World Rally Championship – Two New Videos Available

Two new preview videos of Black Bean Games’ upcoming World Rally Championship title for the PC and gaming consoles are available, showing us some more gameplay footage of the title.

The first is a short official teaser released by Black Bean, showing some fast-paced scenes including a rollover crash. The second video, made by SimHQ.com, is much more interesting, showing off the title’s menu system, cockpit view and a good bunch of driving in the Citroen C4 WRC.

Developed by Milestone, World Rally Championship will be bringing all the action of the WRC to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC. The game will feature all 13 rally events from the 2010 schedule and extensive online features as players will be able to compete against the real WRC stars thanks to iOpener’s GPS technology. World Rally Championship is planned to be released in September 2010.

Oh dear… bouncing off plastic fences? I thought we passed that about 10 years ago…

Also, I lol’d at the trailer: More Official!

I still have hope for this game, but it should be way past this point considering it comes out in about 4 months time.

Portugal – Hardcore Simracer: Now you kept me intrested!!!!! Seems like the feeling of the car even with pad was very intresting, I hope RBR inspired you for some reason, now it´s time to give us some even better!!!

PS: Bouncing Plastic fences are not good…..

  • Uff

From what I read that is an alpha version with the lowest physic settings: there still is a lot of room for improvements and I think we’ll have to wait for something more complete than an alpha before we can say how the final game will actually be.

Did they not notice that rally cars end up of offroad quite a lot in rl,i watched an earlier vid from the devs and this vid contradicts their talk of how they had to model the surrounding area for when cars leave the track. When the cars hit plastic fences is amateurish at best, also the cockpit fov is terrible.
Dont get me wrong i want a great rally game but this will have to improve 1000% based on the actual footage from E3,trailer is the usual bull**** that we see from marketing depts. As far as im aware this is out 3rd quater .

Is the C4 with gravel tires? ‘Cause it sure “smokes” a lot on the tarmac stage…

hmm.. Can anyone explain the first video? What was with the Beverly Hills footage and Frank Sinatra’s star on the walk of fame? Were they trying to say it is more real then Beverly Hills? If so that isn’t a very tall bar to overcome. :)

I’m still looking forward to this. It is iopener enabled, and you can race on real stages… I haven’t given up hope yet. I’m hoping this video had damage turned off or was on rookie mode where you can’t blow through a plastic fence or something.

They said that you can go off the course in the dev video, I doubt that was a flat out lie about something like that, so there kind of has to be an alternate mode or something.

If nobody produces rally sims they are never going to improve.

DIRT 2 was a massive improvement over DIRT but basically ditched the rallying aspect.

This game only has a handful of WRC cars to model plus whatever junior series they choose to include. That means plenty of time can be sepnt on the physics and including plenty of realistic rally stages.

it is rediculous, that you huys are bashing the game and do not give the developers the chance to create a good game. they are in th alpha stadium, it is all, they can show at the moment.

you should create your own game, if you want to have it better ;)

And that is what the serious guys do. Never go Arcade, content is KING!
