    Mixed feelings about that…

    • Betta Lines

      About… the entire update?

    • kenpat .

      ??

    • Robert Henderson

5 weeks for a lacklustre update

      • Betta Lines

I’d call it one of the best updates yet. The SLS is magnificent, and the adjustments to FFB are very welcome.

      • Robert

sigh sorry but this is a lackluster update. Clearly milking it, I say thank God that we have modders making and ripping stuff because KUNOS would be out to sea by now. I dont think the lash back will be so rough as most people probably aren’t expecting much from then and probably more from modders like Sandrox to be honest.

      • F1Racer

What were you expecting ? Can you explain yourself a bit more or are you just given to throwaway comments ?

      • Robert

why? If the comment offended your personally, my apologies. I am not only here to write the good about Kunos, but the bad as well. Again my apologies.

      • F1Racer

I wasn’t offended at all. I just wondered if you would expand on that comment as to why you thought it was lacklustre. I wasn’t moderating 🙂

      • Gui

Kunos announced back in July that this update was going to be BIG. That could be the reason of a widespread disappointment.

      • F1Racer

Depends what their version of big was and what peoples expectations were.
Is there widespread disppointment ? How many people are we talking about here relative to the whole AC user base ?

      • Gui

Kunos is always at fault for disappointment after their hype. Remember Christmas of last year? :p

      • http://www.stenyak.com/ stenyak

Are you aware many took vacations? In summer it’s common to do that, at least here (in parts of Europe).

  • JorgeDeeeeeaz

The new car drives very well. Just had a couple of races on NGP Sprint, very cool indeed. Sound is nice too. Waiting for Spa…. 😀

    • Shaddix

Sound isnt nice, until new engine and fmod is running 😉
The SLS sound nearly the same like m3…

  • HammerX

Thanks for the update however I would really like to see and I’m sure I am not alone, the ability to assign keys to the H-pattern instead of axis.

  • Wilsch

How does the FFB feel compare the the latest GSC update? Im finding it hard to play anything else after how amazing GSC 1.21 feels.

    • Nypo

It feels better than before, a lot better, but it’s not GSC 😉

    • James Robertson

In my opinion GSC & pCARS are both a good bit ahead of AC in the FFB department at this point in time. Even after this update it still lacks the sense of road feeling and weight transfer that the other two have in abundance.

      • F1Racer

That’s interesting. What wheel do you have ? I’m guessing it’s not the same as mine 🙂

      • James Robertson

Its a Fanatec Clubsport Wheel with Formula rim.

      • F1Racer

Same make at least 🙂 Mine’s the GT3RSV2

  • damys

internal sound is ok but the external is very very bad 🙁 ..sounds too quiet , the real one sounds like a lion, i hope the sound update will improve this big issue

  • Brandon Miller

When is Python Chat coming out of beta? O_o

  • Deatroy

Kunos teased Spa, cause of 1000 likes challenge and “all” hope for Spa within the update.
No Spa included = update sucks – thats what i see often on the forum atm.

    • Adrian Herrera

I do not understand what you are trying to say.

      • Deatroy

Kunos started like challenge on fb.
New devs pics when they get 1000 likes.
As Spa got teased, many players thought it will be included.

    • Chris Wright

Ah, what would a thread on Virtual R be without some good old entitlement posts…

      • melanieuk1

I think he is just posting what others are saying on some forums, don’t think it was he who was saying such things 🙂

      • Deatroy

Read again, i said i see many of disappointed users as THEY thought SPA will be included.
I knew it wont be included since its for V1.0.

      • Chris Wright

Indeed. I have edited accordingly. Your post was a little ambiguous, however.

    • Andrea Candini

They already said that SPA will come with 1.0, so it’s normal that they didn’t release it. A picture doesn’t automatically means a release.

      • Deatroy

        i know…. read again…
I meant Kunos started on fb a like challenge.
1000 new likes = new dev pics.
Most Users thought wrong then for the update.

      • Andrea Candini

Sorry, I misread your post: I thought you were the one complaining, instead of reporting what other people do. My bad. 🙂

    • melanieuk1

I understand what you’re saying, I also understand this isnt a entitlement post, you should read other post like “Kunos broke my mods kunos sucks”
So I know where you’re coming from with your post. 🙂

      • Deatroy

        Ty atleast you understand it^^

  • The Dark

how long are we going to give it for the AC vs pCARS SLS video comparison to come out?
    i say within 24hrs

    • Roy Rki

And 1000 times chewed arguments of how AC is more of a sim, go yet another circle.

      • The Dark

they might have a point there if they are referring to immersion and feel but it down to personal tastes. problem is people want others to like their personal tastes too or be ridiculed.

    • melanieuk1

Good, I like a good comparison, I have ac, cant wait for pcars.
They both feature licensed content which we all want, none of this fictional make believe names, so it’s a win win for both developer.

  • Matthew Arnold

I’m really happy with what we got in this update 🙂

So many people are coming across as so entitled and ungrateful!

  • Chris Wright

Totally loving this update. Proves that it’s often better to refine the extant content than constantly focusing on new additions, even though we have a nice new Merc and a track variant here.

Much smoother on triple screen and the FFB gives the feeling of a title that’s now fast maturing.

    Fabulous Kunos, yet again. Thanks.

    • melanieuk1

well simbin flooded us with content back in the race07 days which wasn’t a problem, I don’t see the problem in Kunos doing so as well, good review on the new update, will try it later on.

      • Blatant Abuse

I hope they’ll flood us with content too. I won’t mind paying for it either with quality like this. But, I agree, they need to finish the sim first, which seems to be what they’re doing. Finished sim, then content flood.

  • DavidV8

What a great update! SLS is a great competitor to cars from http://www.sim-dream.com Now I can race a really impressive grid of supercars.

    • Pete Allior

Just bought the Mustang from them. Sounds could have been better, but the physics is impressive. How I havent seen this website before?!

      • Deatroy

        My condolences!

      • RKipker

Deatroy…. why you say that, do you have the Mustang?

      • RKipker

I should have waited for your reply…. hopefully they’ll update it.

      • Deatroy

the website is illegal and known for its conversions from forza, shift…
You pay for such stuff – my condolences again.

      • RKipker

well it will be my last then… though honestly I did not know…. and the car is not well done!

    • melanieuk1

Creating yet another new account just to plug your payware mods, and getting your mate below to verify your post, who also created an account to do so tsk tsk.

      • lullilulli

Do you think they have the license for every car they are selling? LOL

        Pretty ridiculous! 😀

http://www.sim-dream.com/?page_id=26 they use the AC F40 to promote their work LOL 😀

  • GamerMuscle
    • pastor_tedhaggard

crucial thing to notice in this video is the amount of power you need to sustain the drift, otherwise the rear grips up again and the car straightens out and you get a tankslapper.
this is exactly what Kunos have done so well at capturing – that transition between slide and grip, and the countless dynamic variations in between those 2 states – and how difficult it is to actually hold the car in a nice, sustained slide, and come out of it again neatly.

it blows my mind how people can say this game is easy. When pushing for laptime or trying to hold neat transition drifts, its the hardest thing out there.

      • Chris Wright

Finally, a post of yours with which I agree with every word 🙂 Excellent points.

      • melanieuk1

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sexiWYsj2y8
Milestone Studio has lost the license to produce the next wrc games, with drifting physics like this, Kunos should have had the wrc license, then maybe we’d get a proper rally sim.

      • Nicolas Grignon

at LAST!!!! Now if Codemasters gets it, we are all doomed! 😉

      • Jos

        that e30 really needs a sound mod…

  • Justin Cruze

FFB much improved with the effects turned off, also noticed I wasnt getting CPU utilisation warnings at nordschleife against the AI any more so I guess that’s down to the performance optimisations.

Didn’t exactly blow my mind but some good improvements with this update.

  • Michael Hornbuckle

FFB Improvements are nice enough that I finally turned off the added effects and started driving the way Stefano intended for everybody to. The changes somehow make the cars feel even more like you are connected to the road with four big sticky patches of rubber. When you get out of shape, locking down the brakes and turning into the spin actually slows the car down and scrubs off speed in a (usually) controllable manner. AI still needs work to be great IMO but they seem improved to me. Here is a 3 lap race on Nurburgring GP Sprint circuit.

    http://youtu.be/WD75Vl0lDRg

    • Chris Wright

I have found that it’s so much better too. Makes it much easier to understand and predict what the car’s doing.

    • Manuel Riger

      Hello,

On the start u where on 0 rpm and stall the engine normaly . Which shows me that the clutch/engine is still buggy incorect or however we call this not finish ? im have hopes about AC if they understand there problems like ffb and physics,ai etc. maybe this titel will be useable when it reack 1.0. But i was hoping for spa in this update to have a bigger reason to try AC again.

      • Michael Hornbuckle

If it isn’t usable for you now, it probably won’t ever be and you should find another title that does make you happy. The FFB and physics were already wonderful and the changes they made have took them to a whole new level.

        Here is an example:
Before the update if you got loose taking the high speed right hand ‘kink’ at Nurburgring GP you were probably going to spin several times through the grass; for all the things AC got right, one thing that seemed wrong was having brakes actually work with you in helping a bad situation get under control…here is what happened when that scenario unfolded earlier:
        http://youtu.be/aHijsV_ocEA

Kunos IMO already had the best feel of virtual rubber meeting the road and now they just need to implement flat spots and this will truly be Netkar Pro for Next Gen.

      • Manuel Riger

I was talking about the rpm and ur start…. This don t look like a good physic for me… Did u drive a real car ? if u use clutch u can start our car with low rpm with holding the clutch point. In real life u can start a ferrari 458 without gas only with clutch.
How do u want to know what AC will be in the future ? they allready changed the physics multiple times and other stuff. Rf 2 was after 1 year beta crap but after the 570 it makes huge steps forward. I know Kunos want a real simulator like rf2 and iracing and they are not happy with there physics and ffb atm like u never can be happy if u want to be the best.

      • Cock Pit

rf2 is overhyped sim beta crap…All cars fell and drive the same..U just need to control trail and throttle for the famous low speed spun on All car mods..Graphic is Cartoon. though iRacing is pretty good and i luv it very much..Online = IRacing Offline = AC period.!

      • varis11

So its time for you to delete your rf2 and stop crapping, Mr. Cock.

      • Cock Pit

My rf2 is now in dormant zombie mode.. need something to stimulate it back to aggressive mode.

      • Michael Hornbuckle

You got me….I have never used a clutch in a semi-auto car in real life….smh

      • melanieuk1

It’s a waste of your own time, giving advice to someone, who’s constantly claiming ac physics is “arcade it don’t feel good, it’s arcade, it’s arcade” check their comment history, then continue enjoying how great the physics are now in assetto corsa, Stefano is king.

      • Robert Gödicke

In other words, it should not stall, but did in AC?
What Manuel meant happens with cars which have a H-Shifter though. You cannot get the car to roll by just using the clutch. It’s ok that the cars can’t stall at all right now because we don’t have an ignition yet, but not being able to get the car rolling using the clutch feels like every car has 0Nm of torque, which is caused by the engine physics/clutch simulation.

      • Deatroy

Assetto still got the famous low speed physics bug.
Accept it, but the physics are great after you get over 4 km/h.

    • RKipker

Could you explain…what added effects? How to turn off?

      • Michael Hornbuckle

Go to options/controls/advanced in game..there are three sliders labeled ‘slip effects’, ‘road effects’, and ‘kerb effects’….with all of these set to zero your wheel is receiving the most ‘pure’ FFB; that is, it is receiving only the forces that are being exerted through the steering rack….since we don’t get the ‘seat of the pants’ feel in our sim rigs Kunos have made these secondary forces, or ‘canned effects’ to transmit through your wheel what the car is doing.

      • JorgeDeeeeeaz

After reading your comment here I thought I might try that as well. However, now I have no rumble when going over the curbs, or studdering when having massive understeer. Tbh, it’s hard to compare with real life what you actually feel through the steering rack, but I think it’s a lot more than what I get with all sliders to 0%. Maybe my real car thanks to not having servo assistance and a very direct feedback is being the exemption, but in AC I still need some value on all 3 sliders to feel comfortable.

      • RKipker

Thanks, I knew that… LOL! Didn’t realize that was the additional effect. Though I like the Kerbs, I’ll do it to feel the True FFB. Thanks for taking time to help my friend!
        RKip

BTW I do get the “seat of my Pants” feel in my rigs, have two butt kickers on each rig, two separate rigs. A triple screen and 40″ single screen…. :^)

    • Professional Operator

Yes, it’s a little step in the right direction. But what I don’t like is how AI recognize the player behind them and drammatically change path in order to let the user pass. It looks too Gran Turismoish, which is no good since Gran Tursimo has probably the worst and slowest AI in all sim racing history!

  • cristian flores

como hacer para usar cambios en H en todos los autos?

  • Professional Operator

    “- AI improvements”

I think this is where Kunos need to focus the most, from what I’ve seen so far it’s their Achilles heel. Glad to see them working.

  • Robert Gödicke

Sadly, the biggest issue I have is still present. When playing in multiplayer, the other players’ cars randomly start warping all over the place. It’s unplayable like that. I can look over a lot other issues (there are still quite many), but since singleplayer is the most boring and unchallenging thing in a sim ever for me, I can’t play AC until this gets fixed.

    http://youtu.be/mfM4KyQw7lw

    • Justin Cruze

I’ve had a lot of fun with multi-player in AC but have to agree – the netcode seems a long way from iracing/rfactor at this stage.

    • Jos

i must be lucky every time i join a server.

you on a wireless network maybe?

      • Robert Gödicke

Noup. Rock solid cable connected and no issues in any other game.

    • melanieuk1

Then maybe you should actively take part in the early access process and report it to kunos that’s what early access is all about, see a bug?, having issues?, report it, I’ve never seen or heard of anyone else having this problem, and I have a lot of friends actively taking part in the early access stage and reporting issues found.

      • Robert Gödicke

Ok… Everyone I know personally has had these issues already. So I (or better say we) thought it was a known problem, and especially knowing the netcode is (obviously) still in a very early stage, like mentioned everytime you click on multiplayer, I thought I just might wait until there are more features implemented anyway and see if the netcode got better by then (which it probably will be, hopefully).

      • Jos

i had the problem today too, the guy in front of me had a ping of 170 and was going back and forth and then i crashed into him.

  • melanieuk1
