WRC 3 – EC Sim Hardware Physics Patch 0.5

Black Bean & Milestone’s WRC 3 title has been out for a good two weeks now and first modding projects are already in full swing.

ECSim Hardware are among the first to touch the new title as the team is working on nothing less but an overhaul of the title’s physics.

The team has released a first version of their Advanced Physics Engine for WRC3, you can download the 0.5 version below and check out a video of the new physics in action.

    watch 1:50 – really? In a 2012 game?

  • Guilherme Cramer

Could be one little mistake or forgotten bit. Also it’s Milestone, meaning this must be 2009 or 2010 engine at best.

  • mclaren777

I don’t see any issues around the 1:50 mark.

  • Stuart Fields

Yep, you got me, whats the big issue at 1:50? The only thing I can see that bugs me a bit is the excessive tyre smoke but when your driving looking forwards that amounts to nothing.

  • Juhan Voolaid

I think he means the sliding on to the curbstone without any penalty.

  • Juhan Voolaid

So can anybody comment the video or this patch. What is different, what is better?

Less grip, more torque, and a more difficult challenge…and probably a better force feedback (not tested yet).

For me, it’s better…but it could be much better.

  • Juhan Voolaid

    Will it mess up multiplayer?

  • Ricardo Moreira

@1.50 the car just goes “through” the sidewalk.. I think thats what he means..

has anyone got their G27 at 640 degrees yet? instead of the stupid 180 degrees?

  • http://twitter.com/Uff182 Andrea Candini

    It’s a new engine.

  • Niels Heusinkveld

Its a bit worrying that everything these days, hardware, software, is super, advanced, mega, realistic. Easy words to use in marketing, hard to actually live up to. Why don’t people just say they did their best at making it better and let us decide if its actually advanced?

  • http://www.facebook.com/mathieu.bouquet.7 Mathieu Bouquet

No, you can not play on multiplayer sessions with this patch.

  • panrok90

Bad patch for me! It has less grip but also a strange feeling! If you start normal the car is very slow. If you tap the throttle it spins constantly. Also the decoration has changed like advertise themselves.
Generally, it gives you an inaccurate steering feeling.

fully agree, the same thing came to my mind while watching this…come on, what is this?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alex-Ventura/1781152850 Alex Ventura

If you look carefully it looks as if the tire behavior is not 3D, as it goes up the sidewalk after hitting it…in one movement.

  • k m

Yep, true, really bad for me also.

  • Big Ron

Looks better than the original physics. But for a tarmac road the behavior looks way too slippery.

way to much push, went back to original which i find pretty good fun reminds me of CMR with much better graphics stages are very good as well

too slippery and weird force feedback feeling

  • Philip Samuelson

Yeah I’m with you. I’m sorry to EC Sim, whilst I appreciate the effort… This patch is truly dreadful.
