vracingDisplay PRO for Android – Out Now

Apps that allow mobile phones to be used as sim racing data displays are becoming increasingly popular.

While Apple iOS device users can choose from various apps like the sin:speed Speedometer or iHUD, Android users had little choice of sim racing apps. This changes now as Gniewko Ostrowski has released the vracingDisplay PRO for rFactor.

The app comes in two parts, a plugin for rFactor and an Adroid app for the mobile device. The app displays various telemetry data including speed, position, splits and lap times.

You can check out the app in action in the video below, the vracingDisplay PRO sells for 4€, everyone is invited to try it for free for ten minutes on the vracingDisplay website though.

I’ve the Pro version and works perfectly in my SGS2 but I have some suggestions:

    - Before close rFactor the vracingdisplaypro.exe still running in the process window.
    - More styles.
    - Include Race07 series!
    - I miss laps info.
    - Sector colors in red/green if you do better/worse sector time.

    Good work ;-)
    Cheers.

Thank you for your feedback, working actually on more info of the laps and sectors, saving per series/track time data for future time trials records and statistics and so on, yeah new styles will be included also. vracingdisplayserver.exe is idle when no client connecting to it, so I decided not to close it as it consumes no PC resources at all, cause when you start your rfactor again it will use it, not starting a new process. So … expect more!

    Thanks.

I hope you will release it for pCARS and rF2! Great job! ;)

I’ll hold off for now until we have rF2 compatibility in the bag ;-)

    Keep up the good work!

  • Ross Siggers

This is true. As I’m spending more with pCARS and less with rFactor I hope they incorporate compatibility for it. If so I’ll be happy to purchase :)

This looks great. Would love to see a WP7 version too – I’d definitely buy it. (Plus pCars & rFactor2 support!)

I am really sorry, the only reason it is not on Android Market is, that selling is not allowed from Poland! yeah … I was shocked too, but Poland is not on the list of 20 countries for merchants :/ So I had a make alternative solution which is PayPal.

I downloaded it one week ago and bought it immediately: thanks, it missed

  • Павел Драндийски

BTW don’t get me wrong I really appreciate your work. Hope we see other sims in future releases.
BTW2 nothing so far for symbian, but may be it is too old, slow and has poor support.
(I don’t have iWhatever, or an Android device, just may Nokia 5530, but my next smartphone will depend on what is the platform for the greatest sim app :D)
