No Evo version, what a waste..

No kidding Gopher. GTR-Evo is the best sim out there right now, and TWO big mod groups have said they’re not releasing for it.

It’s not THAT difficult to convert to other sims, especially ones in the Simbin family, so there’s no excuse other than “na na na na na” school playground mentality thinking behind it IMO.

Releasing for RF is a waste as the AI is pathetic, and there are so many mods that it’ll be flavour of the week and then most likely ignored online. GTR2 is probably the best from a feature perspective, but GTR-Evo has far superior AI, better weather etc… All I can see GTR2 having going for it is a day/night cycle, and to be honest I’d rather see the mods in Evo than a much older sim just so I can race at night.

And he should change his name to Arnold Wrong.

you know that all three games use the isi engine ? in fact that gtr evo does not have day night change .

Stop bashing about these guys. They’re the ones making the mod so they have the rights to release it on the platform they want.
rfactor is a game made for modding.. so it’s normal that most of the mods are released for it.

Wow impressive work again

It would be good to see these in Evo, but WSGT has got me playing GTR2 again so I’m not going to moan at the modders over it.

What people seem to be forgetting is that it will take at least a year before WSGT 2 is done, probably even longer. Who know’s what the best ISI platform sim will be by then?

We’re busy converting WSGT1 over to rFactor but it’s going slow simply because most of use lost interest in the V1 cars and rather work on somehting new. A conversion to EVO would slow us down even more.

Everyone knows it’s extremely easy to convert the things. We RMT have discussed about Modding on GTRE before internally. The conclusion is that GTRE doesn’t support modding that much. We need to modify tons of things to make a standalone series, we need to hex edit the things, and the most important thing is that, it has a car limitation.

stunning work again however i really hope that this does come to GTR Evo. Evo needs the Mclarens !!

So, how did it run? I’d assume on its own it wasn’t too bad but the problems will start once you get towards a fuller field..

The only important thing missing in GTR Evo is the day night change. Everything else is better than GTR2.

Modding for the past? Th will be a future mod for a future sim.

Once WSGT2 is pretty much done, which will be around 2010, and Evo is still best we might do it for Evo, but I doubt it will be the best sim then.

Gotta agree with Klaas and Arnold here… at this time if you’re starting a new mod this is the only way to go. With the time these things take to complete WSGT2 could be one of the first mods released on a new platform. I’ve got a couple of things in the planning phase for whatever this new platform is myself.

I guess people need to realise that this isn’t going to be out next week, or for a sim that currently exists. So talk of GTR2 vs Evo vs rFactor is pretty pointless.

Well who knows, we may have a Lizard based GTR3 by then and that would be something else with WSGT2 in it

Anyway, as for the pics… meh, typical Arnold Wong stuff. Nothing new. Same old brilliant quality, excellent models and crisp sharp liveries. Nothing else to see here ;)

Just to clarify:

I have great admiration for all those who take there time and create content for the auto sims, without any remuneration. (I also have created small things for the games since old GP2 to now).

I just think that does not make sence to create mods for GTR2 or rFactor at the moment, since GTR Evolution is out there and the rfactor 2 is coming.

Arnold Wong, do what you want, but keep doing it, becouse you do it so well!

I dunno what all this rubbish about GTR Evo is about, you’d think its a giant leap from any other gmotor2 sim. Wrong, its basically RACE 07 with another version of nordschleife, some extra cars and some little tweaks to improve the game. With most of these “improvements” you can get the same or better results in rFactor or GTR2 anyway, not to mention GTR-E is inherantly a closed platform and therefore a pain in the ass to mod.

Nice screenies Arnold, although they do look distinctly rFactor-ish
