Some1 and Niels_at_home have once again teamed up to bring a road car to rFactor, releasing the Toyota Supra MKIV.
The legendary Japanese road car is included both as Turbo and non-Turbo version, the mod is remarkable for bringing several new graphical standards to the trusted gMotor 2 engine. For example, the mod features new light flare shaders, giving the car very realistic looking headlights. Furthermore, the car comes with optimised body shaders providing better lighting effects.
Another feature worth to be mentioned is the extensive usage of rFactor’s damage system as the car has many detachable parts, including bumpers, doors, wing, tires and more. To make most of this mod and its challenging physics, make sure to read the included readme file.

to quote myself from rFc:-
Single-handedly one of the best single-car mods for rFactor!
Physics are great, car model is superb (loving the interior, especially the light bouncing off the steering wheel), the headlights are the best in ANY mod.
I’ve already rolled the car at Le Mas du Clos. Span it around, it took to the grass and caught a bump. 2 left side wheels landed on the tarmac and got grip. The car flipped onto its roof (well it sunk halfway into the ground). It was totally believable though.
Well done. This mod is amazing.
If I had to crit, I`d be nitpicking, but when the engine stalls or is off, you can still hear an idle sound.
One of the on-board cams (passenger side) is sticking out of the car by a bit.
EDIT: Here’s the video of my roll. Does anyone else have the skid sounds this loud ?? If not, how do I turn it down because I do notice loud tyre screechs in a few mods but my PLR file seems to be default with the Tyre sounds.

I think the overall work that went into this single car is worth 100 cars to Forza 3. Just goes to show, it’s not all about the looks… or “passion” lol.

Just… wow. To be honest I’m far from being a Toyota fan and I’ve always hated the Supra for it’s ’street-tuner’ popularity and overall ugliness.
But the quality of this mod just leaves me speechless!
PS: rFactor has been around since 2006. Why nobody thought about making such headlights??? I never imagined this is possible in rF.
11 out of 10! Would be even more, but I dislike Supra :P

Absolutely stunning job. What a great mod. Just like the corvette mod, its fantastic. Love it.
It’s too bad Neils didn’t model the turbo as stated in the readme, would of been good to just floor it in 3rd see it slowly rev up and wait for the boost to kick in and see the difference in the power. Still a great and fun car to drive though.

@F1Racer great video! never saw this kind of rolling physics in my entire life
it’s so smooth so real
This just goes to show that the hardware is there just see GT5 which less than a PC config and now this! This mod has set a new standard in all aspects this is the best ever simulation I ever saw I can’t stop but saying I’m speechless!
this just goes to show that you don’t need to be the Don Corleones (SRW call them the big moders!) to do the best quality work!
I just hope moders out there give credit to this guy and don’t simply steal his hard work!
Bravo, bravissimo!!! Mod of the year no doubt!!!

What a stunning mod guys, great drive, excellent model, lovely interior..but whats the best is the new shading you used on the lights, amazing, espically if you watch a replay, and the car turns a corner and you get that dazzel effect, excellent effect, hope to see other mods use this as well..

This looks incredible for gmotor2.
What exactly is “optimized shaders”? Can someone elaborate on this please. I would like to take a crack at making more cars look this good.

Btw, all Nvidia users; you need to turn on supersampling in the control panel otherwise the dashboard sparkles like mad.

Brilliant work.
Carbonfire: Try setting “Texture Filtering – Negative LOD Bias” to ‘clamp’ and see if that helps.

I am totally blown away by this mod!
Warm the tyres up for a couple of laps, then let rip. The poise you have under heavy braking is awesome(turn 3 mid ohio). If you are a bit late for the corner chuck it in, counter steer and a bit of gas and you could balance on the limit all day if the corner was long enough.
Just wish there was a gt mod to this standard.
Is there a way of improving the car mirror qaulity in my plr file???

I love the lights and other shader effects from this mod, nice work guys.
This raises the bar yet again for rFactor
Lets hope other modders follow suite.
As for the mirrors Dark Racer , the link below takes you to an old post at RSC. But due to logging in problems i have never been able to actually download the file that supposedly makes the mirror res higher.
Hope you have better luck than me !

Yep, I have all that stuff on for global settings like AFx16, and texture filtering on “High Quality” which turns off the optimizations. (For trilinear this removes the stepped lines on road surfaces on rFactor, I definitly recommend that setting)
The supersampling is the only option I change from game to game because it affects performance the most. Some games just don’t need it, some optimize for it… rFactor is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to mods.
Anyway the Supra dashboard is using textures with alpha channels that supersampling can fix well good.
