Thrustmaster Ferrari Vibration GT Cockpit Announced

Thrustmaster has reveiled the mystery product hinted at in their video teasers, unveiling the Ferrari Vibration GT Cockpit 458 Italia Edition for Xbox 360.

This is the second integrated wheel stand solution from Thrustmaster, following the F430 Cockpit that was released in 2010. While the first product was let down by the lack of Force Feedback, Thrustmaster has semi-fixed this issue with the Vibration Cockpit as it at least features vibration effects but no “proper” FFB.

Those all in one wheel/pedals combos *look* pretty strange, and unstable, more of a portable wheel for consoles yea?

I wonder why elitist company like Ferrari allows putting their name on such low-end/low-quality products. Thrustmaster wheels and gamepads, that crappy SMS game, Acer laptops and so on. I would personally be ashamed to have anything Ferrari-related that isn’t an actual car. And I’m a fan of their cars and F1 team.

Errr…you can still buy a G27 for that price. And you get a third pedal. And you get a gearstick. And you get leather in your wheelrim. And you get a proven and reccomended steering wheel with good enough force feedback effects. And you get something more practical and mod-friendly than that “cockpit”. The only thing you’ll miss on the G27 is the Ferrari badge, but why would you want one in the first place?

Basically, everything this thing does, the G27 does it better. And for the same price.

Hmm maybe something for my girlfriend… lol

Well done Thrustmaster :) Got us all fooled! Just proves that a decent tease can hype a pretty crappy product into the skies.

True, but what about the XBOX 360 compatibility of the G27 ?

Probably for the same reason why a 55 year old sociology professor would want to date an 18 year old trailer trash (or assumed trailer trash).

having a teaser for this? I hate it even more now!

    Hey, leave my girlfriend alone!

I think I saw something similar at Fry’s (huge electronics shop). It also had a ferrari badge, but my first impression was that the wheel itself was tiny.

    So it’s a 300 Euro Vibrator… lovely.

    :Insert rim-shot here:

On a second thought, the idea is good. If they this type of cockpit was made without the wheel (only pedals and the cockpit) and then I could mount my G25 or any ffb wheel on it, then it would be a good and useful thing to have… although I would be worry about the stability of this cockpit and that’s why they make this cockpit with no ffb wheel (less forces, less shake)…
