Kunos Simulazioni’s Stefano Casillo has released another one of his weekly Assetto Corsa coding live streams.

As usual, Stefano both shows off plenty of his upcoming work and answers questions from the chat as well!

  • Michael Hornbuckle

    Summary:
Tracks in SP will have DRS zones in v1.3 and there will be the ability to have custom DRS zones on tracks that you are hosting in MP. He codes the app that will be used to set and save the custom DRS zones.

He is looking into other DRS related rules, such as not allowing its use until x lap, having to be x amount of seconds behind a car in order to use it, and limited number of uses per race.

He mentioned that the high load linearity issue that affects high downforce cars in high speed sections of tracks has been corrected in 1.3

Cars with semi-auto gearboxes will now have downshift protection; if the revs are too high the car will refuse to shift down.

He explained and broke a couple things down for modders:
He explained the errors set to warnings=x setting in the AC ini. He showed what to look for in the logs when getting a game crash and also explained that the version number is actually a reference number that AC uses (should be the same as in the example Tatuus) and not a version number for the mod.

He said that 1.3 would rollback the changes made to the ABS systems

He showed an example of the new loading screens.

What’s the issue with the new ABS system ?

      • Martin Palm

It doesn’t work properly, the cars (primarily the road cars) doesn’t stop like they should.
