To thank all their supporters, Team RMT has released two brand new high-resolution wallpapers, showing the Honda NSX GT500 which is part of their World Super GT 2 mod for rFactor 2.
The first render also has the Toyota GT-One lurking in the background, providing a double dose of eye-candy. These stunning renders use the in-game 3d model and texture, still the team promises a well-performing mod due to a good balance between details and performance.
Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2, World Super GT 2 will feature some of of the most legendary GT cars of the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery.
Hint: To fully enjoy those very high res images, please click “Full Size” once the image has opened.

If they put the effort they put into previews into their mod development, this mod would be long finished.

zzz. no way for me to work on the models everyday + I think we are fast enough already. And this will be for rFactor2 only, so where’s the point to finish it now?

So exactly how many 15-car mods that started in September are released for rFactor 2 already?

Stunning detail. Thx to RMT for the frequently previews.
It’s great to participate the community in the status of the development process.

UncleChuckle, stop whining. Making previews to get good reactions is half of the fun in mod making, and these guys are still doing it as a hobby to enjoy themselves. If you’re such a smart guy, do it yourself, but stop being so negative about others great work.

UncleChuckle: i still wonder what in the name of …. people like you do on a website like this. if you want a quick snack, you dont go to a five star restaurant.
If there are a few things we have learned doing the WSGT1, patients is one of them. Some things take time. And we need to build up our own motivation to keep the quality and realisme high. Its bad enough without all the pessimist out there. Modding is a hobby, if it was not , it would be our job and you would rarely see a progress shot. so i guess the need for speed forums would be a better place for you to hang out.
that said. For those who did notice, THe RMT team is much smaller now, but yet we actually made more progress then on the WSGT1 . Work flow is much more organized. Models are way better, and the texture level is up a notch. The cars are far more authentic. Once the first test version is out, Thinlane will start the sounds. We will try to raise the bar of the sound also. We will try to get a real good Physics editor involved this time. Further more we have a few surprises up our sleeves. At the moment we could say we are even ahead of schedule. And at this time, not even the entire team has started working due to the schedule we put up.
In General we all learned allot doing the WSGT2. It is a fact that a small part of the community just want a quick race , or even rip, and move on to the next WIP. However, judging by the mails we receive, the other part really liked that we want to raise the bar and want to learn from our previous mistakes. The screenshots we showed now are only a small part of what we have already. Appart from doing the PR and communication, KlaasVH might also have a small surprise up his sleeve. Arnold is getting better model by model. My own focus will be without a doubt to raise the bar of the cockpit gfx.Its going to be great fun, because most of the GT500 cars have a complicated cockpit structure. The skinning team has learned to be as accurate as can be. Based on our rF1 tests all is well, and we can only wait and see what rF2 will let us do,to even try and make it a more fun experience.
In the end of the day we do it for the community, but even more for ourselves. it still remains a hobby. Websites like VirtualR and numerous others are a significant part of that hobby. so lets all enjoy the posts on the portals and websites arround. They do create a better community feel and give the mods and modders some extra purpose.

Reading what WiX wrote here, about Arnold getting better with 3D and the plans for improving the new WSGT2 by all standards, i’d say rF2 mods will make a hell of a sim and a good platform for modding. “Further more we have a few surprises up our sleeves” I am so enthusiastic about this project i can hardly restrain myself.
Wish you BSR all the best, cheers

BSR-WIX, You certainly don’t need to justify or explain yourselves to comments such as those from UncleChuckle.
Just carry on doing what you’re doing and when rF2 comes out, we will have something great to look forward to.

What a stupid thing to say. You clearly have no idea the amount of work that goes into making a scratch mod of this caliber.

There’s only a thing which is “wrong” in these renders: cars still are in the garage, they need to run free on the track!

Just kidding: I like both of them, in particular the first one!
This mod will certainly worth the wait: it will be a pleasure to find out how a proper mod can look (and drive) on rF2. Thanks again for the renders!

UncleChuckle need a BAN…

Nooo, dont ban him.
Yes, he shoots himself in the foot a lot, but he is very funny from time to time.
Congrats to Wix and Co, this looks like an epic mod. Too bad WSGT1 for rFactor collapsed, but I tried it a bit in GTR2 and it rocked.

Now you mention it Stabiz .. i wondered when you where going to do a Video of the WSGT1 . i am shure it would have been a little jewel. Thanks for the comments.
And no, nobody needs to be banned … sometimes those comments just make you react, thats all.

Well I think Uncle Chuckle will think twice about posting his views here again.
The mod looks amazing. WSGT1 was outstanding for gtr2 and I cannot wait for rf2 and this.

I would for sure have done several in the rFactor version, Wix, the camera options in GTR2 are so limited.
But hey, rFactor 2 it is!

Now there’s an ideea Stabiz, maybe you could make a preview video on WSGT2, and also get a first glance at what the mod will be like
Ofcourse if the guys at BSR are willing to let you do it. Will sure have a good impact on the sim community, with your talent in making good videos.

Hehe, that would be nice, paupau.
By the way, I am watching the 1998 FIA GT season at the moment, and although it was not one of the best seasons, the foundation of a 1998 FIA GT mod is there. RMT could do it, they already have the CLK GTR and the Mclaren, the Porsches and Vipers could be borrowed from GTR2, the Panoz from ISI and the Marcos is(or was?) in the works. All you need then is the Porsche GT1 and some talented skinners. *drool*

It would be nice, but not realistic at this time, because we will only do Scratch build mods. The cars itself would not be a problem. The GT1 is actually build,a few Porches and a viper would not be a big problem… but for now we will stay focused on the WSGT2.
