Worlds Fastest Gamer James Baldwin Heads To British GT

James Baldwin, winner of the 2019 World’s Fastest Gamer eSports competition, continues his transition into becoming a real life racing ace by getting to compete in the 2020 British GT Series.

Originally, Baldwin was scheduled to compete in the GT World Challenge Europe driving for Jenson Team Rocket RJN (yes, that’s Jenson Button co-owning that team) but the Covid-19 related stoppage of racing earlier this year has changed the teams plans.

Instead of competing in four rounds of the GT World Challenge Europe, Baldwin and partner Michael O’Brien will get more seat time in their McLaren 720S GT3 in the British national GT series that consists of nine races spread across six race weekends on the shortened 2020 calendar.

The eSports ace will also get his first taste of real-life GT racing as Baldwin will be one of the four drivers the team will be contesting the Spa Francorchamps 25 Hours race (not a typo, the switch from daylight savings time prolongs the Belgian classic this year) with in September.
