RMT’s Arnold Wong has finished modeling the Nissan R390 for the World Super GT 2 mod, sending it on its first ever test run. The car is not sporting a template or textures yet, nevertheless it’s looking very pretty already.
Built to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the R390 was powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5 litre V8 engine. The car raced in the 1997 & 1998 Le Mans 24 Hours, only one road car was ever built for homologation purposes.
Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2 , World Super GT 2 will feature legendary GT cars from the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery, the mod will be released for an upcoming next-gen simulation.

Looks good but I wish they would have finished the WSGT conversion to rFactor before turning their efforts to a new mod. Us rFactor guys and gals have got the short end of the stick from RMT.

As we stated before, the WSGT2 and our private lives take up about all the time that is left. We sleep an average of 4 hours a day. :-). However, there is hope. a few weeks ago we started looking out for a thirth party team that could and would like to do the last few bits of work on the rFactor conversion of the WSGT-1 mod. not many choices turned out ok , but KlaaVh has finaly found a team of people that is up for it. I do understand that it might seem odd, but after working on a fairly big mod for 1.5 years , a conversion is a pain in the …
We want to have the WSGT2 almost ready by the time rF2 is released.
Further more we are trying to raise the bar as far as models , gfx and specialy the cockpits are concerned. so the WSGT takes up even more time. However, we learned alot, and with a smaller team we now even work faster then ever.
Moddeling, Templating , Sound , physics, testing and answering all the critics takes up a massive amound of time and hard work. Believe me. A big modding project is not a hobby, but pure Sado masochisme. :-)

Thanks for the response WiX, that’s great news. I apologize if I came off sounding harsh in my first post.

Great model ;)
Only little crytic (stupid) is about rear lights..seems to be a little bigger than real :)
(i’m talkin’about “Calsonic” ‘98 car, because ‘97 “Clarion” car was different on rear)

Was this already confirmed, or did Wix just let slip that it’s for rF2? That’s what everyone was guessing anyway :-D

How about packaged with rF2?
I for one (and a lot of others) don’t want a repeat of history when it comes to giving rF2 the best possible debut to ALL audiences. I’m already hoping the rF2 devs are having little conversations with all the major mod teams out there, as they said themselves their business model is unorthodox.

To bad is not coming for Evo or GTR2. I’m not really into rFactor.
