I’d be a lot more optimistic if they were using a good ffb wheel for development instead of a pad.

  • Big Ron

To be serious, I thought the same :D But a graphics artist doesn´t always need/ want to plug in a wheel, I think :)

Looks promising. I’m a fan of milestone, Screamer remains my favorite arcade racer of all time on PC.

Ha, I have fond memories of screamer too. Had no idea it was a milestone game until a year or two ago.
I used to play it on this lol

  • Lemming77

Personally, I still play Screamer! I got my hands on it from GOG a while ago, and it runs quite nicely on my Windows 7 64-bit machine! Very few bugs and crashes. :)

It’s probably not a good comparison to what they’re trying to do with the WRC games, however. Screamer was supposed to be in the same field as Ridge Racer, while WRC isn’t. :P

It’s in the same field as Dirt, and if the physics are half-way decent, I’d say it stands a good shot and ending up in my collection, something Dirt hasn’t really. It *looks* like they are *very slowly* focusing the game more and more to what it should be, hopefully it continues that route, and the sales pick up to accelerate that focus.

Good to hear Screamer is still alive and kicking (and screaming) for some people, might add myself to that list :)

Do graphics artists ever need a wheel?

I’m going to take it to mean the best rally game (not sim) ever made by THEM.

  • Mark

I consider it a masterpiece, the game pretty much represents what I think an arcade racer should be: Pick a car, pick a track, RACE. Play a tournament to unlock more cars/tracks, a time trial or a single race. No Career/storyline nonsense, no money to buy cars, licenses or other stupid gimmicks. Times changed sadly.

I have some crashes on DOSBOX that are EXACTLY like happened on old dos back in the day.

After some extensive research around, I learned that there was some problems with the track Sunbeach Hill when you play it on SVGA (640×480) mode. IT usually crashes on the docks checkpoint, sometimes on the first, second or third lap. I was able to finish a few times without crashes, but it was very unusual.

  • Big Ron

Not really, to test any work a gamepad is enough, I guess.

    I saw col de turini!

  • Lemming77

Haha, well, kudos to the guys who made Dosbox for keeping the bugs intact! :P

  • Mark

Lol, I think i’ll send an email for milestone requesting a patch, they’re 16 years late! :D
