

      • Kendra Jacobs

DX11? PCars looks just as good (if not better in some ways) in DX9 mode. You should really do some research on the whole DX9 vs DX11 thing. Just to let you know almost everything that can be done in DX11 can be done in DX9. So visually DX11 is only a little better. Its the technical things in the backround for the techies that are much better in DX11, not what we as consumers visually see.

      • Anonymous

I certainly don’t want to sound arrogant, but all the years in the mod teams, and thousands of man hours of work, has been enough research for me. Its time to move on, and visuals are a very important part of it. ( I am a straight forward iRacing addict, so i love what DX9 can do, but modding wise Assetto seems 10 times more interesting than rF2, that my point. , however, remember it is Just my view on the matter I do respect the opinions of people who don’t see it that way.)

You had the chance to test game, good for you but still i want to learn more about the game itself, what will offer us. After all it is made for us isnt it?
You got like 10 news about lotus or any other game in assetto sofar. First announcment, thant first 3d model preview, than second 3d model preview whit wireframe, than again finished model and than you get all kinda diferent ingame shoots and thats all.
So is it here about the game itself or about cars? I dont understand it actually and thats why im bored. If i want to look at cars ill google for those pics. As i sayed i dont mind seeing them but come on. Give us one news about it like ingame screens and not like whole progress about a car.
This is not a mod or addon actually, we are talking about game news and this are actually not really news about a game.

I agree rF2 does seem kinda lackluster now. But really I can’t stand all the prerdictions on it when its looking a long way off. Personally iRacing at this point with its models isnt dx11 and im sure rf2 will be on par or better in the end. And we know how popular iR is.
Now that we have Pcars and AC, to look at the true next gen graphics, Im dam well excited about them. Remember tho, to have them run and look at their carporn best, your hardware better be up to date.
I still will take Physics first over graphics. If you mainly love online as well, Cars and AC will NOT support 30+ cars on track at the same time as iR or the rF series will. So you got to give and take.

      • Juhan Voolaid

In that rate AC will be ready in 2 yrs. So get ready for rF2 everybody 🙂

      • Kendra Jacobs

I understand what hes trying to say.

They should be showing videos of gameplay, even if its in development. Its a sim, not a screenshot game for graphics whores like the 14 year olds that play granturismo and forza.

Show us some damn videos, or how about sound clips showing off the sound engine? Why is everything just about still pictures???

If everything was about pics we would all be playing Granturismo.

    • Anonymous

If you followed VirtualR and Asseto Corsa, you would know for gameplay videos that shows a lot more than eye-candy look, and then you will realise that your comment is pointless.

    • hoodge1

can’t be bored when its not even available to the public. Know what sims will look like 10 yrs from now? Can’t even wonder. Tech always moves forward. Bizarre comment indeed.

The debate used to be rF versus iR now it’s all about rF vs AC which speaks a tone the great work Kunos is doing.
People are lapping 1.16.5 in Mosport in iRacing with the Cadillac in World Challenge this year the real Cadillac was running 1.21.xxx this goes to show how horrible iRacing physics has become (+ tire model).

  • Anonymous

    Looks Great!

  • GamerMuscle

Looks fantastic though to be a critic the car does look a tiny bit sterile.

Just needs to have some subtle nicks and scratches and dirt on things.

If a mod team makes a car for this and really puts that attention to visual detail in we will get some mind-blowing visuals things coming out of this game on-top of what already looks like a very solid engine.

What I Really liked about NKP and FVA is the engines look amazing but at the same time you get totally smooth playback and a high frame rate on even average hardware.

  • sostanza psicoattiva

Release date is still 2012 or not? Because we are in november and at this time they would have released at least the announced demo.
Kunos? Are you reading this? Please, give us at least a date for the demo or directly the demo. Thanks.
