Assetto Corsa – Friday Update Teasers

A new update for the Assetto Corsa Early Access Beta is coming up on Friday and as usual, Kunos is starting to tease with the new content additions.

A new update for the Assetto Corsa Early Access Beta is coming up on Friday and as usual, Kunos is starting to tease with the new content additions.

Based on recently-released previews, the new update seems to introduce the Nürburgring Grand Prix track, a prologue for the Nürburgring Nordschleife that will be released once the title has reached version 1.0.

Furthermore, the Lotus Type 125 is likely to be among the car additions. Lotus “customer F1 car” is the closest to a modern-day Formula One car that will (as of now) be available in Assetto Corsa.

Powered by a Cosworth V8 engine, the Exos Type 125 is Lotus’ take on a Formula One style customer car. Coming with Formula One style aerodynamics, the car is sold to wealthy clients for a million dollars a piece.

Thanks to the quick skinners, I’m sure we’ll have a “full F1 grid” in no time 🙂

  • Metal Machine

Im home alone friday, time for tune up the volume to max 😀 “evil” muahhah 😛

Wonderful!! Has anyone seen the new Lotus Superbike yet? Lotus has got it going on ATM. Any word on if their LMP2 car will make it in a Sim Race title?

    • Alejandro Gorgal

Yeah, that think is way too sexy.

    • Markus Ott

Omg, I hope that Martini livery is just a fake and they don’t team up with Lotus. Lotus gotta be the biggest bunch of swashbucklers in professional racing I currently know of.

      • Anonymous

Care to expand on that? (legitimately curious)

      • Markus Ott

They put their brand on everything and claim to develop their own car almost everywhere. F1, LMP2, Indycar and many other things, but at the end not even half of what they want to do happens and the other half is hopelesly underfinanced or gets canceled half way.

So do you think they might give me a job as a crash test dummy?

I think your reading into that too much the bike really has a modern Retro Look they also have a Lotus Racing theme as well.

The LMP2 car has nothing to do with Lotus Cars, it is build by Rebellion Racing, a racingteam from switzerland. They only have a license/sponsoring-deal with Lotus Cars, like the Formula One team.

Though I’m hoping they’ll get a license for a full blown F1 car, this is the confirmed car I’m most excited about. No modern sim has a good F1 car, in my opinion. netKar Pro had the excellent KS2 but that was a GP2 car. iRacing’s Williams, in my opinion, is all over the place. Project CARS’s Formula A is good, sometimes, but still very much WIP.

    Looking forward to this.

Not many sim races have ever had the chance to drive an F1 car but in terms of handling the GSC was pretty good

    • The Dark

I have driven some decent virtual F1 cars. CTDPs 2006 mod, MMGs 2007 mod and FSOne’s 2009 mod were all decent.
lately of course GSC2013 has excellent F1 cars.

looking forward now also for the AC Lotus and yes hopefully a full blown F1 car at some point.

      • Anonymous

Edited just for you, sir. GSC does have a great F1 car.

Though, if I’m honest, I don’t really consider GSC or even rFactor 2 to be modern given how outdated their graphics engines are. Personal opinion only.

      • The Dark

modern in terms of when it was released I suppose.

still hanging on for the Senna project too.

      • Anonymous

“Under the hood” rF2 is in some ways the most modern sim out there. Not only pretty graphics means a sim is “modern.

      • Anonymous

In some ways yes, in many ways no.

The graphics alone put it in a category where I don’t want to play it. Seeing modders embrace Assetto Corsa sealed it for me.

        Just my opinion, though.

I see what you mean. But since I’ve experienced realroad in rF2 I mis that in every other sim. It makes racing more dynamic. In AC when you got the car on its limits every lap is a bit of the same. While in rF2 every lap can be different and you must constantly adapt to the track and the tyres. That aspect is for me way more important then good graphics. As soon AC adds something to achieve this same dynamic it will be my nr1 sim.

rFactor2 F1 on a rubbered track (many ppl do not try this the right way) is pretty good.

    • Deatroy

S1 Version of Lotus is planned maybe, again sent from marco fb

  • Racing jason

great additions….both highly anticipated by me since V 0.1:)

  • Olivier Prenten

    Very good news!!! 😉

  • Shaddix

Better than that is Marco’s picture posted on facebook:

He said: “Unbelievable we are going all in the same direction… right Aristotelis and Luca”
    dat irony.

    Its a Multiplayer Info :p

    • Anonymous

Great Multiplayer, with someone driving the opposite direction, yaaay bring it.

    • Metal Machine

Translation: It is unbelievable, but we all go in same direction. For those who don’t wanna click button “more”.

  • Hack Mac

Nordschleife is set to be in a DLC in September. 1.0 will Lauch earlier.

    • Pure Citrus

Nords full is out till then, but maaaybe we can get the GP before then? Would sure be nice to have a new track, and finally one that I have some hours in prior to AC.

  • ftrracingtv

Is the lotus about as fast as a gp3 car or slower

    • Deatroy

He is faster than a 2011 f1 car. Slower then 2004 F1 cars with V10 monster engines 😀

  • Icarus Sim

The Nordschleife will be in the first DLC pack.

“We are developing a ‘Dream Pack DLC’ featuring not only the
Nordschleife, but 10 cars, chosen by you, the community, to be included
in the pack. So take your pick, Alfa Romeo? Nissan? McLaren and much

    • Hugo Stiglitz

Isn’t that DLC free for everyone who preorders/early access?

      • Pure Citrus

I’ve never been clear on this, and would love a solid answer

      • Michael Hornbuckle

The DLC pack that is now included in V1.0 includes Spa, the Mercedes SLS and SLS GT3…The Dream Pack DLC is anticipated in September and includes Laser scanned Nuremberg Nordschleife and 10 cars; although not officially announced, Marco has leaked several cars that will be in this pack such as the Nissan GTR and GTR GT3, RUF Yellowbird, and McLaren P1.

  • Pablo Coronel

    Its Nordschleife laser scanned right?

    • Metal Machine

      YP mate, it is.

    • Jukka Karppinen

It’s Nurburgring GP version, laser scanned of course. Nords will come later as others are already noted.

  • Slimjim

Here is the lap at the Top Gear track for the Lotus Type 125.
