CSGT has released their World Sportscar Championship 1970 mod for rFactor, bringing one of the most exciting years in sports car racing to the simulation.
WSC 1970 consists of almost 30 different car models, including legendary prototypes like the Porsche 917, the Ferrari 512S and the Ford GT40. Also included are the most famous GT cars of that era such as the Ferrari 365GTB, the Porsche 911 and the Chevrolet Corvette.
All in all, this massive mod includes 125 cars from the 1970 Le Mans 24 Hours and the World Sportscar Championship season, all coming with RealFeel compatible physics. A detailed RealFeel readme with all recommended settings can be found here, please make sure to also check out the physics readme here to get some background info on the cars.

That’s appareantly an error that happend when the file was compressed, CSGT is working on a new mirror that I will add in once it’s available.
Those who have the CSGT Holiday mod installed can copy the Corvette MAS file from there. If you don’t have it, don’t try the Corvette until the new download is available

Nice. We need more mods from the time when men were real men, genuinely risking their lives for their passion while their girlfriends and wives watched terrified from the pits and threatened to divorce them all the time unless they quit. A time when your car really was a paintbrush stroking the track rather than a ballpoint pen and a ruler. When chicanes were rare and fast, and sand traps were thin and the tracks were beautiful, with trees on the sides separated only by a few hay bails. Before the grim reaper stopped bothering to show up for the race.
A time when the drivers lit up a cigarette after the race and their behavior and appearance weren’t totally dictated by some sponsor.
Blah, blah, blah… you get the point.

The mod readme precludes conversion by others and I’m not aware that that the CSGT team are doing their own GTR2 version. A shame really as it did rain in 1970 :)
Downloading now and looking forward to trying this.

Could someone please upload just the file that needs to be replaced. Not gonna waste my time on a downloading 325mb again on a slow mirror like megaupload.

It’s like having sex with a fat girl. Ugly to look at but great fun nonetheless
The Matra is an absolute hoot to drive and sounds great.
Just a shame about the Atari ST graphics.
Physics 9.5 out of 10, 3d modelling 2 out of 10.
I know the idea is that the simple models let you use a huge grid, but you can’t do that online because of bandwidth and offline the AI will just punt you if are in a slow car and block you if you are in a fast one.
Thanks to the mod team.

Can’t get Realfeel to feel good. I made separate install for this with “Lite” and thought to give Realfeel a chance, but same as always earlier, I don’t like it.
So I guess it’s Leo’s time, once again.
(I use Leo in all of my >10 rF-installs)

Isnt there a download just for the fixed .mas file instead of having to re-download the entire mod?

There you go (not my upload). Haven’t had much time with the mod so far. Early impressions are pretty damn good however. 908 at Nurburgring is going to be a lot of fun.
