World Super GT 2 – Laguna Seca Alpha Preview Video

Team RMT has released a new preview video of their upcoming World Super GT 2 mod for rFactor 2, showing an alpha-build of the mod running in rFactor for testing purposes.

The video shows a 24-car race at Laguna Seca, using a first batch of ThinlaneT’s alpha sounds. Even though this mod is still very much work in progress and not even running in the simulation it’s being made for, it already looks like WSGT 2 will set new benchmarks in terms of quality.

Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2, World Super GT 2 will bring some of of the most legendary GT cars of the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery to rFactor 2.

    Great Stuff!

    just listen to that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBAVqw6No2Q&hd=1#t=171

but would be nice to see how it turns out in rFactor 2

Socks duly blown off. Amazing.

    Proper job!

The movement of the cars seem so real, I don’t know why, but their behaviour seem not too smooth, or too wobbly like AI. Their suspension, cornering and braking behaviour seem so real to me. What the trick?

When so much effort is being put into making this mod realistic, why do they have cars like the mid 90′s GT1 Ferrari F40 GTE ahead of a current GT500 Nissan GT-R, when in reality the Nissan would be a good five to ten seconds per lap quicker?

well, we are still far from making the performance of the cars realistic. thats 2010 work. for now, all cars have basic physics purely to accommodate the sound dev. in the tests we even put the Megane between the GT´s. i would not worry about the physics in the video. they are far from implemented. the only things we do at this moment is model checking, textures, cockpit models , cockpit textures , sound development, and having fun :-)
Effects , physics , detailing will be done in the last stage. when we got all ata concerning rFactor 2 .

This looks like the current rfactor to me. Is the mod-api and/or test-software for rfactor2 available somewhere? I understand that this isn’t expected to be released before rfactor2 is out, but it seems a long shot to claim it is for the new version if one doesn’t yet even know what graphics/physics features will be available. Looks pretty though.

Hi wix, wonderful work as usual. In this video you can easily see your stunning cars incredibly detailed. I’ve some little crytics (costructive of course) about some car sounds, but..i know are all in WIP so..no problem ;) great great work.
Just one question: have you planned to do real physics or just “challenge” physics? (so physics leveled)?
thanks in advance, keep up the good work!!

DeDios: we have been thinking about two sets. One, where we would try to get them as realistic as possible, and one balanced for online racing. Otherwise we would end up seeing the same car being used all over. ( like in GTR2 where about 90% only used the F550. :-)

  • DeDios

yes you’re right :) two sets are absolutely the best way! thanks for reply and..great job!
