World Rally Championship – First Preview

Black Bean Games has released the first-ever preview screenshot of their official World Rally Championship game, showing Sebastien Loeb’s Citroen C4 WRC in action.

Developed by Milestone, World Rally Championship will be bringing all the action of the WRC to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC. The game will feature all 13 rally events from the 2010 schedule and extensive online features as players will be able to compete against the real WRC stars thanks to iOpener’s GPS technology. World Rally Championship is planned to be released in September 2010.

    Holy crap. Is this even a screenshot? And tarmac wheels on gravel and with gravel suspension… whoever made this picture has NO IDEA about rallying.

    I feel sorry for Milestone. Their reputation is being dragged through the mud with games like the Superstars games but their last superbike game was brilliant. I’m not judging this already, sure they have a crappy photoshopper, but they have so much time to make this, if they make a shoddy game I will really feel sorry for them.

    Ok so it’s not possible to select tarmac tyres and drive a gravel stage ?
    In rF I can select wet tyres and race in the dry. Same also with GTR2.

    Also this might be a tarmac/gravel stage. Who knows.

    Aahh but we are so quick to judge and so quick to slag off anything new especially if it isn’t hardcore sim.

    This community is getting so old and tired now. Same old negativity, different day. Boooooring.

    The graphics on that shot is better than LFS for example so why is LFS not getting slated too ? Is it cos its supposed to be hardcore (pfff hardcore :tongue: – a word people like to use cos it makes them feel more ‘leet).

    As for its physics, yeah well you can’t tell much from a still screenshot.

    1 friggin’ screenshot and you lot are all over it like a pack of hungry wolves who can’t wait to drag it down.. oh its got the wrong wheels, it must be bullshit. Fking hell, get over yourselves.

    @F1Racer: Yeah, I guess you could probably set the car on fire, launch it into space or use as a bath tub and all would be ‘realistic’ or rather ‘possible’. Problem is, it just doesn’t happen, even if it could. And excuse me for not being an unconditional optimist. This picture is crap and makes as much sense as Dali paintings, this is my opinion. I’m not judging this game yet: I just don’t have any expectations regarding it.

    I’m referring to the situation you mentioned: mixed (gravel/tarmac) surface track with maxed out ride height and tarmac wheels. It just doesn’t happen, if such stages are run, the cars are set-up lower than the usual gravel setup and use gravel tires.

    And who told you I have a sound mind? My mind is weak, not very stable and tires easily: I was never able to complete an IQ test. By the second page I am usually so enraged by all the stupid questions I can’t answer I destroy the test. I hope no one will notice when I’ll aply for a racing license in the future… :weird:

    I’ve been watching these comments from the day the screen shot went up as I check this site every day after I get home from work. I must say I was a bit shocked to read most of the above posts apart from F1 Racer’s and Harpo’s quoted posts with which I mostly agree.

    What the? PEOPLE … ITS A FIRST-EVER PREVIEW SCREENSHOT :eek:

    Does anyone who posted a negative comment happen to work for a game dev company? Anyone?? I very much doubt it. I can tell you a game will progress through many different stages during development as do mods. This game is not due for a release until September, 7 months from now possibly more … if you honestly think that you can judge this game and all its about by this single image that the dev company was kind enough to share with us, the public, then you obviously have absolutely no idea what goes into developing a game at all :roll:

    So many bandwagon riders in this community it’s sad :sad:

    Get a clue, do the research, and if you still feel the need to state your opinion on a public forum of any kind it is a good idea to use valid points that relate directly to the topic :cool:
