I was not even aware this mod was coming out.
The amount of mods coming out for rFactor is so much.
Quite difficult to keep track.

Dont let these comments get to you.
If the physics are great like you mentioned earlier, that is the hardest part of any mod.
Many mods look good but have lousy physics.

And a good mod is like a piece of art..
It's never finished.

Looking forward to the result!

Interesting to see that you know it all better now the mod is about to be released. Haven't seen you offering help when the mod was still WIP though...

One other tip: try to use Geggo's cubemaps..or alternative cubemaps for your models. For shure graphic effect will be better!!

yes, you can do "fake" shadows doing a layer in Photoshop, during skinning. No influence about framerate

A proper shading layer can make or break a mod on looks. It gives the car true definition instead of the plain look. If you know your way around Maya or even 3dsmax you can texture bake a quality shadow layer with proper lighting. It can really make low poly models look good

The Shadows i mentioned are just skinned on the model.
Parts that stick out get a bit lighter.
Part that goos deep gets a bit darker, with a bit of black gradient.
These do not have any impact on gameplay.
I don't mind to help you guys out a bit with it.
For a future release... :)
For GTR evo i did some skinning, these are among the most downloaded on nogrip.
I love these cars, have almost all of them as slotcar.

I too would like it if the cars would have the fake shadow thing you're mentioning, but as said, this is supposed to make it possible to you to run a full field. My pc is good so my narrow self-interest would be to make the models as high-poly as possible but I think they look good and don't mind them at all. Besides, they're not poor models, they are very good low-poly models. And of course what's far more important is physics. It's far easier for a mod to fail setting the right feel and atmosphere by poor physics or inability to set a proper race than by graphics being less than stellar, as the plethora of f1 mods could easily demonstrate. And physics on this thing are gonna be sweet.

Is see something missing with so many cars and tracks.
SHADOWS!!!
Have a short look at the Simbin cars, all their textures contain fake shadows.
As the g-motor engine is not really doing it fo you.
It gives the models much more depth and volume.

But i appriciate the work you guys put in to this mod.
Looking forward to give them a try!

the whole reason the models aren't top notch, is that they are conversions from f1c w/ minor updates and for the new scratchmade ones, they wanted to keep the same style, plus now 70 car grids are possible FPS-wise even on poor PC s:happy: and if they had redone each one it would've taken as long if not longer than the Prototype c mod
