World Rally Championship – New Video Trailer

Black Bean Games has released a new video trailer of their upcoming World Rally Championship title for the PC, Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.

The trailer blends real life WRC footage with gameplay action from the upcoming title, also included are sneak-peaks of the title’s menu interface.

Black Bean Games has also announced that the Australian Drum&Bass band Pendulum will be featured in the upcoming title. Pendulum music was also included in the video trailer but sadly got blocked out by Warner Music on Youtube, hence the missing audio in the trailer.

Developed by Milestone, World Rally Championship will be bringing all the action of the WRC to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC. The game will feature all 13 rally events from the 2010 schedule and cars from the WRC, Junior WRC and the Production WRC class. World Rally Championship is planned to be released in on October 8th 2010.

  • Turkey :D

I hope it gets released on Steam. That’s where most people would buy it.

  • Creatorex

Looks like old technology in comparison with others.

  • Dave

It looks far better than it did, especially the heli or track vies of the car driving ,but the cockpit view of the track makes the tracks look (Im not sure of a good word to use) but its more towards bad than good.
Some driving looks good (car handling)(is it in game or rendered)but at other points looks fully arcade.
However credit to the devs as they are providing a demo for customers to test before having to hand over cash.
Another dev being discussed on this site lately should take note but unlikely they will.

  • stabiz

I think it looks horrible. Watch the video and imagine the cars are little rc cars, only then do they look right. They seem to handle and move about like freekin rc cars.

Meh, only rF2 for me so far. (And F1 2010 if its moddable) I really dont want to auto-hate every racing sim/game offering that comes along, but the consolification that is happening ruins everything. Imagine Richard Burns Rally with 2010 graphics …

  • Turkey :D

I’ve been playing Rallisport Challenge a bit, and I expect similar physics/gameplay.

  • Philip Oakley

I’ll get this for the PS3. RBR will still be king of Rallying, but this will be quite nice for a short blast or if you have some friends at your house who don’t know much about Rally.

    Sims: rF(2), iRacing, RBR, GTR2
    Fun: F1 2010, Shift, WRC 2010, DiRT2

  • Wesley

Im still laughing, look at the first crash with the C4, i laughed my ass off. They really should quit with these vids as they are more likely to lose buyers than gain them.

  • 07wtcc

some multiplatform games have framerate issues on PS3. so I just recommend to wait a demo or some reviews

  • Philip Oakley

But my PC is terrible lol :P So it will run better on my PS3 than on my PC. Anyway, that’s the first I’ve heard of that issue!

  • paskowitz

GT5 will probably have more realistic physics and be a better rally game than this.

  • aceruber

anyone know the sys requiermnets for the game???

  • Kirby

This is looking a lot better :)

  • qawaza

The way the hairpin slides makes me wana cry…this centered pivot physics is what makes me hate CM2….& now we are back to square one in year 2010?

  • 07wtcc
  • XR3i TurboNutterBastard

They need a better video producer.

I thought the vid from gamecon-artist or wharever was better.  Maybe it’ll play ok ?   But I’m not excited by this product in the least.

The video lacks any loving slow tracked shots of beautifully modelled cars.   It lacks some examples of a few beautifully taken corners……a tricky cambered breaking zone into a hairpin….the car shuffling sideways under braking…..powering out of a corner.

Where are the whistles?   Some spectators?  Some atmosphere?

1 vehicle rendered at a time and this is the best they can do?   Hmmm.  Still, maybe it will place nice?

  • XR3i TurboNutterBastard

    y – i thought CM was a centre-pivot thing.  ridiculous.  insulting.

  • XR3i TurboNutterBastard

    a spelling test.   unlucky.

  • 07wtcc

I wonder is GT5 rally mode (gameplay, physics) better then RBR?

  • Marcel Penzkofer

I think this looks a lot better than what we were able to see on the first shots. Really a lot. Too sad, there is not much time left until the release-date. I bet they could improve the game even more, if they had more time. Surely it will not be a second Richard Burns Rally, but it might be a nice game to play. If the controller-setup is good, it will be, what the Colin McRae Series failed to be with their latest titles (especially Dirt / Dirt 2). What I love the most is, that all official classes are there. Not a small selection of licenced WRC-Cars like in the Colin Games – no, the full range with all the amazing S2000/S1600 and Group-N Cars.

If it’s a nice “jump in and have a nice time”-Rally-Game, I’ll definately buy it. Not for full price surely, but when it gets under 25 € I won’t say no to this Game.

  • Vettel

I played Richard Burns Rally and I thought it was pretty crap. Tha cars behaved very arcade like, not realistic at all. Hope this game will be the best WRC game, but will be difficult to top the WRC games from Sony back on the PS2.

  • Wesley

Sure, and in your world Santa Clause exists too…

  • DBl

“… wharever was better.”   And you were criticizing “aceruber” for his spelling.
    Pathetic…

  • jimmy

I am actually really looking forward to this game and I really do not understand your premature bashing. I am in terms of simulation qualities more concerned about F1 2010 than this game.

  • jimmy

    Not at all.

  • Firefox

It looks good and seem to handel well, but I still don’t like the stages being too wide.
To me it ruins the game sadly.
But I think many people will enjoy it anyway.

  • f0xx

You should buy a wheel first before saying such nonsense.

Anyway we’ll see about the physics, its not much long until october.

  • Renagade

i think i will have enough of this game with the demo … i hope im wrong but this look worst then Dirt2 … i was the one saying that they need a chance … but with the release date coming soon i dont think they can do a big change in the game … i hope the physic is good or this game will not pass the demo test for myself

  • Gaiajohan

It’s just 20 quid on the net. Still thinking whether I should buy it or not. It’s just the devs that i’m not sure about..

  • F1Racer

oh you mean Codemasters ?  :)     I agree.

  • F1Racer

ok well that’s a new word.  I think we can add that one to the dictionary.  Sounds perfectly legit to me :)

“Bah, that game is being consolified.  Means PC users will suffer as usual”

  • F1Racer

Wesley I credit you with being able to spell ‘lose’ correctly.  In terms of internet users you are part of a rare breed.   I wish there were more like you, sir.

Dunno if I agree with your post though as I haven’t watched the video yet ;) .

  • F1Racer

Watched it.  There are some nice moments in it (not the real footage) and some ‘Hmmm’ moments.
If it is pivoting about it’s axis, thats gonna look aweful.   I think Im one of those people who never quite gelled with RBR.   I always found it’s physics a bit too uncompromising.   Meaning that I think that, as good as they were, they never allowed for the driver not feeling the g-forces on his body.
RBR in a motion simulator would probably be incredible because of it’s physics but on a PC….  too raw.    My opinion of course.

I think WRC, like other Rally Sims won’t be doing this and of course this is why they don’t match up to peoples expectations like RBR has.    WRC doesnt seem like it’s outstanding or offers anything new that we can go WOW at but I’m gonna hold off judgement until after the demo.
Seeing a car pivot on its centre and actually feeling that while driving are 2 different things.  Lets see….

  • Justcause

When I click on the video I get a message that the video was removed by the user.

  • Stephen300o

It seems similar to their superstar v8 game, very old school but probably still fun to play.

  • jimmy

“This looks worse than Dirt2.” And Dirt2 is ugly?

  • SimRace.pl
  • Helios_CM

Not really fair I think. We’ve done demos for pretty much all of our next-gen racers with F1 2010 being the exception, and as said before this is due to licensing issues and time constraints.

  • NSRacer

    video removed, new link?

  • ermax18

Love Pendulum. I’d buy it just for that… ah, not really. :)

  • Renagade

Not in term of graphic CM give us the best graphic for they racing game, but it term of physic dirt2 is not really a great game. i enjoyed playing dirt2 but the FFB wasnt good at all.

  • Dave

How is it not a fair comment  :) ,no offense but what would releasing a demo for dirt 2 have to do with a game called F1.
And judging by what has been said about damage model(cars more like tanks) on F1 own forums a demo would be a very good idea.

  • Dave

oh Helios_CM while you are hanging around any chance of making a comment in the tire vid discussion on whether tire deformation is correct or not.
look forward to reading you reply

  • F1Racer

Ah jimmy,  premature bashing is, in a sim-racers mind, a divine right and of course a tradition.
There are tales of some kudos for being the first to do so on a given thread but there is no direct evidene to support this.

I wonder if premature bashers also have premature…  never mind. ;)

  • F1Racer

Stay away from Paris-Dakar then.  Those desert courses are fairly wide :)

  • XR3i TurboNutterBastard

lol. not criticising exactly. peeps say whareva where I live.  Areet, butt?  Chill.

  • Dave

    F1Racer
it okay its probably just you :)

  • Wesley

no how you call it then? the guy you said he needs a spelling test actually only made a typo, and you have an whole sentance wrong. No I dont say i am any good, but it is ridiculous that you are insulting aceruber for his typo stating he needs a spelling test and then you do it completely wrong.

  • Firefox

Yeah but the swedish roads aren’t and neither are some of the others.
You could fit 2 cars side by side maybe 3 on some of them which is way too much than real life ;)

  • sloeri

    agree with Firefox…

on many (if not most) the roads where the WRC is being held on, are only 1 lane wide (sometimes barely (look at the last video’s from the Deutshland WRC Rally ;) )

The wide roads indeed ruin it probably. (the “probably” is that we can’t really judge until it is out of course :) )

  • Dave
  • Sensekhmet

V8 Stars was fun to play?

  • melanieuk

Good video & reviewed by the ISR team…thanks Dave

  • XR3i TurboNutterBastard

    that’s more like it

    looks pretty good

  • Dave

Not with a wheel on pc it wasnt  :(

  • heavyboots

Video has moved here instead apparently (and with sound!)

  • F1Racer

Nice video.  Apart from him driving off the edge those 2 times, thats pretty much my level of driving on these things :)       It is looking good though.  May not be quite on terms with DIRT2′s graphics but it looks like its going to be enjoying.

  • XR3i TurboNutterBastard

Ya nah razz wid me mon, ya man claat

[god's sake, people are touchy?    IF IT WAS A FREAKING TYPO - WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME - THEN I WAS HARDLY 'INSULTING' SOME POOR SOUL'S INABILITY TO SPELL.  GEE I MUST HAVE JUST BEEN MAKING A LITTLE JOKE>>>>>>HEARD OF JOKES?  FUNNY HAHA?  NO? OH WELL....]

  • kkriminal

great arcade but not nice simulator very good graphic

  • kkriminal

where found a demo of the game??
