RMT’s Wix has finished the template for World Super GT 2’s Honda HSV 010 model, showing the Super GT race car in the carbon paint scheme that was used during the car’s testing debut.
The HSV 010 will make it’s Super GT debut in 2010, replacing Honda’s aging NSX model in their fight against Nissan and Lexus for the series title. The car is powered by a 3.4 liter V8 engine, putting out about 500hp and 400nm of torque. Unlike other Super GT cars, the HSV 010 is not based on a road-going model but a pure purpose-built prototype race car.
Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2, World Super GT 2 will bring some of of the most legendary GT cars of the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery to rFactor 2.

Beautiful.
And can you just leave the skin just like that for a paint scheme please?

And what sort of frame rates will we get from rFactor2 with these models ?
Anyone thought about that ?
Or do you all already have overclocked watercooled ‘gaming’ PC’s with $500 video cards ?

delaney1970 : framerate will be ok dont worry. but remember, you dont go fishing for swordfish with a toy fishingrod…
With a fairly nice game system , it will be better then you expect. just dont think we are doing all the work on this mod to get a go on it with an average office PC. if you checked the previous posts and the video´s , you should get an idea about it. Highend gaming uses highend PC´s , every serious simracer knows that. only , highend these days is cheap , and will be even average by the time we finish the mod.

So ninja pc’s only then, wife ,2 kids , mortgage, 2 cars to run, high end gaming pc is fairly near the bottom of most peoples lists I would imagine

I know it may sound harsh, but i dont race GT cars in real life , because i cant afford a Porsche RSR. dont you think a discussion like this would be absolutely useless.
as said before. The system you will need to run the WSGT is what i call average. A 300Dollar video card with a halve decent PC will do . If someone cant affort that , then i do feel with them , believe me. But in the end of the day , there are a million things i cant afford. yet … you dont see me go complaining at the Maserati shop.
PS: If you can run 2 cars , and decided to have two kids…. i cant understand a simple PC would be the problem all of a sudden.

It’s called life my friend. The point being try releasing it in rf1 first then release for rf2, it’s terrible being teased with all these super duper videos and screenies, saying look but don’t touch.Jeez you havent released wsgt for rf yet and your teasing us with wsgt2

Dude, WSGT2 is not going to be done tmr, so who knows what will be the leading sim when all the stuffs are done. It does make sense to put the stuffs in rF as we need a game to show the models and textures.

I Can understand you up to a certain point, but i would get wrid of the frustration if i was you. what did you expect ? we would release it halve finished , and give out a unfinished mod , so people could touch it. I dont understand what you are doing on this site , if you dont like previews i have to say…

My point being you release too many previews, it’s like a child going”daddy daddy ,look what I can do, am I not clever”yes we all like to see work progressing why not give us something we can play, like wsgt for Rfactor for instance, or is that beneath you now.

We release the previews that often is just because we are really having progress almost everyday. So the community can follow where we are and have a rough idea about how the development goes on.

roadkill ken: if we knew all sim racers would have that mentality, we would just keep the mod private. i can only add one thing roadkill ken … we make the previews for those who like to see them. it should be easy for you, just to look away if you have a problem with it.
Think of it. You are actually complaining before we even released the mod . that says more about you then us. Something tells me you have a problem with the fact that daddy is actually interested.
If we have to stop the previews in the name of the community, the community will let us know.

Forget all that whining about release dates. Some people want it to arrive yesterday as well as being free. Maybe you should pay them to install it ?
I do think you are being needlessly profligate with the computing resources of the end user. I know that sounds a bit pompous and smartarse, but I can’t think of a better way to explain what I mean.
There is all kinds of detail in the model which will only ever be seen when the car is on the spinner but will be eating up FPS in the game.
And being serious about simracing isn’t anything to do with having a PC that can run huge amounts of eye candy – it’s about the racing, the physics.
Well, it is for me anyway.

I agree wholeheartedly with you about sim racing, you shouldn’t need the very best pc to run mods and my point about wsgt2 is that the modders are showing us all of these wonderful videos and renders etc, when they haven’t released wsgt to rfactor , one thing at a time eh.I’d love to see wsgt2 in rf2 or rf1 for that matter and I know mods like this are very very labour intensive. So yes keep up the good work, but remember we don’t all have the very latest in hardware, which was my point originally.

I understand your point, Ken. The reason why the models are more detailed is because we modders want to improve ous skills too. If we did the models like the ones in WSGT 1 there would be no progress in 3 or 4 year and we should have called this mod WSGT 1.5.
as for WSGT1, we’re not working on it. It’s being done by some guys outside of the team. Will it ever be releaed? I don’t know. I don’t care either as I’d rather work on models or skins for WSGT2. I know we may have promised it but we’re not going work on it if we don’t want to. We have no obligation to do so, and that makes this a hobby and not a job.
Also, here’s a small piece of advice for you; When the mod is released, turn the model detail to ‘medium’ and the car will look like any other model and you should be fine.

End of discussion i should say. its simple , if you dont like something , you dont have to do anything with it. I always get really frustrated with these useless discussions. In the end of the day, we can do what we like. For those that dont like it. there is plenty of good other stuff arround. Simple.
