WSGT 2 – Renault Megane in rFactor 2 Preview

Team RMT has released a new preview of their World Super GT 2 mod, showing the Renault Megane Trophy car in rFactor 2.

While RMT recently announced that the new Mazda 3 race car will be heading for Assetto Corsa, the team would have a surprise for rF2 users in store – Is this it?

Powered Renault Sport Technologies, the Megane Trophy is a spec series using tubeframe race cars powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine that puts out 360hp. The cars weigh little over 1000 kilos and feature advanced racing technologies such as a paddle-shifting system, double wishbone suspension and adjustable dampers.

Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2, World Super GT 2 will bring some of of the most legendary GT cars of the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery to rFactor 2 and/or Assetto Corsa.

Forgive me, lack of knowledge, is this the same car as ISI’s Megane? If so, will it be better in some way?

It is a different model. We did this one scratch build in 2009 While waiting for the then rumoured rF2

I would be surprised if RMT’s version had better handling (IMO), but I realize that’s a subjective issue.

Your cockpit detail certainly looks superior to the current ISI built Megane. I know which i would rather be staring at for a race length :)

That is a damn fine cockpit!

sorry for the question, can we expect release for 2013 or only when rf2 be on the final release?

  • http://twitter.com/TheRoggan Roger

That is a VERY nice interior!!

The Megane is a really nice race car, just enough power to go quick but not too much so it can be thrown around a bit, and it’s RWD!

Wouldn’t it have been better to take the Mazda to rF2 and Megane to AC? :) I will enjoy all cars in any sim regardless :)

We always had the dea, to wait for it to go gold, but we sure won’t wait for 2014. we waited enough i guess.

The Mazda has more then one purpose. The game model is secondary. The final word will be Arnolds as far as the Mazda is concerned. Klaas his Mazda prototype will appear on rF2 for sure.

    Make it for both!

Nice work , the texture detail and ware is very well done.

The current rF2 megane did not impress me that much.
So this makes me looking forward to the RMT version

    Cool, good to hear! :)

Looking forward to driving both cars in which ever sim they go to!

Would be extra cool to have the exact same car ported to both sims for comparison purposes! :)

Dude that is an understatement this is scarey detailed. Thanks guys for all the work cant wait to see the end product!

So far I’ve seen a Megane and a GT-R for this mod. Don’t these guys pay attention? Why would I want a mod with cars in it that are already in the game? It’s be like releasing a mod to GTL with a Cortina and a Capri in it… hello, it’s already been done….

This Megane was created somewhere in 2009, long before we knew ISI would produce a Megane. Since most of the work is completed already, we decided to finish it anyway. The GT-R we made is Super GT spec, totally different to the GT1 car that is in rFactor2. Perhaps you’re more interested in the other cars we’re working on though.

    I’m disappointed

A 2013 release would be great. I usually prefer modding teams and developers to take their time before they release anything, as I don’t like rushed products.

But the modding scene has recently come to a “stasis”, if you know what I mean, and I think a release of this importance would be refreshing for everybody!

Anyway, keep up the great work guys!

Cause the level of details is different. And as Klaas mentioned, our contents were done way earlier than ISI’s….

    Looks really good!
Hope it will provide some nice league racing! :)

Really nice!! One reason I hardly touch rfactor2 actually is how badly they did this car’s interior as it loooks like a bad rfactor1 mod. but THIS!! WOW!! Hopefully we’ll get some tracks to match also rather than the current regurgitated RF1 stuff coming out.
