DrivingItalia.net has an interesting piece on Paolo Cattani’s Virtual Grand Prix 3 simulation, giving us an outlook on where the sim is heading.
The article mentions that the sim’s engine is about to leave alpha-stage, concentration will now be on adding new content and features. Several cars from other simulations will be ported into the sim, including Formula 3 and Champ Car. Furthermore, a F1 2009-style fantasy car is in the works that will also add Kers to the simulation.
Along with the new circuits, other planned improvements include a PHP-based server application as well as new shaders and other graphical effects such as motion blur and bloom. Below are some screenshots, showing some of the new cars. If you speak Italian, the full article is well worth the read.
Virtual Grand Prix 3 features a full field of Formula cars and five different tracks. The sim sells for reasonable 14,90€ including one year of updates, a free demo is available on the VGP3 website.
