WSGT 2 – Megane Mod Coming Soon

Team RMT has announced that their Megane Trophy Mod for rFactor 2 is due to be released soon.

According to the team, the mod will be available some timei in January. Until then, you can check out plenty of new previews below.

The mod will gives us the chance to compare ISI’s stock content Renault Megane with a community product as RMT’s car is 100% sractch-made.

Veteran sim racers will remember that this car was originally created for rFactor 1 and the team’s World Super GT 2 mod. RMT decided to drop rFactor in favor of rFactor 2, a decision the team partly regrets now.

Following a slow down period due to rFactor 2′s development time and a busy private life, the team is back to full swing now as the Megane will be followed up with more WSGT 2 cars that will be released for rFactor 2 later.

Powered Renault Sport Technologies, the Megane Trophy is a spec series using tubeframe race cars powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine that puts out 360hp. The cars weigh little over 1000 kilos and feature advanced racing technologies such as a paddle-shifting system, double wishbone suspension and adjustable dampers.

    Can’t wait :)

You’ve got to love holidays. Largely because I’ve had time to tweak setup better, I’ve rediscovered rF2 again and, in its latest form, it is pretty stunning. As I just mentioned on another VirtualR thread, the “out of the box” sim has been made so user unfriendly by ISI – no supplied killer setups, green default tracks – is it any wonder that rF2 gets a rough ride!

Therefore the return of one of the classic mods in the new sim is so welcome. As a suggestion, it might be a great idea to supply some good setups guys?

I have been driving the demo version of rF2 the last six months. The car does not feel very drivable to me, though, compared to iR or AC. Steering feels quite unnatural.

I have been waiting for WSGT 2 like forever. Once its out I might go to full version of rF2.

The ISI cars are not the most driveable indeed. Maybe after several laps and a rubbered track, but even then, not the best.

  • Franklin Stegink

    Yes that great news.
I know that the quality of the mod makers is very good.

What’s really hurting this title, in my estimation, is the poor initial car setup per track and the green circuits too. Having had a bit of time to tinker with rF2 during the holidays, it totally transforms with a decent setup. ISI would do well to address those issues, if they would like a wider product audience.

  • Realkman666

Surprisingly, URD are making similar mistakes with their setups, even though the cars are more drivable.

    Wonderful I cannot wait!!!

So your making your judgements over the demo version? I would say there is a fairly wide range of different handling cars in rF2. I will however agree there are some I like better than others. Also there are those that like sweaty palms and white knuckles.

  • Anonymous

Yes I agree race cars should unload off the truck fairly drivable and then speed tweaked into the setup.

Gonna be fun to compare this to the stock megane. The stock megane is so driveable though dont know what people are talking about

Hold your (race) horses Birddogg66. rF2 demo co-exists for a long – long period with the payable version and should firmly represent of the latter – or not?

  • Anonymous

Well AFAIK the demo included the Corvette So yes it should represent how the Corvette drives in the full product and not necessarily the handling of the Formula Renault or the Clio for that matter.

  • Realkman666

If I wanted to spin out at 80 km/h in 2nd gear while barely doing anything, I’d play iRacing.

  • Realkman666

The car in the demo uses slicks, and these are the worst tires that ISI makes. They’re like stone.

HaHa a fricken down vote for this? Hehe keep em coming if it makes you feel better about yourself! :)

I believe it wasnt a mistake, rFactor 2 as got a lot of potential. Cars
in rF2 are really stunning and it’s day and night compared to rF1
(although rF1 cars look better than just OK, freaking love that game).
Anyways thanks to all the modders and RMT are definitly a top tier
    modding team.

Looks great guys. Happy to see this QA standard for rf2.

There we are again, downvotes for love. How silly people can be VirtualR shows off very well.

Yes and by not revealing themselves as the culprits they express their juvenility quite well.
