World Super GT 2 – Honda HSV 010 Testing Video

Following several previews of the car, Team RMT has now released a first video of Honda’s HSV 010 Super GT race car – The latest addition to the team’s World Super GT 2 mod for rFactor 2.

As usual with these WSGT2 preview videos, the car is shown running in rFactor for testing purposes, using a alpha set of sounds.

The HSV 010 will make it’s Super GT debut in 2010, replacing Honda’s aging NSX model in their fight against Nissan and Lexus for the series title. The car is powered by a 3.4 liter V8 engine, putting out about 500hp and 400nm of torque. Unlike other Super GT cars, the HSV 010 is not based on a road-going model but a pure purpose-built prototype race car.

Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2, World Super GT 2 will bring some of of the most legendary GT cars of the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery to rFactor 2.

    What’s with that Suzuka? Is it a popular release? I don’t remember seeing one that didn’t look like a butt before. None of this looks like a mod on a placeholder engine at all. Throw in some ENBSeries and you’d think it’s GT5.

    I’m afraid this is one time where rFactor simply isn’t doing any justice to those external sounds. Thinlane can keep working on those samples but you can only go so far. :sad2: I seriously hope rF2 brings us some proper atmosphere into the sound-scape.

    Yep, the Miles sound-system used in rFactor has his limitations. On the other hand i have to say that when we run a full field, i am still impressed by the sound. The soundset will be as good as we can make it, and will be used for the rF1 Version. We will not release the RF1 version of the WSGT2 before the RF2 release, but we planned to release it at some stage. Mainly because we developed big part of it in rF1. As far as the Rf2 enfine is concerned we can only hope. We even keep our eyes open for other platforms.

    I don’t think I have ever seen any free addon with this level of detail before. And I have played a crapload of them for almost every racing, flying and war sim out there. It looks even better than many paywares!

    I can’t figure out how you can work so hard and still keep it free.

    Because we don’t have licenses of those cars, we like those cars, so we can only do it freely. And some of the cars are not in the other games or the other games cannot satisfly our standard, that’s why we do the cars =P

    NicoloPicolo, imaginary physics no doubt just like 75% of all mods in all sims. My view is, if it’s fun to drive and drives in a realistic manner then who cares. It isn’t like I will be driving a Super GT car anytime soon to know the difference. :)

    You\re not entirely wrong here. Finding detailed information is especially difficult for the GT500 cars. I wouldn’t call it “imaginary physics” though, it is mostly educatd guesses for the things we don’t know.
