World Super GT 2 – First rFactor 2 In-Game Footage

Following the first showroom previews yesterday, Team RMT has released first in-game previews of their World Super GT 2 mod in rFactor 2.

The screenshots and two preview videos show a test run of the Aston Martin One-77 GT500 in rFactor 2 as the team starts exploring all the possibilities of the new platform.

Keep in mind that these are very early previews of the car in rFactor 2 as RMT points out that the car is far away from being in beta stage.

Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2, World Super GT 2 will bring some of of the most legendary GT cars of the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery to rFactor 2.

Super!! looks really good allready, early convert – but still, keep it up :)

  • Matt Orr

rF2 looks so much better with a very well done car model in it.

  • Anonymous

Sexy as hell. Great to see a decent model with the new lighting. Once we get some really nice tracks, this sim will shine. SPA though is very nice graphically from the cockpit.

  • http://twitter.com/jonneymendoza jono

    Looks better then GT5!!!!!!!

  • badracer

Are you kidding? The lightning of rF2 looks artificial and less detailed. In my opinion, rF2 does no justice to the beautiful cars in any way.

  • Ricoo

    I agree 100 %.

  • Ricoo

Some post FX will be added later. When done it will look better than GT5 without any doubt.

    Impressive for a rF2 mod.

  • Maciej Kosmalski

looks great, but sounds great too

  • badracer

We will see. But I doubt, that post effects will save anything, when low poly models and bad shaders already have broken the glass. .

awesome job RMT, car looks and sounds great.

    looks brilliant..

    Man oh man… That’s schweeeeeeeet !

I’m already in love… The wait is going to be difficult ;)

I like the sounds in hood view a lot already, and this is only an alpha mod on a beta sim ? *drool*

  • rui silva

Low poly count models ??!?!, I would love to see what you call high  poly count i really would …  ?

  • rui silva

    Mouth watering work …

  • badracer

I don´t mean the cars from WSGT2 (which are pretty high poly for a game), but the environment. Look the pit garages, 2d people etc. It´s in sum atmospherically, but looks a bit old.

The modding capabilities of rFactor 2 Open Beta is really impressive… really user friendly as the predecessor is. And the in-game is already great as well… I wonder how will be the final version would be? Hope to see more improvements from the team. Impressive work from RMT as well! Sweet as hell!

I cannot wait for this mod to come out.  The cars are gorgeous, the cockpits are the so detailed and its all been leading up to this… rFactor 2 release.
Sure looks like people are quickly getting to grips with the new modding techniques for rF2.

cant wait for this great mod. how long til we get it?

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Arnold said they would prefer to release it on the final version of rF2.

    I knooooow.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Can I ask you if you judge rF2 from screenshots or if you actually bought and tried the beta for more than 35 seconds ?

Initially I was disappointed too, but then I bought the beta and after a few hours of driving, I started noticing lots of details I didn’t see earlier, or effects you don’t even see on screenshots.

  • Marcos Sanz

trust me, shaders are more important than high poly…

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Have you seen ingame footage of WSGT2 cockpits ? Just in case I missed it…

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Just for information, which games has better mods than rF2 will ? Which beautiful modable simulator with perfect physics do you know of that we don’t ?

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

    Why compare ? It’s useless…

There are many preview videos of the cockpit tests

  • badracer

Like I said, in sum and especially in movement, rF2 looks pretty good and atmospheric….lots of track details and stuff. But if you look at screenshots, it looks pretty average since you see all the details as a still and how simple based some of the details are. Also the lightning is missing some effects which don´t let the scenery look much more advanced than rF1.

But let´s see, what will come after the beta and what they add till the final product.

Hoe kon ik BSimracing vergeten ?
Thanks for the link, Wim, I’ll definitely keep an eye on your page from now on.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

I remember now, those were the cockpits in rFactor1, and they look INSANE already…
There could never be enough praises for your amazing work… RMT r0x0rs ;)

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Ok, it’s what I thought. You’re bashing something you didn’t even try, solely based on screenshots.
Pardon me if I don’t give any credits to such unfounded whining.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Don’t bother, rui, he didn’t even see the game for real, he’s judging on the screenshots.

  • badracer

What are you talking? Why is my whining unfounded and especially: why is it whining? Are you a fanboy not accepting critics? If I want to judge the graphics of rFactor by videos and screenshots, it´s my right to do that and if I think, that rF2 looks good in movement, but lacks of overall modern look.

Accept that or not, but don´t let everyone look like a whiner, if he just comments critics…fanboy.

  • http://twitter.com/jonneymendoza jono

That car looks like a beast

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

You won’t look like a whiner if you don’t whine, mate, it’s just logic.

You claim to have so many rights, but to which obligations do you respond ? You can’t have rights without responsabilities. But that’s just for the rethoric, I’m not expecting you to follow.

And like you’d say : it’s my right to say that your whining are unfounded as you don’t even own the game and believe that just by videos you can speak of experience. You’re harming a honest company by constantly saying unfair comments about a game you don’t even own.
If that’s not being a whiner and a troll, I don’t know what is.

Moreover, during this troll war, you consistently liked posts by demonstrated trolls, proving on which side of rationality you stand. Sad for you.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=645597761 Sam Binfield

Laurent you are really on a crusade! Not everyone who is critical of rF2 is a troll, regardless of whether or not they share your opinion. As for bashing his opinion for being based on screenshots I think it makes you look stupid. Judging the graphics based on screenshots is a perfectly sane and accurate way to judge quality as they are one and the same. It is not as if badracer is judging the physics from screenshots. Just try and relax :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=645597761 Sam Binfield

These look really nice. I think this is evidence of similar graphical improvement to that of rF1, going from base-content to HistoriX, DRM, CTDP etc. Very inspiring to see these really detailed models, modders just keep on raising the bar.

  • http://display.vracing.pl Gniewko Ostrowski

i think it does not sound good at all, although it looks gr8.

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurent.cortier Laurent Cortier

Sam, I was indeed on a crusade, I was just completely fed up with the situation and negativity or many people on VirtualR. I took some time off to think about it and have calmed down since.

I do believe my point is still valid, though : you can’t judge a game/software/product solely based on screenshots and videos. That’s not fair, it doesn’t convey the real feeling of the game. And it’s an ego problem, there’s no room for that in a public blog.

My apologies to you if you were shocked by my agressivity, I was out of line in my tone.
